Prologue -Earth Rise-: I've been waiting for this track. XD It's basically the track used at LIVE EARTH before and after she performed Heavenly Star / Breeze, I believe. Love it!

Intermediate -Orbit Swimming: Sparkly. It seems to mix a bunch of vocals from the new album tracks.

I will: Mmm! Funky sort of Daft Punk-lite sound! I love this sort of thing. Lyrics are some of the strangest in terms of grammar from the team behind Genki Rockets, but eh. They're Japanese people writing English lyrics. I'm sad that the girl from the USA who is Lumi doesn't proofread. XD

Star Surfer: OMG. The waves in the beginning are so soothing. Introduction instrumentals are sort of peppy and an electro/acoustic mix. This song is kinda like Heavenly Star's slightly less pretty twin. I used to think the verses didn't fit the chorus, but the chorus is just more energized as opposed to the more laidback verses. D: The bridge in this is so trancy. LOL.

Never Ever: OMG SAD. :[ I didn't really expect them to have a ballad like this sort of thing... piano and synth strings only. Wah! Makes me want to cry. Definitely my favorite track on this album. English -> Japanese is too Angela Aki's "Kiss from a Rose" for me. D: I LIKED IT IN ENGLISH. Oh well, BEAUTIFUL ANYWAAAY. LOVE ITTTT. THE STRINGS ARE SO GORGEOUS <3333

Fly!: Oh no, it's starting out really American. WOAH WHY IS HER VOICE SO WEIRD. "I'M FEELING FRESH IN THE CLEAR BLUE SOMETHING." Seriously, what the heck happened to her voice? It got really nasally. Okay song, but definitely not as good as some of the other tracks.

Star Line (Japanese Version), Breeze (Remixes): It's so strange hearing it in Japanese. I like it though. Seems like it was written in Japanese first and then switched to English.. D: Remixes are as hot as you'd expect them to be. Breeze is just so amazing that it doesn't matter who remixes it. :D Woah wtf, LATIN SUMMER AFTERNOON? XD

No, thats not true. All of the PVs so far, have A-ha's Take on Me music video art rendering style. Heavenly Star has the most, but Breeze and Star Line have it too--to a much lesser extent. Just look at "Lumi's hair in Breeze and Star Line...

And I posted the other singer on the first page. According to one of the snapshots the TC posted.. One of the last ones are the "credits" section, GR appears to only credit 2 singers. Rachel Rhodes, and Nami Miyahara.

Hmmm.... Why is it that Q! Entertainment said that it was a bunch of vocalists... They either must have been lying, or they are telling the truth, but covering it up. I dunno, but I still think the voice is complete CG, because you can hear some flubs at certain parts in some songs, and no one can hold a solo for that long as far as I know...

ALSO:

If there is just 1 or 2 vocalists, and it's not CG, then how do you explain the different remixes of Heavenly Star?

I mean, in the original version you got her singing regularly, but in the LnM Projekt remix her voice is fast paced, different breathing patterns, but the same tone, and when she says "Step into the sky" she holds it longer. And in "Floating Remix" she holds the vocal solo from "Step into the sky" for more than like, 10 seconds. Without decreasing and increasing tune AT ALL! Hmmm.... Why is it that Q! Entertainment said that it was a bunch of vocalists... They either must have been lying, or they are telling the truth, but covering it up. I dunno, but I still think the voice is complete CG, because you can hear some flubs at certain parts in some songs, and no one can hold a solo for that long as far as I know...

Well.. Obviously in songs nowadays, and their remixes, you can tamper with their voices... Especially since "Lumi" isn't real, GR can do anything they want with the voices. I'm pretty sure Rachel Rhodes and Nami Miyahara sing for "Lumi" though.



As for anyone else.. Who knows. I posted Nami's site on the first page--and you can hear her singing in the beginning. It definitely sounds familar to one of the "singers" in GR.

Hell.. I'm starting to doubt again if--Rachel Rhodes poses as "Lumi"'s model in all the PVS and album art.

Just to set things straight, they use only two vocalists, but I believe that they use pitch-correcting software on both voices [of course, the main voice that we hear is Rachel Rhodes' voice] which is why the voice sounds so "clear"~

Also, they record acappella tracks for each song, which means it's just the vocals with no background track whatsoever, in order to make the remixes. Basically, the remixers take this and change the pitch/tempo/whatever the hell they want and lay the vocals on top of their "beats" or whatever. What you're explaining is physically impossible [duh] unless you're an INCREDIBLE singer, which I doubt Rachel Rhodes/Nami Miyahara are. However, the fact that you can distort vocals with programming allows them to sound like they are. I don't think you know how remixes are created.. o_o

Q Entertainment only said that vocalists were used which is EXACTLY the case. Two vocalists are used to create the LUMI voice. They were lying at all.

