Thanks a lot.

May I ask, was this encoded from the original CD or it is a PS2 rip? Because it's strange that the sample rate is 48khz (the sample rate of the PS2 music files) instead of 44khz (which all CDs have).

This is, unfortunately, a PS2 rip, as you surmised. The CD is impossible to find, so I had to make do with a rip from my own copy of the game.

I felt comfortable referring to this is Shine because it's as close as anyone can get. I kept the sampling rate at 48000 to try to keep the quality as high as I could get it.

I also ripped the rest of the songs out of the CD, and will be uploading those later on. There are still 29 songs in the game that aren't on Shine or Water.

Sweet. Thanks for the trouble you've gone through for this release, Spellbreaker. Downloading now.

I am uploading a ZIP file that contains all of the songs I ripped out of the PS2 game that aren't included on Water or Shine. It also includes an updated version of Crescent [ blue moon mix ] that's closer to the one on Shine. AND it includes the four songs Masafumi Takada composed specifically for the Nintendo DS version of Flower, Sun, and Rain, Owaranai Rakuen. Basically, if you already have Water, then you can grab the Shine rip above, and this one here, and you'll finally have as close to a complete FSR soundtrack as anyone could ask for.

DOWNLOAD HERE (http://www.filefactory.com/file/d998ee/n/Flower_Sun_and_Rain_zip)

All songs are properly tagged with cover art.

Track listing:
01: Anata no tameni
02: Hello!! Memory Card
03: H.T.A.
04: Just for you
05: Haunted Hotel
06: Phantom Sister
07: Star-Shaped Hotel
08: Mr. Pirate
09: Maria Nicharesuk
10: Get on a boat
11: The Balboa Brothers
12: Sōsa
13: Sadness
14: Crescent
15: Wedding
16: Hotel Theater
17: Shelter Policy
18: To the roof
19: Morishima Code
21: Crescent (Final Mix)
22: Cuban Overture (Tunnel Mix)
23: Time Loop
24: Sue and KATH
25: Reminiscences (Bridgenia Mix)
26: Welcome Home
27: An American in Paris 2
28: KATHARINE #2
29: Final KATHARINE
Bonus 1: Airportman
Bonus 2: Anata no tameni II
Bonus 3: Lost and Found
Bonus 4: Welcome to Lospass II
Bonus 5: Morishima Tokio

None of these songs are Topdrunkee's rips. They do sometimes share titles, because I liked some of the names he gave to his rips, but these were extracted from the game myself. Cases in point are Shelter Policy and Deep shot of midnight sun, which feature additional sections or different arrangements than his.

The four bonus songs are from the DS game, and it can be assumed they were composed by Masafumi Takada alone or with Jun Fukuda. It says as much in the DS game's credits. Airportman was, I think, what replaced Sleepy KATH in the DS game.

Also, if anyone's interested, I could probably upload high-quality versions of the Flower, Sun, and Rain OP and the Welcome to Lospass video. Heck, I could even put Welcome to Lospass II as the background song if anyone really wants that. Either way, they'd be better than anything you'd find on YouTube, and probably also Stage6 back when it was around.

Again, thanks for all your hard work.

I did a quick search but couldn't find anything... is Water available anywhere on the forums?

I'm not sure if it's available here. A few people besides me mentioned that they had it. Given enough time, I'll probably end up uploading it. Especially since it's no longer sold through Grasshopper's online store.

In the meantime, I put the Welcome to Lospass II video on YouTube. Watch it here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaGEl2VI-ew). The song really isn't as good, in my opinion, as the original Welcome to Lospass, but the combo of the two isn't on YouTube yet. The original video used to be on YouTube, but now I can't find it anymore. Oh well.

Spellbreaker thanks for both albums, did you play FSR and by anychance got the storyline?

I have played FSR, but all I've been able to glean from the story was the same stuff that they talk about at the Killer7 Syndicate. I don't really understand Japanese all that well, but I have a feeling that Koshimizu didn't really know what the Silver Case was at all before this game. It seems he got confused when Edo Macalister told Koshi that Step stole Sumio's silver attach case, and that's why he chased Step to the spice shop.

