I was informed of this thread back when it first started, but I never really bothered with it.
I only joined, because I wanted access to your downloads, but it looks like the links have already expired... ah well.
How the devil did you rip Tokio's theme? I've been trying to rip that song for ages, but I can't find it anywhere in the FSR disc.
The original video used to be on YouTube, but now I can't find it anymore. Oh well.
My account was suspended, again. I swear it's turned into a long running joke.
"How long will topdrunk's latest youtube account last."
This is, unfortunately, a PS2 rip, as you surmised. The CD is impossible to find, so I had to make do with a rip from my own copy of the game.
Nothing wrong with rips. It's GHM's fault for never releasing a full four disc cd to one of the greatest soundtacks that I've ever heard.
(The PS2 version at least. The DS port kinda sucks, because all of the songs have either been noticeably downgraded, are missing entire verses & loops, or have been cut out completely due to licensing issues.)
They do sometimes share titles, because I liked some of the names he gave to his rips, but these were extracted from the game myself. Cases in point are Shelter Policy and Deep shot of midnight sun, which feature additional sections or different arrangements than his.
I didn't come up with the names for Deep Shot of Midnight Sun, & Shelter policy.
Deep shot of midnight sun is the official title from Shine, and Shelter Policy is just a FSR remix of the Shelter Children policy theme from Silver Case.
Morishima code is a name that I made up. The only time you hear that song is during Kill the Past, when you meet Tokio Morishima.
(The reporter from Silver Case.)
I have played FSR, but all I've been able to glean from the story was the same stuff that they talk about at the Killer7 Syndicate. I don't really understand Japanese all that well, but I have a feeling that Koshimizu didn't really know what the Silver Case was at all before this game.
The term "Silver Case" is just political terminology that references a political assassin that occurred during 1979, of March.
Sundance sent a top assassin from his FSO party to eliminate the politicians from CCO/TRO talks who were trying to legalize the "shelter children policy"
Officially the Silver Case incident was what originally caused Sundance to lose all of his political clout. Which is why we see him in Micronesia at hotel FSR rather than leading a political faction.
The reality is that the term "Silver Case" is just a cover up for a conspiracy, The conspiracy used Sundance, & Kamui as scapegoats.
It seems he got confused when Edo Macalister told Koshi that Step stole Sumio's silver attach case, and that's why he chased Step to the spice shop.
Koshimizu is one of Sumio's old friends.
http://killer7.3dactionplanet.gamespy.com/sumio.htm
He was prolly confused with the attache case, because Sumio never carried that around prior to the times before Sumio was incarcerated for terrorism during the original Silver Case game.
(Sumio was part of a terrorist trio known as the Mikumo boizu, aka the Three Wise Monkeys. The 3 wise monkeys of Killer 7 were Kikazaru, Mizaru & Iwazaru.)
Something happened to Sumio ever since he arrived at FSR, but I won't spoil it here at this site.
Lets just say that he has a similar Emir Parkreiner problem. When it comes to identifying himself. IMO, Emir seems to be the American version of Sumio.
Both of them are orphaned by their respective governments, etc.
As for that silver Attache case, it's nothing really. It's just Sumio's partner Katherine.
(Which coincidentally happens to be the same name as Emir Parkreiner's mother.)
Step is just a shelter child. Sundance claims that Step is the one who controls Sumio's destiny.
I'd get more in depth about what the plot of FSR was about, because a lot of people assume that FSR is just a childish cooking mama game.
When in reality FSR is a surreal tale about government conspiracies.
Not unlike Silver Case & Killer 7. (Although FSR is actually a sidequel to Silver Case.)
But we might as well be speaking in chinese or japanese, because nobody is going to know what we're talking about.
Here's a recent thread where I explain what FSR actually is, and who Ed Macalister is working for. (He's a patsy.)
http://killer7.6.************/viewtopic.php?t=1176
In the end the plot revolves around the Hahchisuka vs Sundance political family rivalry, Sumio, & Sundance's identity, Toriko Kusabi, the silver eyes, and the shelter children policy.
All of these plot lines originated from Silver Case, so it makes I wonder why GHM ported FSR first.
FSR doesn't make any sense without Silver Case.
Note: FSR also alludes to Moonlight Syndrome a bit with the Yayoi character.
Mithra, the main antagonist from Moonlight Syndrome also makes an apperance during Killer 7's alter ego chapter.
(He's the silver haired twins.)
