I'm not for the story either, cuz I know they'll mess it up, I just wanna see the fights and dialogue and stuff. If they can't match a few youtube vids in terms of special effects, I'll riot.

They made a live action DB movie long ago in Japan, I still want to see it I heard it was comic genius.

This movie is going to suck so bad, it's going to blow right past "so bad its good" and right into "so bad it's just fucking awful".
I love Arnold Schwarzenegger, but watching him play Mr. Freeze didn't make Batman and Robin any more watchable. Chow Yun fat as Master Roshi is very tempting indeed, but I think I'll be sitting out on this one.

Imo, his movies are alright.

Kung Fu Hustle wasn't bad. Actually, I think it was so bad it was good with some Kung Fu awesome sprinkled on top.
Shaolin Soccer was kidna bad though.

I feel the US general audience will immediately scoff at it because it's not based on the "Z" portion, they'll miss the dumb gold hair and hours of screaming

Although...aside from Chow-Yun Fat, that is the only aspect that makes me have any hope for it.

I am surprised that they do have an American actor playing Goku. An actor who, to my knowledge, is not particularly good and has little to no martial arts experience. Then again, maybe they chose to make the whole freaking cast Asian aside from Goku, Bulma, and Piccolo to help express the idea that these guys are different, special. Then again, I wouldn't expect any director on this project to think like that.

Any good director might have thought of this. Maybe she's not asian in the movie because she's supposed to be a genius, and therefore special. I dunno. See the above quote for why I'm not going to think about this any further.

it looks... i wanna say decent, but i don't know.
i guess from the history of anime to US movies, it looks alright. not good but alright.
it doesn't seem to have that comedic feel that the DB series had.
but from what i've heard the trailers are usually just parts that make a person go "cool, that looks awesome" or something like that.

when they make a movie based on a series, i like to think they thought of the time restrains and felt that certain elements had to be cut out or else the movie will go on for more then 2hrs or not have a definite ending that sequels will HAVE to be made in order to finish the story of the first movie.

I'll probably see it like I saw MK, MKII, Street Fighter, and the upcoming Tekken Live-Action Movie.

live action tekken better be at least bearable. and nina better be as awesome and baddass and great as she is in the games and BETTER be given a prominent role. i am most looking forward to seeing xiaoyu, since it's played by the same actress as the one who played gogo yubari in kill bill (i loved her in KB and she was awesome, so i think she'll make xiaoyu awesome)

nicholai, it's because it's one of those things you HAVE to see. not for the awesomeness, but for the suckiness. it could become one of those "so bad it's good" movies. but who knows, they may surprise us and make it good.

For those of you who may not know, Fox have confirmed that the leaked trailer is not official, and also that the Giant Ape/Ozaru shown in the previous page was just a test and not the final look.

Good news. FOX has informed me that the previous photo of Goku’s Oozaru form was only a temporary test. They went on saying it wasn’t official and is NOT the final look for him. When the end of the year hits, we will probably see the true form along with several other promo pictures, so look forward to that. And we should all remember that when leaked pictures hit the internet, we shouldn’t take them seriously since they can be quite misleading.

As for the trailer, it will officially be released on December 12, to premier alongside The Day The Earth Stood Still.

As for the movie itself, I dont like the idea anymore than the rest of you (Truth be told, Id hate it even more if they tried to make it more like the anime. Some things just dont fly in live-action), but I plan to enjoy this film for what it is: A new take on the Dragon Ball story.

And for the record, in the event that whats been leaked turns out to be the official trailer, then I for one praise it for doing what a teaser trailer should do: Avoid giving away too much of the movie.

Well, my only hope is that it won't be as bad as the Fist of The North Star movie from a while back...
