Which classes/jobs from past Final Fantasy games would you like to see make a return to the franchise? Personally, I would love to the Bard class make a return. The Bard class would've been perfect for a character in FFIX. :(

Bard?
Probably my least favorite class.

Red Mage i guess.

I can name a few I'd like to see stay away. Berserker (FFV), Calculator (FFT), Mediator (FFT), and Trainer (FFV).

Two classes I'd love to see more of are Sorcerers from FFV and Samurais.

They could totally make a main character a bard. "A Bard's Tale". That would be awesome. Or at least a supporting character.

it would lose its "lol"able factor reading YOU SPOONY BARD every once in a while so... no more bards

There's already a game out by that title, FTR. http://www.thebardstale.com/

well, the class isn't playable but Olan's job, Astrologist from Final Fantasy Tactics, would be pretty cool to see in a future release. Maybe Assassin as well!

I've always liked the Samurai class. They should bring that back to main stream.

I don't know if it ever went away... but I've always liked this class. :D

I think Freya (FFIX) is a dragoon I may be wrong
(FFXI) had a dragoon class too, again I may be wrong

Assassin... wouldn't that be like a ninja only instead of Ninjutsu it'd be like something else they'd come up with?

i'd like that... Assassin... yeah...

Thats a very bad idea, respectfully, good thread though.

I would like to see the Red Mage, or Calculator from Tactics.

Chemist, red mage, samarai, and ninja. I remember always making the majority of my characters in Tactics into Samarai-Ninjas. It was the best of both worlds and very effective

I think Amarant from IX was a monk and that's kinda recent which is why I didn't mention it.

Even so, I never had the feeling Amarant was truly a Monk character, 'cause I think everyone used him as a big mean fighter, rather than his few magic tricks. :/

It was good as a secondary ability but as a primary it was pretty weak.

Plus, he had the Chakra ability. Don't only monks do that?

Amarant was my healer during my last playthrough. Srsly, I gave him the "Healer" ability, which let his attacks heal, so I was getting free Curagas. I used No Mercy when I wanted to deal damage, and Chakra to heal MPs. With his better-than-average speed, he was also a decent item healer. He was also the only non-squishy guy who could equip Return Magic. That was a cool skill.
