When I first saw the charecters of FFx I thought that Kimarhi looked awesome. But I can honestly say that yes in battle Kimarhi sucks. He has a very weak phisical attack. The only good thing he has is his overdrive, but thats not until later in the game and buy then I diden't use him that much and his overdrive gage took forever to fill up anyway.

If you send him over to Auron's part of the sphere, he will get about as strong as him. But he is quite slow, so haste him up with Tidus.

If you just keep going and send him over to Lulu's part of the grip, you will have THE slowest, most craptacular mage ever to emerge from a "Latrine" (french ;)

<table><tr><td>
*Shrugs* It depends on how you build him up, like where you send him on the sphere map thingie. :B If you send him through Auron's, Tidus, or Wakka's, then you'll have a pretty strong guy. If you send him through Lulu's and Yuna's, then you'll have a mage. O_o And if you send him through Rikku's, then he'll be really fast and have alot of HP [I found that Rikku had alot of HP spheres surrounding her] XD In the beginning, he was slow, but eh, he was okay.

Well I sent Kimarhi though Tidus's area of the sphere grid. And he still sucks! I mean his phisical attack does about 1/4 or more of what Auron's attack does. And he is still slow. Plus he is a bad healer. So I guess I did something wrong along the way... I did have a hell of a time strightening out my charecters on the grid halfway though the game.:p

I also thought Kimahri looked cool.
Then I didn't like his attitude at all. "save Yuna, blah blah"
^^
and he also turned out to be weak, so I didn't use him.

In a word.....yes. He's a marshmellow. I just used him to get Ultima so I could black magic sphere it to Yuna and Lulu since he was so close to it to start out with.

in my game it seemed kimarhi was one of the "extra characters". and he just joined there journey. i never used him in battle, so it seemed like he was an extra character. i used valefor more then him, which is very sad.

If you send Kimarhi through Lulu's grid, he becomes a better black mage than Lulu herself. He is not very good at phisical attacks unless you send him through aurons grid. Your best bet is to send him through lulu,so that if lulu is k o'd in battle he will make a stronger asset in the magic department.

I thought Kimarhi was cool (well im playing FF10 now and hes got a very strong attack) "Kimarhi talk no more"

Kimarhi is decent early on. Well he's decently fast and strong at the beginning. But later on, you'll find that Auron and Wakka will go sailing past him in the strenght department and his speed well hardly gains. So he's a pretty good fighter before Auron comes. Some bad parts about Kim are that his part of the SG is the shortest. BUT it is surronded by many Lv.1 Locks that are easy to open and you can make him better. I think the Kim is really an extra character. You can change him into another Rikku, Auron, Wakka, or anyone else.

What are you talking about? His physical attacks may not be as good as Aurons or Tidus's but they're better than anyone elses. Also, apart from Auron he has the highest starting HP out of all the characters, and some of his overdrives rock! Everytime I fight against an enemy that i've never fought before I use his Lancet ability in case he can learn a new attack. Also, his Self-Destruct overdrive helped me to finally defeat Evrae after about 10,000,000 failed attempts. I think every character is useful.

you underestimate khimari ; when your going against bosses and make auron transfer overdrives on him , all his lancet abilities own

well i think both ways. He was a grat, strong characer in the begininng til i decided to take him down Lulu's sphere grid. His magic ad power suck, so i think im going to build up my other characters first, and then finish kimahri, maybe then he'll be half decent.

and yah and look who i got

I agree. I took made him go in Auron's part of the Sphere Grid, and he was doing really well. After that I put him in Lulus, and it just didn't work out. Its way better if you stick him in Aurons grid section.

Kihmari's the Red Mage of the game. He's in the center of the Sphere Grid so you can level him up any way you want. Personally, I use him a lot because I've taught him Mug and he's stronger than Rikku.

I agree with Masamune X, he will become a better black mage than lulu if you send him through that road, and he has lancet abilities to compromise some minor weak points out.

I, for one, think that every single character in FFX is useful, no way they could release a major game (to some) with that kind of a con, like some character sucking badly and proved to be weaker than the others, with it.

I noticed I had Kimahri problems early on when I ran out of his personal little sphere area, so I sent him down Rikku's sphere section. I went all the way til I got steal and most of the HPs then started backtracking all the way back through Aurons and Tidus's sections. He was really weak(but fast, sometimes getting 2 turns in a row) but now I got him with a knight lance and his attack is decent and I can STEAL!! Rikku is now obsolete and if there was a way I could get mug(he has lots of MP and not much to use it on) on Kimahri then I would have it made as far as stealing goes.

But you shouldn't backtrack until you got one of those return spheres. I got one just as soon as I wasted all those sphere points coming back to the start point :(

I sent him through Tidus' and tought him some special skills like bio and stuff and he's one of my top characters...I use him Tidus and switch between Auron and Rikku.

?????????????????????????????????????????????

Does anyone know if I can give Yuna something with alchemy too....I have it on Rikku and it's so great but can Yuna have it too?

Bumping this up to say that I can't stand Kimahri and not just because of his performance in battle:

Point 1:

I can't stand it when people (or Ronso) refer to themselves in third person! (Kimahri: "The Ronso were singing too. Kimahri's ears are never wrong." Or something like that. Ugh!)

Point 2:

He also never speaks and when he does, it's usually not something particularly interesting.

