Yeah, yeah. I know Wow is super-popular and Age of Conan is going to try to be the next big thing, but does anybody play Guild Wars still? When it first came out, I played it a ton, and now that a true expansion is slated for release this month and a sequel in the works for next year, I'm thinking about getting back into the game. Well, one of 'em, at least.

So, yeah, does anybody still play?

The only reason WoW is so popular is because it's fucking easy as hell. In reality the MMO sucks balls. =/

That said... I've never played GW. FFXI is awesome though.

Thanks for telling me about WoW when I asked about Guild Wars...

I refuse to pay a subscription fee for one fucking game. I don't care how good it is. That being said, it does look interesting.

All true!

Also I still play it, I've been off for a while, but GW2 looks like it's gonna be epic!

From what I've seen, GW2 will indeed be epic. Evidently, you can unlock cool stuff in GW2 by doing stuff in the new expansion--the name slips my mind as I'm absurdly tired atm.

At any rate, once my student loans come through and I can buy my shiny new Mac for school, I'll probably pick it back up. Do you play the original or one of the pseudo-expansions?

Original and 1 pseudo expansion. Nightfall is supposed to be the best... well before Eye of the North came out.

Cyan you should play one of those "free" MMOs. You know, the ones where you get all the shitty starter crap for free and anything you want that would resemble a complete game costs money?

I hear they're a-sooooooom

Edit: The ones I mean are the obviously shitty download only ones from Korea. In case you get confused.

Hm, I played this for a bit when I was jobless just as my FFXI subscription ran out. Loved the fact that you really don't need to carry a bunch of idiots most MMOs jokingly refer to as 'team play'. God, do I love solo play.

As an aside, I'm glad someone found FFXI fun. All I can remember is hating it for a straight year.

So, to necro-bump my thread, for the like, two people who play, what classes/builds do you like?

Well I like to try to mix it up, but I always end up liking Warriors best. My main character is Warrior/Necro. He's great because he can pass on status inflictions, heal himself by killing you, and some people who are willing to risk HP can actually make legions of undead.

But I also Use a Warrior Elementalist for PvP. It's got a really good mix! Some air spells to knock down your opponent, then use Warrior skills to cripple, bleed, and deep wound them to death. It wont work if you are monkless, because eventually they will all gang up on you.

I also try to use Rangers. Their speed is good, and they have some awesome interrupting skills! Actually the last 2 characters are awesome for killing monks.

I've always been partial to rangers, meself. I like the interruption skills. My last char (which was a few years ago) was a R/Mo, 'cause in PvP, I always seemed to live longer than my allies, and a Res Signet just wasn't doing the trick.

Hope to see you in the game then. I make Guild Wars Videos, as well as me being a Guild Leader. ^^
