Please forgive me, but i do not understand the ending. Why is siefer and everybody just laughing and having a good time at the end ? The ending looked beautifal with the music and all but i just wanted more detail. (i had to share playtime with my brothers so i feel thats why i don't understand it)

Could someone just give me a basic over view of the ending or even the whole story as a whole ? Thanks alot guys and gals.

Read the "Story" section. See if you still have questions.

Well, basically, Seifer apparently gets over his dream of becoming the Sorceress Knight. His two buddies have stayed with him, even through all of the "bad" decisions he had made. It just shows a happy ending for Seifer...that he's not necessarily a "bad guy."

Laguna reunites with his daughter-in-law (I'm pretty sure she's his in-law), Ellone. The ending also reveals that Laguna did marry Raine, the owner of the bar in Winhill.

Let's see...on the credits footage, Zell gets together with the "pigtail girl" from the library. He also gets to eat hotdogs, which he always seemed to miss during gameplay.

I dunno, that's about it. Though, I have to say that most revealed plot was in the dialogue before the nice CG ending. (Dialogue between future Squall and past Edea.) The ending cutscene was a night closing though.

Ellone, Laguna and Raine's daughter-in-law? I don't know where you got that from... Laguna would have to have a son who married her for that to be the case.

I don't know if you're aware but it was confirmed by Square that Laguna is Squall's father and Raine is his mother (not that it wasn't obvious if you look at what Kiros and Ward say when you meet with them at the presidential HQ and one thing Laguna says as well). Apparently his last name "Leonhart" his mother gave to him when she was forced to leave him at the orphanage before she was to die.

But still, Ellone would have to have married Squall to be their daughter-in-law and I'm pretty certain THAT never happened.

Also I think the OP was asking about the scene at the orphanage with past-Squall and present-Squall.

Zell eating hot dogs is a metaphor for him being hungry for cock.

Thank you noobinabox, yeah i just figured they was trying to potray him as never being evil........or like maby they went back into the past before he turned his back. Either way the whole story and ending was breathe taking. It could make a grown man cry lol.

The part where Squal is just all alone in a barren land and a feather floats towards him, and she comes and everything turns to grass, flowers and light.....just incrediable.

You cant forget the part where the barren land turns into a field of flowers because Rinoa and Squall agreeded that if they ever get seperated from each other, they agreeded to find each other in that location. If you dont remember this conversation,it took place in Edea's house before she taken away after returning from space

I agree with this, as I remember very vividly Zell kneeling towards Squall's crotch and saying "Oh man..." on the train on their way to Galbadia Garden.

The more important question is, in this world of futuristic technology and strange fashion, why does Cid choose to wear that sweater?

Cid is old fashioned.

Just out of curiosity, where was it that Square officially confirmed Squall's parentage. Not that I disbelieve that Laguna is his father and Raine is his mother because I do 100% believe that-- the game provides any number of hints that make it obvious.

Well, the game kinda does confirms that, Agent0042

First when you get to Esthar with Squall & Co. , after you talk to Laguna they enter Ragnarok. If you talk to them, Laguna, Kiros and Ward really gives you very direct tips about Squall's parentage. And on the game's ending you can see their "marriage". I think Raine might had died during childbirth but that's only my theory.

Yeah, I did read well... And I'm trying to remember when they show a scene were you can see Laguna talking with Cid and Matron about leaving Squall and Elone behind.

Obviously you didn't read something right, particularly the part where I said "the game provides any number of hints that make it obvious." But just to reiterate-- I know that Laguna is Squall's father and that Raine is his mother. I'm not questioning that. I just want to know where it was that Square officially confirmed this.

If it is confirmed anywhere, it will either be in an Ultimania or directors comments

I found one more evidence. Almost at the end of the game, Ellone says the following thing:

Ellone: When I was kidnapped, Uncle Laguna went on a journey to find me... But because he did, Uncle Laguna wasn't able to be by Raine's side when she died.
Raine wanted to show Laguna her new born baby... Raine kept calling out for Laguna. So no matter what, I wanted Laguna to stay in the village...But it didn't work.

I think it's enough, at least for me XD Also, moombas never lies! "La..gu..na!"

Did Squall die in the end? and the Squall at the very end was Rinoa's Imagination? If so, then I advise she goes to a rehabilitation clinic

That's a reasonably popular theory, though one that I don't personally buy.

well if Quistis (or whoeva it was) saw Rinoa, and Rinoa is also dead then thats means her and squall's spirit haunt the garden FOR ALL ETERNITY MUWHAHAHA

Yea I have fully understood the ending. This is probably because I was quite young when I played this game and it's been a few years since I've touched it. I'm downloading the ending online now though. All these different theories are very interesting.