I think the biggest hurdle preventing Americans from understanding this game is that it's in Japanese. I do hope the rumors of an European version being released in October are true, since that'll probably have an English translation.

By the way, did you notice that I recently uploaded one of the Silver Case remix albums (DESTRUCTOR) to this place?

I was informed of this thread back when it first started, but I never really bothered with it.
I only joined, because I wanted access to your downloads, but it looks like the links have already expired... ah well.

How the devil did you rip Tokio's theme? I've been trying to rip that song for ages, but I can't find it anywhere in the FSR disc.

The original video used to be on YouTube, but now I can't find it anymore. Oh well.
My account was suspended, again. I swear it's turned into a long running joke.
"How long will topdrunk's latest youtube account last."

This is, unfortunately, a PS2 rip, as you surmised. The CD is impossible to find, so I had to make do with a rip from my own copy of the game.
Nothing wrong with rips. It's GHM's fault for never releasing a full four disc cd to one of the greatest soundtacks that I've ever heard.
(The PS2 version at least. The DS port kinda sucks, because all of the songs have either been noticeably downgraded, are missing entire verses & loops, or have been cut out completely due to licensing issues.)

They do sometimes share titles, because I liked some of the names he gave to his rips, but these were extracted from the game myself. Cases in point are Shelter Policy and Deep shot of midnight sun, which feature additional sections or different arrangements than his.
I didn't come up with the names for Deep Shot of Midnight Sun, & Shelter policy.
Deep shot of midnight sun is the official title from Shine, and Shelter Policy is just a FSR remix of the Shelter Children policy theme from Silver Case.
Morishima code is a name that I made up. The only time you hear that song is during Kill the Past, when you meet Tokio Morishima.
(The reporter from Silver Case.)

I have played FSR, but all I've been able to glean from the story was the same stuff that they talk about at the Killer7 Syndicate. I don't really understand Japanese all that well, but I have a feeling that Koshimizu didn't really know what the Silver Case was at all before this game.

The term "Silver Case" is just political terminology that references a political assassin that occurred during 1979, of March.
Sundance sent a top assassin from his FSO party to eliminate the politicians from CCO/TRO talks who were trying to legalize the "shelter children policy"

Officially the Silver Case incident was what originally caused Sundance to lose all of his political clout. Which is why we see him in Micronesia at hotel FSR rather than leading a political faction.
The reality is that the term "Silver Case" is just a cover up for a conspiracy, The conspiracy used Sundance, & Kamui as scapegoats.

It seems he got confused when Edo Macalister told Koshi that Step stole Sumio's silver attach case, and that's why he chased Step to the spice shop.
Koshimizu is one of Sumio's old friends.
http://killer7.3dactionplanet.gamespy.com/sumio.htm
He was prolly confused with the attache case, because Sumio never carried that around prior to the times before Sumio was incarcerated for terrorism during the original Silver Case game.
(Sumio was part of a terrorist trio known as the Mikumo boizu, aka the Three Wise Monkeys. The 3 wise monkeys of Killer 7 were Kikazaru, Mizaru & Iwazaru.)
Something happened to Sumio ever since he arrived at FSR, but I won't spoil it here at this site.
Lets just say that he has a similar Emir Parkreiner problem. When it comes to identifying himself. IMO, Emir seems to be the American version of Sumio.
Both of them are orphaned by their respective governments, etc.

As for that silver Attache case, it's nothing really. It's just Sumio's partner Katherine.
(Which coincidentally happens to be the same name as Emir Parkreiner's mother.)
Step is just a shelter child. Sundance claims that Step is the one who controls Sumio's destiny.
I'd get more in depth about what the plot of FSR was about, because a lot of people assume that FSR is just a childish cooking mama game.
When in reality FSR is a surreal tale about government conspiracies.
Not unlike Silver Case & Killer 7. (Although FSR is actually a sidequel to Silver Case.)
But we might as well be speaking in chinese or japanese, because nobody is going to know what we're talking about.

Here's a recent thread where I explain what FSR actually is, and who Ed Macalister is working for. (He's a patsy.)
http://killer7.6.************/viewtopic.php?t=1176
In the end the plot revolves around the Hahchisuka vs Sundance political family rivalry, Sumio, & Sundance's identity, Toriko Kusabi, the silver eyes, and the shelter children policy.
All of these plot lines originated from Silver Case, so it makes I wonder why GHM ported FSR first.
FSR doesn't make any sense without Silver Case.