There's only one model too. You have to remember that Heavenly Star was probably shot when Rachel was 13/14. She's older now. And the model in the PVs are NOT Asian looking at all. It's not hard to tell that it's Rachel at all! She's obviously the model. Only having a few photos of her as Rachel and having 4 videos and a booklet of photos of her as Lumi can't change that.

I searched around and found her modeling work for ROYAL HALL YOKOHAMA as a bride. Seems like the makeup for LUMI really makes a difference, as she uses some really heavy mascara and stuff..

tbh, their filming methods seem really simple. They took Rachel Rhodes, put her in a white outfit [or of some other easily edited color] and filmed her in a studio with a green-screen. They edited all of the special effects stuff into the green screen as well as the color of her clothing using whatever software they have. Then they'd apply some sort of filter onto LUMI to have her have that distinct overly contrasted look, and there you have it. :\

Possibly.. BUT.. the animations footage in that youtube link you posted doesn't even look real. Lumi in Breeze and Star Line look like real people--not X-box 360/PS3 looking.

I wouldn't be surprised if Lumi is part CGI in breeze and star line.. But for the most part, she is based on real people. And like you said.. The face especially.

That demo was only a video game character! Have you seen the "I Love Lucy" commercial? That advertised pharmaceutics? That was all edited from the original show. By that company.

So, they can mix them together and use facial expression computers to make them sing, and in turn, be able to have their models have 3D effects like in Breeze, and Star Line!

I NEVER said that Rachel Rhodes is 100% Asian! In fact I said at least 2-3 times that she doesn't look 100% In my opinion. What I said was that--in the heavenly star, and breeze vid, "Lumi" or RR or whoever else models looks 100% Asian, to me.

I don't think any of us know with 100% certainty if all the models in the videos and album art pics is Rachel Rhodes. For all we know--it could be a mixture of her and the other singer. Other than the make-up and hairstyle differences, for all we could assume.. There could have been some CGI editing in between that was completely made up--or borrowed from more than one model.

I don't want to sound selfish but.. I hope not. Not that Nami isn't pretty--cause she sure isn't bad looking in my eyes.. But--other than both of them lending their voices for GR, the more real "Lumi" is--the better imo. Besides the fact that.. RR happens to be closer to Lumi's age then Nami's..

But if Lumi really does happen to be a fused version of RR and NM, then I'd have to say Lumi looks great still anyway.

Thats a nice find you got there about the "Ru-Mi" name origin. I read that article earlier today before posting the site that leads to the Lumi July 2 video. Are you Japanese--because you sure seem to be good at translating lately.. Or are you using babel fish? (;

And mind posting it in Wikipedia in Genki Rocket's homepage? I added on the info about them being the two singers, as well as making a page for RR from her Japanese name (since the page for Rachel Rhodes seems to be about a female superhero vampire of some sort lol).

You know what sounds reasonable? I think they used RR as a reference for Lumi. Like, body-wise. They then took her face and edited it a little bit to make it look unique and such. So, Lumi as an image I think is CGI, with RR as an OUTLINE for her body and face a little bit. That explains why she looks so different than the actual model that people say pose for Lumi.

Now for voice, it's definitely through a vocoder, no doubt about that. It was said by Q? Entertainment before. We know who the vocalists are, and we know there are two of them, so they obviously mixed them together, and put them through a vocoder. They obviously sang of course, they were just mixed and made to sound unique. It's completely possible and easy to do. Daft punk has been doing it for years.

Examples that they are doing this is because when she was talking, she would pause for a second, and quickly start again when she was talking at the live concert. I mean, she said "The earth is moving around-*split second* slowly" This obviously isn't due to bad english, because they can make her say words fast and clear in the songs, so they obviously weren't trying now, so that's why.

Still don't believe me? Take this into account:

We are in a time and age where you cannot believe everything you hear or see, or even things you THINK. Everything is computerized and done by advanced technology. You can't look at everything on TV or real life even and say "Oh, that's 100% real, you can do that!"

