I think Gasaraki rules. It would have to be one of the best mecha anime thinies I've seen in a long time. (It doesn't hold a candel to Evangelion, but not many things do.) It's animation was good, while the mechanical detail was real nice. Devices' moving parts could be distinguised very easily.
It's storyline is excellent. It gets a bit hoakey, I admit, but the overall story is still excellent.
For those of you who haven't seen it, Gasaraki is basically about two central characters who are essentially owned by opposing megacorps. This makes them enimies. What it is actually about would be harder to say. Some would think it's a love story, while others may think it's about a struggle for power, while others may think it's a man's struggle to hold onto his humanity, but I'll put to you this way. It's about shit blowing up and all the nifty little plot devices that happen between ship blowing up and mecha blowing more shit up.
