Hey, I'm looking for the soundtrack to the second Urusei Yatsura movie, Beautiful Dreamer. Now, I'll be impressed if there are even people who have seen the movie, let alone have the soundtrack to it. In particular, I'm looking for the main theme of the movie, Love Is A Boomerang. I really appreciate the help I recieve here, thanks for your time!

It's pretty sad that such an awesome series as Urusei Yatsura is so obscure in the U.S., isn't it? Urusei Yatsura is definitely Rumiko Takahashi's most awesome manga (or at the very least my most favorite), and Beautiful Dreamer is director Mamoru Oshii's most beautifully crafted film.

So, do you only want "Ai wa Boomerang" or do you really want the entire soundtrack? Either way, I can upload it for ya, but I wanna know whether you want the whole enchilada or just one song before I take the time to upload anything.

If you don't mind I'll take the whole soundtrack, but since that seems like a bit of a hassle, if you don't want to bother with the whole thing, the theme song to the movie should be fine. You're right by the way, that it's such a good manga and television series, and totally under-appreciated. It's kind of funny, before I even knew what Urusei Yatsura was, I saw Beautiful Dreamer on the Sci-Fi channel when I was young, (and it totally blew my mind.) Thanks for all your help too, by the way.

Well, it's only obscure over here. It's actually quite famous in Japan (and it's the reason Rumiko Takahashi became so popular over there), and it's also popular in Italy. I know most people here in the states are only really familiar with Inuyasha and maybe even Ranma , but sadly not too many have heard of her awesome first series.

Anywho, I uploaded the whole Beautiful Dreamer soundtrack for ya. Here ya go. (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=HNOPS0Z8)

Lets not forget her other stuff, (which is a little more obsure,) like One Pound Gospel and The Mermaid Saga, which is also great. I knew Urusei Yatsura was popular in Japan, but I never knew it was so famous in Italy? That's pretty crazy. Hey, thanks again for your help in getting me this soundtrack. I really appreciate the effort you put forth for me. If there's anything I can try and help you out with, just give me a shout.

thecpoc, thanks so much for this. Beautiful Dreamer is my favorite movie of all time, anime or otherwise, so this makes me incredibly happy. Do you happen to have any other UY OST's? I am also interested in Lum the Forever if possible.

As a matter of fact, I have a LOT of UY music... and yes, I do happen to have the soundtrack to "Lum the Forever". I'll upload it as soon as I can. :)

In your opinion, what is the *best* UY soundtrack (if that's possible to pin down)? Movies 2 and 4 are the ones that I have the most connection with, but since you have "a LOT" of UY music, I am curious about what your favorites are.

Sorry for the delay in posting. For some reason the board kept giving me a "connection time out" message today... or rather, yesterday.

Anywho, here's the link to the "Lum the Forever" soundtrack (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=4THCHFQB)!

As for my favorite soundtrack? Hmmm... that's hard to say. Well... I guess overall I'd go with Beautiful Dreamer, as a whole. But, to be honest, that's just as a whole soundtrack. In terms of individual music, I have a lot of favorites that span all throughout the entire series (and a little bit beyond). This series really did have a lot of great music, especially from the mid-point of the series and onwards. It could be that a lot of the music that I like, I like because I associate it with a certain event from the show... but I really do think this series has awesome and varied music all around.

Incidentally, the BGM from the movies did make it into the series after said movie was made. Except that "Lum the Forever" was made after the TV show had ended, though music from that movie did make it in some of the OVAs.