Take that into account when you think "They cannot do that with Lumi! It's not possible to have THAT MUCH realistic CGI! Impossible" When, how do you know it's not possible? Well, during the concert, they simply play the song over the speakers, so the voice thing isn't an issue there. I'm pretty confused as to whether or not Rachel Rhodes is fluent in English.. perhaps she was born in North Carolina but moved over when she was a kid?

Since the actual footage (between the rendered drawings)--doesn't seem to be edited.. except that she looks black and white. And RR's body type is very similar to Lumi's.. They're both really slim. Then again.. who knows..

For breeze and star line.. That's tough. Maybe we can try to find a bunch of pictures of the other singer and guess which of her 'body parts' could have contributed for Lumi. Also..
Can we distinguish the two parts of voices in a single, like "Heavenly Star" and determine who sings who? Perhaps those are the first steps for us to finding out who "Lumi" really is.

Interesting! And here I was totally convinced that her speaking voice sounded remarkably like Yuna Ito. I'm really interested in the newer songs that aren't at all electronica; I'm honestly willing to bet that songs like "never ever" were sung by just one person, and thus probably was sung by Rachel. Fly! sounded nothing like Lumi, so I have to attribute it to Nami, plus the vocals sound like your standard anime OP/ED songs.

I have actually tried the frequency merge process out and found out several things:

1) it's remarkably hard to hide any overlap between the voices, especially at breath points and held notes.
2) one voice will be always dominant over the other. even mixing an already-filtered together voice 1 and voice 2 with a third voice doesn't really blend it any more.
3) if your voice has vibrato in it, it's remarkably hard to pull it off.

though I'm probably using much cheaper software than they do. *G*

If play-asia took an entire weekend to ship my CD--I would have canceled my order and just downloaded the CD.. But they surprised me and shipped it 2 days after release day though..

Everything you just quoted now in that "uniqueness" section, was written/typed by me last week, after the album was released, and with zeopower6's convincing that RR being the model of "Lumi," I too believed the same, and I edited the original article And.. By cover model--I didn't mean motion model, but just rachel rhodes represents Lumi, and no one else. In ALL the music videos and the art.

I didn't mean to say [Lumi] is entirely or almost completely computer-generated in the sense that Lumi is all made up.. I just meant the whole black and white, and purple tinting of her body--with the A-ha art rendering (in Heavenly Star, and it appears in Lumi's hair in Breeze and Star Line)--is computer generated. Anyway thats what I believed when I typed that.

Now, I'm not so sure..

A vocoder was designed to copy voice and vocal patterns and repeat them back in other ways. As in, you could have someone say "Hello" and have them use just THOSE vocal patterns to say "Hello, I am (so and so) and I work with the phone company, how are you?"

So if they sang in different pitches, and used a vocoder, they could use those different voice patterns and have "Lumi" say anything they wanted, including singing. Of course, it takes days, weeks, and even monthes to do, but the end result is what you literally see in Genki Rockets' songs.

I'm probably going to buy Genki Rocket's CD sometime in the future, when I get money (I currently just told my parents to cut off plans for buying the CD, that I found it online, and I'm getting a video game instead...)

In order for a vocoder to work, you need whatever you want said to be said. That's how many of Perfume/capsule/Yasutaka Nakata's works are made.. they sing the lyrics and run it through a vocoder and auto-tune. Look it up if you have to. You can't just be like "I'm gonna edit this to be like someone's voice using a small sample of their voice!" I think that's a different program... something very similar to the VOCALOID system in Japan.

And.. Now that you mention it.. GR isn't exactly a big company with a big budget--thats something I agree with also. Although.. I heard the record label that GR signed up with--have contracts with really popular well-known asian artists.

It's all pretty much the same quality as the rip on myspace. I equalized the audio.

And avex trax has a lot of money, but they save it for their better artists. Like Ayumi Hamasaki [my #1 favorite artist. Her latest tour cost like 2.6 billion yen to produce, and she has some of the most expensive music videos ever.. 100 million yen for one PV.. @_@] Most, if not all the time, they spend way less on their minor artists though. Plus, avex just has them on the record label. I don't think anything is made through them like the artists that are actually on their label. [Like, Namie Amuro is distributed by avex, but is managed by Vision Factory, so nothing is really up to avex]~ Like see how there's a GenkiRockets.com that's separate from http://avexnet.or.jp/genki ? That's a sign that they're not really owned by avex.


And about Zeopower6's review on it, about it being "American" could get offensive to some people (Me) since they could be american. the most probable reason is for it sounding japanese one moment or american the next is because (this is assuming RR is the dominant voice) Rachel Rhodes herself is japanese/american...