Note: FSR also alludes to Moonlight Syndrome a bit with the Yayoi character.
Mithra, the main antagonist from Moonlight Syndrome also makes an apperance during Killer 7's alter ego chapter.
(He's the silver haired twins.)

Holy cow!

I have to admit I never thought I'd see you responding to my posts here. I follow your stuff over at the SINdicate forums quite often.

Anyway, let's deal with your post one point at a time.

I was informed of this thread back when it first started, but I never really bothered with it.
I only joined, because I wanted access to your downloads, but it looks like the links have already expired... ah well.

Don't worry. I'll reupload them. Which ones do you want me to reupload? I have this one, but also the rest of FSR as well, and the entire catalogue of the music from the DS game, and also "The Silver #02: DESTRUCTOR" (and I even have #02+ PARADE as well).

How the devil did you rip Tokio's theme? I've been trying to rip that song for ages, but I can't find it anywhere in the FSR disc.

That's a bit strange, isn't it? My rip of Tokio's theme from FSR is actually from the DS version, which is why it's considerably shorter than the version from The Silver #01. I couldn't find it on the disc either. I've never played FSR on the PS2 (despite owning it), but only on the DS. I've heard your song rips before, and so when I got the point in the DS game when Sue asks Sumio to fix her mop it starts playing this cool intro I've never heard before. I was wondering what it was when the song actually begins and I realize it's the Blue Moon Mix of Crescent. That intro doesn't seem to be included in the game disc either, but I don't know if it still plays in the game.

I do know that the intro plays in the official song released on the Shine album, because you can hear it in the sample on this website (http://www.grasshopper.co.jp/ghmr/listen050801.html). I used the intro from the DS game and mixed it with the version of Crescent from the PS2 game to make it seem more complete.

I know. I've heard many of Masafumi Takada's works so far, and while they're all awesome (even his early stuff at Human before he started working with Suda51), I think that Flower, Sun, and Rain is his best soundtrack.

If you've never heard the songs from the PS2 version, the DS version isn't too bad. I actually thought that the DS version of Rhapsody in Blue was pretty cool, until I heard the sample from the website I mentioned above. That was when I became determined to acquire a copy of the PS2 version so I could rip the songs out.

And of course, the DS version has a couple of brand new songs, like Anata no Tameni II, Welcome to Lospass II, and one I call "Lost and Found". Another song which I thought was new I called Airportman (it plays at the end, when you're defusing the bombs), but then I realized it's just Sleepy KATH without F.S.R.

I don't really understand why they went through such lengths to get rid of any reference to F.S.R. or Welcome to Lospass. In the booklet for the Water CD it says that F.S.R. was written by "Torn", which was a band Masafumi Takada himself was part of. (It was him and Shingo Yasumoto)

I knew you didn't make up Deep Shot of Midnight Sun, based on that site above, but I didn't know about Shelter Policy. And I really liked the name "Morishima Code". It seems appropriate for that scene. If I were basing the song names on the game files, Morishima Code would actually be called "KATHARINE #2", as that's what the files call it ("kasharin_ver2"), but I liked your name for it too much.

Actually, Morishima Code is one of my favorite songs from FSR, because that awesome guitar riff that plays throughout most of it is actually the background guitar riff from "The Silver Case". You can hear it in the original song, but it's more obvious in the versions on #02+ PARADE.

That could be, but it was certainly Edo's use of the adjective "Silver" to describe the case that caught Koshi's attention. He repeated it to himself several times.

Anyway, I've been following your threads on your forum concerning the Silver Case and FSR for a while now, so I already know most of what you're saying. There are some things I have trouble figuring out, like anything concerning Step, or what you've said as recently as 8/5 about who Edo really was. Maybe I should start posting over there, too...

Anyway, like I said, let me know what you want me to reupload and I'll do it.

I totally missed this one. Could you please upload again the Flower_Sun_and_Rain_zip file? I also would love to see the opening and the Welcome to Lospass videos in high quality! I love the Welocme to Lospass song.
