24 ~ Season 5 - Expanded Soundtrack

This is an 'expanded' soundtrack for 24 Season 5. I felt some great music was missing from the official Seasons 4 & 5 soundtrack, so i've done my best to fill in the gaps, so to speak.
This is not a complete score, nor is it meant to be. It is a collection of what I felt were some of the best tracks that didn't make it onto the official soundtrack.

This is a rip, so there is some light SFX in certain tracks. However, my extraction and editing methods have cut down on the amount, and voices have been completely removed without any loss of quality. I've done my best to touch up some of the tracks where necessary.

Be sure to check out my 6 Disk Complete 24 Season 6 soundtrack too. I also plan to rip the music from Seasons 3 & 4, although that may already be done by the time you're reading this :)

I'm just on 4 at the moment, and was wondering: do you/will you have the music from Season 2 (when Mason leaves CTU) and Season 4 (when Driscoll leaves CTU)? It may well be in Seasons 5 or 6 also, but not having watched them I'm not sure.

Hey Thalin, were you forced to edit something out of Disk 1: 06 - Assassination Watch? I was overjoyed that you placed that piece of music on your rip, but when my favorite part of the music starts, it oddly skips about 4-5 seconds or so at 3:26-3:27, just when the song is starting. I thought I was just an idiot so I busted out my S5 DVD to listen to it, and there's definately something missing. Was it deliberate due to some noise you couldn't eliminate, or just a glitch? Could you re-record it, if so? :-)

edit: Looks like the same thing at 4:57 on Disk 1: 03 - Hostile Takeover. I guess something to do with the split screen occuring is prompting these cuts? :-( You can leave them in, they sound cool!

That would be the dreaded whoosh sound. Sometimes removing it goes 'slightly' unnoticed - Wayne's Escape, sometimes not, in your case, particularly Assassin's Watch, which is the piece I like a lot. It would be very loud if left in, because of the way the DVD is mixed. And quieting just that part would be very noticable.

Could you at least tell me the method/program you used to get the good recordings so I can go into the dvd myself and record it? :-)

One suggestion for future rips - when ripping music that leads up to the ticking clock, leave the clock sound in! Currently we sweet bit of music with a nice build up at the end....which just cuts out. :)

Yeah, in past rips (not 24) I used to just fade every track out. But, in the case of 24 a lot of the tracks build up to something, so it wouldn't sound right fading out, but at the same time some tracks end rather abruptly. I considered leaving the clock in but decided it would get very annoying for people after a few listens, and wouldn't really fit in.

For anyone that's interested, I've whipped up some quick cover art for this and Season 6. Thanks again Thalin!

When Is The Music From Season 3 and 4 Gonna Be Up?

An update on the Season 3 and 4 Expanded Soundtrack. They will be released seperately, rather than the original plan of having a 2 Disk version - Disk 1 being S3, and Disk 2 being S4.

The Season 3 Expanded Score might be released sometime this week. It will be comprised of 24 tracks, which focus much more heavily on the second half of the season than the first, due to the first having high levels of SFX, and the sound quality being mostly poor. The 'editors' of the DVD must have changed the mixing in the second half of the DVD.

Season 4 will take a bit longer.