Anyway.. This all seems very interesting, no doubt about that. TPcIQ is going to make a thread (or he already did?) just about Lumi. Wanna move our discussion there? That is--if he provides a Link.

Anyway--I think we have a good lead in.. And I've been thinking since last night..

There seems to be 2 different fundamental sets of questions right?

1. Who is Lumi? "What entities is she made of?" Is it just RR only, or more than one model.. or maybe its also part CG too (part of actual body that is.. not the SFX)

2. Now that we pretty much know the two main singers.. Rachel Rhodes and Nami Miyahara.. Who isn't interested in knowing.. Who is the one with the dominant voice? And who sings most of the time (or equally), in each and every song?

And so thus...

I believe we should split into two teams.

The Audio Team

I believe me and Lunk will be the best candidate for the job for this. He can't help but talk about vocoders and voice synthization. And me.. I'm actually NOW more interested in this part, then the other team (which I will explain soon). I don't consider myself as an audophile, but I do think I have a keen sense of ears. I REALLY want to get to the bottom of the line of this--and find out who's sings what part in each and every song.. And then ultimately find out, who is the dominant singer (there has to be one no? Or maybe equal participation).

Now in terms of audio.. We have 4 videos already. 1 from Nami Miyahara, and 3 from RR.

I honestly believe ThemPussycatsIsQuick, and Zeopower6 will do well in this catagoroy. If TPcIQ can spot a "mole" in the middle of a music video, I believe he really is on to something... And Zeopower6... He's the one who found out that.. RR, is indeed the model (or one of the models) or "Lumi." who also happens to be 1 of 2 of the major singers in this band. And he's good at taking good close up shots of "Lumi.."

Say Zeopower6, do you think you can take a pic of "Lumi" from all the GR videos.. Including the beginning video cip you just posted now of her talking in the white background? Post some pics of her in Heavenly Star, Breeze, the beginning video clip where she is talking in Breeze, Star Line, those two new Lumi Videos (7/2 and 7/7), and post them along with the 2 RR pics from the first page (from her 4springspage), and the 2 Nami Miyahara pics from page 3

Please, you say I have crackpot theories when you guys are believing something on a CD case. Genki Rockets and Q? Entertainment have said that the voice was CG, made with at least several different voice tracks combined into one, and played back. NEWS FLASH: DAFT PUNK DID IT! Heard "One More Time" ? That was using the same method they use in genki rockets. And that was made in 2000. It sounded real enough. Well, now we are in 2006 - 2008. It's very possible to replicate a voice from other female voices. We as a majority adapt and make new technological advances very rapidly and quickly, and I will give a quick example:

1961: Man goes into space.
1969: Man lands on the moon.

This was 8 years and we got a man on the moon, a feat that, before, would have taken longer, maybe dozens of years.

How does this relate to our discussion? It shows that we can do extraordinary things in a short amount of time. So, lets say, Daft Punk uses this technology in 2000. Genki Rockets uses it and perfectly perfects it in 2006/2007. It's not that hard. Don't believe the logic you learned in school, or stuff that you "think" might happen. Because, listen, what I'm saying right now, is not what I "think" is happening, I know for a fact that it's happening. How? Well, too many awesome things have happened in the history of technology, so I can't NOT believe in something amazing.

Would you really want to be stuck believing a CD case, that the company made? (Believe me, if you owned a name like Genki Rockets, would you want to release who was singing in it, and how you literally and exactly made it? Yep.. Thats pretty obvious. People in music videos (musicians/models) don't usually going around having the same hairstyle or "overall look" in every single video and shoot, especially women. Its really up to the producers/directors/make-up artists, etc when it comes to their image, right? I perfectly understand why she looks different (make-up/hairstyle wise. its common sense)

Anyway I just find it really annoying that GR didn't credit to who "Lumi" is, and (they may never wil physically), we always have to second guess ourselves our instincts on who does/is what and imagine the reality, GR isn't telling us, as if it was in the form of an evil scheme. For example.. The cover for the album--is so realistic for me imo.. I don't see how that could be edited much.. It looks like one model to me.. But then--the music videos.. Damn who knows? "Lumi" really could be more than one model.. Or it could be one.. I'm even starting to have doubts if RR is the cover in Heavenly Star.. She looks really different in every video--it just makes me thing.. There has to be something CGI with Lumi, other than the lighting... Although.. I think the clip where "Lumi" starts to sing when the "mic" appears to be 100% RR.

