It was Nintendo. I was around 6 or 7 years old, I think. I only had around 3 games, but I liked all of them. Eventually, I got more.

Does the Commodore 64 count? If not, then Playstation...yes, I came in late.

I'm gonna have to get a hold of some C64 games one day...Potty Pigeon, Impossible Mission, Great Giana Sisters....ahh nostalgia.

My first was the Sega Mastersystem, but the the first I actually played more than an hour a month was the NES. That thing I spent practicaly every waking moment on.
I think my favorites were the Ninja Turtles games.

I only got into games (or rather got enough money to buy s console) at a later age until then i would have to sit and watch my friends play on their Mastersystems and Nes'. But eventually i bought a megadrive and it was one of the happiest days of my life...until my little sister totaly destroyed me at Street Fighter even though she'd never played a videogame before.

My first was Calico Vision, then I got Nintendo, then Sega, then Sega Genesis, then Super Nintendo, the Sony Playstation, and now a Playstation2. ~_^ Started out playing video games on my Calico when I was like four or five, and ever since then I was addicted. I never could play Space Invaders at night 'cause the aliens and stuff scared me, LOL!

I miss my Calico, wherever it is. Ladybug and Space Invaders were the best games! Heheh!

My first system was Nintendo, but I played a couple other before that. I actually still have it connected with all my other systems, all the way to my PS2. My first NES has actually outlasted my frist SNES. I had a substitute for each of those in case either one died, and recently my first SNES's video, ah, card I guess, died. Although if I turn on my NES and jump in the middle of the room, there's a chance it will reset, or even spaz.

My first was NES. First game was Mario Bros 1./ Duck Hunt

BTW, when I found out that you couldn't beat Bowser with the Duck Hunt gun, I was devestated!:notgood:

Mine was the NES, and it came with Super Mario Bros., Duck Hunt, and that running game (forget the name) all in one.

So that made it come with a controller, a laser gun (mine is grey, the later ones were red), and a running pad. Suffice to say, I was amazed by how much stuff it came with!

Haha, and I remember holding the laser gun right to the screen to shoot the ducks. You were supposed to be farther back. Oh well. :p

My first was the intellivision. It was a system made before the Atari 2600 and yet it was alot better. If you ever compared games released on the atari 2600 and the intellivision as well you can easily tell the intellivision versions are longer, more detailed, and have better sound/graphics.

My 2nd was the Atari 2600 and I was always dissapointed in it. But the Intellivision had broke and could not find anywhere to buy a new one or get it repaired.

There is my early childhood story for you :)

Oh it ends with a happy ending I recently got a intv and a intellicart from e-bay so I get to replay all those classic games!!

Yes, the C64 was great. I had around 500 games for it.. O_o I still have it though, so I have to go back to playing it again sometime... games like Boulder Dash and Bubble Bobble... classics. And btw, you do know that Great Giana Sisters was an illegal rip-off of Mario? ;) I never played it, and I think that very few copies were ever sold due to that fact...

And I totally missed out the 16-bit ocnsoles and got a Playstation within a year of it being released. And it's still the only console I have, although I'll probably get either a PS2 or a GameCube...

(General comment:- Man, people seem to be changing their user names at the moment. That equals ultimate confusion...)

I'm gonna list all of the consoles I've owned EVER just to annoy everyone (almost swore there, but I am drunk and can't type well as a result.)

1.) Sinclair ZX81 (not a console, but I only played games anyway, so... Shrugs.)

2.) Commodore 64. Classic computer, games galore, Midnight Resistance, Ghostbusters, Spy Game, um, that's it.

3.) Gameboy. My first serious console. Got Mario Land and luvved it. Tetris was cool aswell. Bought a handful of games before dropping it and destroying it.

4.) NES. The serious stuff now (swearing almost happened there too... Sod it, the serious shit now.) Mario 1 and 3, Maniac Mansion (my first RPG, I suppose.) Kung Fu, Donkey Kong, Metal Gear (the first one). I bought it for 30 and sold it for 80. Nice!

5.) SNES. Bought it with Street Fighter 2. Bought on top of that Mario World, Mario All Stars, Wing Commander (brilliant game), FIFA Soccer, Super Striker, International Superstar Cricket, Donkey Kong Country, Mario Kart, Top Gear 2 and others (drunken memory recall = poor.) Still have it someplace.

6.) Game Gear. Man, what a console!!! (Heh.) Played Sonic 2 and some alien resistance game with cool music. That's about it. Flogged it to my brother.

7.) Megadrive. Only owned Sonic and Sonic 2, and Shining Force 2. But Shining Force 2 got me interested in RPGs. Loved that game and have played it to death as a result. Sold that too.

8.) Playstation. My most recent console purchase, and what can I say??? BOF 3 and 4, Suikoden 1 and 2, Wild Arms (no plans to release Wild Arms 2 in the UK... Bastards!) Grandia and Final Fantasy VI through to IX. An almighty console that I rightly praise. (And I still own.)

(Damn this drunken typing...)

Yeah, that'll do.
