For a while now, I've been downloading albums from this site's various contributors, and did not know when I'd be able to repay the favor. Although this is a smallish upload of my own, I believe it will introduce a lot of you to something remarkable.

J. Cole's "Innertones"

01 "All Within Your Heart and Mind"
02 "Arches - Far Journeys"
03 "Spectral Winds, Inward Voices"
04 "Hear Earth"
05 "Arches II"
06 "Once Upon The Playground"

To anyone into extremely ambient, natural, instrumental music or choral works, this is very powerful, and I believe you will like it. It's all done with human voice, even though you'll find yourself doubting that at many times during the music. If you're wondering what type it is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Overtone_singing

Also, anyone who wants to learn more about the musician and hear samples can do so here: http://www.spectralvoices.com/secondpg.htm

This, ladies and gentlemen, is very awesome.
I'm a bit surprised about the filesize, tho... 20 MB for a 90 minutes long mp3... xD

Something is not right, the mp3 files are broken.

In what sense? I did check the file downloads, and they all still work. Are you talking about the MP3s reporting a larger than normal file length?

I'm not quite sure why they're doing that, considering that they aren't VBR files. However, they seem to play just fine for me (ending at the proper length).

I missed this when you originally posted back in June, but great stuff. It's really got an interesting quality to it, and I like it quite a bit. Thanks!

The MP3s are broken. In what sense? In a technical.

The header is incorrect/defective. The result is wrong bitrate and length display + no seeking.

This is not a result of a failed download.

Thanks anyway, momohan. ;)

If you have the file you originally downloaded, perhaps you could do what I did: right click >> open with >> winrar

I had no problem doing it that way. If you did that and the mp3s didn't work, perhaps try it again. Otherwise, I'm not sure what the issue could be.

As a fan of both vocal music and ambient music, this sounds completely awesome.
Downloading right now

EDIT- so I renamed the .psd file to .zip and its not working. Should I try redownloading?

I'm going to try downloading it myself and renaming it to see what happens. If it doesn't work, I'll re-upload it. I might re-encode it too to fix the problem with the busted headers. So, let's see...

Just tried it and it worked for me. This is probably going to be a silly question, but are you on Windows, and is it set to hide known file types? I opened it with WinRAR, and unzipped it, and everything is working okay.

If you continue to have problems I'll re-upload it anyway, it's been a while.

Just a suggestion if you do a re-encode.

For ripping the data from CD to HDD I suggest EAC. Using this software chances are high, that the data from CD gets transfered to HDD almost perfectly.

For MP3 encoding I suggest Lame 3.97 or the new Version 3.98.2 with a VBR (variable bitrate) setting, maybe -V2(suggested by devolopers). Lame VBR delivers a really good quality/size ratio and is unmatched by any MP3 encoder.
There are lots of frontends for Lame available. I suggest Foobar for encoding and tagging. Just drag the files EAC created into Foobar-->rightclick-->convert to-->MP3 V2-->done.

If you have any questions regarding proper MP3 encoding, just ask. :)

Megaupload was being screwy last night, so I used the badongo link and I think that might have been the problem. I used the megaupload link and everything works fine now.