After listening to Heavenly Star and Breeze a couple thousand times, and trying to figure who the voices of NM and RR are in each song.. I have a hypothesis.. That based on those 2 singers voices.. I think NM is the dominant singer in Heavenly Star, and RR is the dominant singer in Breeze.. and Star Line.

I also think RR is the definitely the dominant singer in "Never Ever" (even after listening 90 second snippet).


Oh and holy crap... In Smile.. I can hear both of them singing throughout most of the sings.. So its mixed between the two. I think RR sings (no distance could far us.. take a new chance, step, talking over) the
until "united as one" starts.. I can easily tell both are singing in the same time.

I think NM sings the main chorus (smile, can't dream I'm dreaming.. nothing matters, keep on smiling, keep on going on).

Anyway, if I had the lyrics sheet in front of me--I think I could recognize who's singing who, based on their voices easily.. I think this track is easily the most recognizable way to tell which sings which part.. so far its one of the least synthesized I've heard from the 4 single0s (and for you guys--the rest of the album, besides "never ever".. I think most of us will agree that Heavenly Star is the most sythesized.. right?

How does this relate to our discussion? It shows that we can do extraordinary things in a short amount of time. So, lets say, Daft Punk uses this technology in 2000. Genki Rockets uses it and perfectly perfects it in 2006/2007. It's not that hard. Don't believe the logic you learned in school, or stuff that you "think" might happen. Because, listen, what I'm saying right now, is not what I "think" is happening, I know for a fact that it's happening. How? Well, too many awesome things have happened in the history of technology, so I can't NOT believe in something amazing.

Would you really want to be stuck believing a CD case, that the company made? (Believe me, if you owned a name like Genki Rockets, would you want to release who was singing in it, and how you literally and exactly made it? I know I wouldn't so I would use a basic saying like "we used a vocoder and combined the voices" instead of giving out the whole process)

"Stuck believing?" The album had more information that Star Line / Smile and Heavenly Star / Breeze ever did. I'm pretty sure that they were letting us know everyone that was behind the Genki Rockets band thing. If you think it's some conspiracy, fine by me. D: This isn't something amazing! It's a medium-budgeted J-pop concept band. That's all that it is! D: Their techniques don't cost much money and just about anyone could do what they did if they had the equipment [as Q Entertainment probably does]~ :| You're making this out to be a lot more than it actually is.

The Japanese are taking this as "Oh, this girl is Lumi" and people are accepting it, so why not you too? I don't see why you have to put all these weird "lol technological leap!!!"-theories into your "speculation" about Genki Rockets. By giving us the information necessary [all vocalists involved, as well as all choral vocals], they're giving us a trail of clues that lead us to the final conclusion. If you wanna be someone that believes in something simply because they don't want to accept the truth, go right ahead. o_o

And back to the TPCiQ's saying about her "mole"... LOL. It was probably a speck on the film or something, or maybe a spot on the monitor.

About the Nami vs. Rachel things.. it seems like they're generally used equally throughout all of the tracks save for Fly!. Perhaps you could just be hearing things that you want to hear when you say that you can "totally hear both of them". I think Q generally uses them same kind of production for their works.

Well, it's probably because they wanted to make Heavenly Star groundbreaking, and thus it had as many vocalists as possible to create a more unique sound. Of course, reaction was incredible, and everyone loved it, so they made more. :\

So, Q;inc seems to be producing an entire album of Winter J-pop song covers with the very same vocoder-esque effects that Genki Rockets has. [all of the producers for Q:______ stuff are from the same people who do Genki Rockets]

Yes, it appears a lot in Breeze, but because Heavenly Star is semi-sketched out in every other frame, it doesn't show up as much.

I finally got the album via mail--yesterday.

All the tracks I haven't heard so far (which aren't the regular 4 singles), are much better than I thought! Listening to it right now--Star Surfer and Never Ever rocks!

EDIT: Fly! really does sound Americanized--but its not bad. I really like it! I can tell Nami Miyahara is the dominant vocalist singer in this track.

Well, Fly! really is different from the rest. I think Japan really thought so too. LOL.

The reason Fly! is really different is because it's a more "Graceful" song than most of the album. I mean, it's at the end, it has that "EPIC GRACE!" vibe to it... (The chorus, "Drifting the clouds, Moving the stars and, Reaching (the) moon, It's passing all shinny raaaaaaaaaaaays... Release me free from gravity and fly awaaaaaaaaaay) She like increases and starts singing louder along with the instruments, and that's where it's different a little bit. Because she goes so high, so slowly, then drops instantly. And they use more electric guitars.