Point 3:

His overdrive stinks. I almost never used it. I found Stone Breath useful in the NSGNCNS challenge, but that was about it. And Nova? What's Nova? Nova sucks. Stupid non-elemental attack that's really weak at lower levels and only does 99,999 at best when Kimahri's maxed out.

Point 4:

Battle: Ugh, what's the point? In Final Fantasy X, every character seems to have a purpose in battle, every one that is, except Kimahri. Yuna's your summoner/healer. Wakka is good at attacking flying enemies. Lulu's the black mage. Tidus takes care of fast and nimble fiends and Auron takes care of the hard-shelled ones. (And also has a lot of neat Break attacks and such.) And Rikku's the thief and can use items. Kimahri? What can Kimahri do? Somebody tried to defend Kimahri too me once, saying that he "has a lot of piercing weapons." So what? So does Auron and Auron is ten times cooler to boot. And okay, so you can send Kimahri down other characters' paths after a certain point. Even still, ho hum. Big deal. So he just becomes a backup for one of your characters if they're ever not available or if you find yourself needing to do the same thing twice. :::Yawn:::

Whew! Okay, I'm done.

Not that Auron's overdrives are any more useful than Kimahri's.

Kimahri was always an asset to my team after I let him learnCheer and Haste, then let him back-track so he could run up Auron's section. It's a very convenient combination of speed and strength, and doesn't take too long to do.

<font face="lucida calligraphy" size="2">I rarely used him, but what little I did, I ended up sending him down Rikku's track a little so that he could steal... which turned out to be pretty useful when you fight those two Ronso and can steal level three spheres. (Which were hard to find for awhile)

I didn't find him all that helpful for the same reasons Agent0042 already said.

<font color=red face="comic sans ms">I too got Kimahri to learn Steal and Use, and he's gone on to learn Mug now. At the moment Wakka is by far my strongest character, and Kimahri is in second. I do mainly only use him for stealing right now though unless I'm fighting enemies with A LOT of HP (or enemies that I need piercing weapons for) because Wakka is just so strong for me. Until Wakka got this good, Kimahri was actually my strongest character, although he's starting to fall behind now (Auron and Tidus have almost overtaken him again).

As for out of battle, yeah I don't really like how he (or other Ronsos for that matter) always talk in third person, and also talk very slow. It's annoying. :p

hey
i don't mind kimahri, i use him on my team all the time, i sent him up thru Tidus's then down thru Aurons then over into wakka's, he is one of my heavy hitters with 9999 to boot. the other thing i like about him is that some of his weapons are cool looking like his legendary weapon, it's awsome, same with the halbert, with no encounter comes with it. i loved it. i don't mind kimarhi, sucks at magic but makes up for it as a healing, theif guardian:D
he also makes up for being slow once he learns quick hit, combine that with his legendary weapon, and he will be one strong and fast hitters, quick hit also makes auron by far one of the best characters in the game

Heres the thing about Kimahri. Hes one of the only guys where u can send him down anyones spec line in the beginning. I sent him down Tidus before (I found useful) Rikkus (Very useful) and Lulus (Worst mistake ever). Also his limits are useful such as Mighty Guard and White Wind and stuff but you get them so late there near worthless and Nova is weak but looks hella cool.

That being said I hate Ronsos and I hate Kimahri. DIE KIMAHRI!

I'm sending Kimarhi through Auron's sphere grid and he's getting god-like. I wanna get him to have good physical attacks so he's good at something, and he needs lots of HP.

BTW: I've got Lulu going through her sphere grid, and she is a crappy black mage.

Agent0042
01-24-2003, 08:42 PM
Man, no kidding about Lulu. Her usefulness is way up there at the beginning of the game and then it just sort of really starts slipping the closer you get the end. Right around the Calm Lands or so, I'd say.

kimahri was soooooo useless in my file, I tried to think of one advantage that he has over another character and I can't think of a thing. All of my guyz are maxed out except 4 kimahri since he sucks too much (not even half of the his sphere grid is finished)

Agent0042

Lulu has the most worthless limit break alive. WORTHLESS!
Isn't that true? I mean, it's like if you're really good at spinning the stick, you can maybe cast Ultima at something like 20% power three times. Wooooow. Goody. Or, you could just Doublecast Ultima for I believe 4 AP with Lulu's Onion Knight at full power and do way more damage.

I used a Friend Sphere and took Kimarhi over to Auron's grid. Now he's my second most powerful hitter. He's got a strength of 78, and he hits for 8000 on most attacks. So Kimarhi doesn't suck.

<font color=red face="comic sans ms">Yeah, you're right. I just checked, and Kimahri actually has the highest magic stat out of all my characters. Shame I've been sending him down the physical and stealing paths rather than the magic paths, although I might decide to get him to learn some black magic a bit later on. Once he's doing 9999HP damage or so. Of course, then I'll go on to get people's celestial weapons and power them up to get past Break Damage limit and then hopefully go on to do stat maxing, so everyone gets to the same strength eventually anyway. But I like Kimahri still, either way. :D

Kimarhi is my least used character. I don't find any of his skills particularly useful. I also moved his grid to Tidus' grid like most of you. Overall, he does not have a strong physical or magic attack, which puts him under pretty much all the characters except maybe Rikku.

The Ricky

My Kimarhi has gone through his own grid, Auron's, Wakka's, and part of Lulu's, and he's my god. :D He know's His speed is 60, attack is 108, accuracy is 50, magic is 60, and I think you get the picture. :D :D :D