This is why I have always said they are more of an "Experimental" band than just one genre. They practice with new music and even new music creators! (Star Surfer's music was made by A-bee after all, who made songs like "calling" and "MUSIC" which were a completely different genre to GR)

And also, if you look, each song is made by a different person... Well, the music is. Like Fly! was done by Kousuke Noma, who did the song「un-」for kAT-TUN III - QUEENS OF PIRATES which is a "Hard Rock Tune" type genre.

It's technically not "J-Pop" since none of it's in JAPANESE! ^-^ (Except half of Never Ever) Look on the Japanese iTunes shop, they say "Pop" when they actually do have a separate section called "J-Pop". It's mostly "House" "Dance" "Pop" or "Electronica"...

It makes all the difference if it's done by a different composer. There is a difference between EACH song. None of them sound 80% the same. They all have a different beat and are arranged according to the composer's needs. Pretty much, all the arrangement managers say "Ok, we have [this much] time, we need you to make a beat that long, we need an increase in beat here, here, and here, and we need it to have a [so and so] feel to it" Then the composer goes in and gives it his best shot, and since Genki Rocket's choose the best composers, they don't usually have many problems.

Also, an example of the difference between songs:

A-bee. The composer for Star Surfer, always did this in his songs... He would have certain beats come out of one side of the headphones/speakers and have them play in a certain pattern. He did this in "calling" and "MUSIC". All the other songs either have a certain form of this, like in Breeze, it's an orchestra of beats going from the left, to right, to middle, to BAM. With I will, it is sort of an echo effect at the beginning. It goes in one ear, and then echos to the other ear. With Star Surfer, it stays in one ear, doesn't echo to the other ear, and then kicks in with the main beat.

So each song is different depending on the composers... It always has been in music history, and always will be. If it isn't, no companies would sell CDs!

And Fly! ? They probably played the beat for the singers and said "How would you sing to this?" and they probably sang the same way you hear it now. I would have probably made the same choice of singing too :/

They did not change singers for Heavenly Star. They added Rin Oikawa, who works on the Q;indivi project to that one Heavenly Star was the jewel or w/e since it ended up having the most women actually singing behind the voice of Lumi. Also, Rin's voice is really easy to pick out.

I'm not saying that the tracks don't sound different but that some people are taking this album way too seriously. It's J-pop. Pop that is released in Japan by Japanese people for the Japanese masses. There's nothing to get all musically philosophical about because it's just an album made to create money. It's not like they were trying to create art here. @_@

My take on the album is that it was a project that they wanted to go on with instead of stopping with Heavenly Star, and it's fun for them. They aren't trying to break boundaries or be musically diverse and sparkly love sparkles... ugh. The point I'm trying to get at is that this is just an album. Why make a big deal about the composers and stuff when the group isn't even worthy of this analysis? So what if they use auto-tune and vocoder? So what if there's a different composer every song? So what?

I still really like this album, but I'm incredibly tired of talking about it. We know who is singing behind the scenes and we know who Lumi is. What else is there to talk about really? I sorta uh, don't really care any more. If they release a new CD, yay, I'm happy, but any further discussion about the "way they crafted -insert song here-" and stuff is just trying to extend a dead discussion beyond its grave. @_@

Well.. I just noticed today-- The Stratos Mix of Smile by Metal Mouse, is pretty much all RR.. I'm pretty sure they didn't include any of NM's voice in it..

Possibly Although me personally, I don't really hear them sing simultaneously in Smile. And if they do, I don't think the producers got them singing the chorus seperately and just decided to "layer" them. but who knows..

RR covers most of the regular lyrics, and it seems to me that they alternate singing the chorus--with NM singing the Chorus most of the time--in the original "Smile."

Metal Mouse seem to prefer RR's voice more in Smile and other singles they've remixed. So it could be as simple as just taking out NM's part, and repeating RR singing the chorus--if both of them don't sing simultaneously.

It's so worth it! Rez is one of my favourite games of all time, and Child of Eden surpasses it...playing it with Kinect is so much more immersive. Can't remember the last time a game had me grinning ear to ear so consistently.

Huh? GR music in CoE is awesome. I listen to the game mixes all the time. I hope that they are able to do more games with GR music.

Rez did NOT use Genki Rockets music. They didn't exist then. And Rachel Rhodes would have only been 7 or 8 when Rez was released.
