Hey all. I know there's rips already available for Michael Giacchino's Speed Racer CD soundtrack release, but the only versions I've come across have been presented at a disappointing 160kbps. (And then there are those that CLAIM to be 256kbps, but simply are not.) I wanted to share a higher quality version of this most excellent score, and so I present to you a rip, fully tagged and in true 256kbps. In addition to all twenty tracks, I also included a single edit of tracks 13 and 14 ("The Maltese Ice Cave" and "Go Speed, Go!" respectively), as those are the only two songs that 'bleed' into one another. For the perfectionists who despise that inserted gap in mp3s (like myself), I give you the option to have those two specific tracks in one, seamless piece.

Oh, and as a bonus, I also tossed the Ali Dee and The Deekompressors single on there, with all four of its featured tracks. Everything is in a single 141 MB zip file. Enjoy!

Well, for tracks bleeding into each other, more and more media players are beginning to do it correctly...but the gesture is certainly appreciated, since most cars and some MP3 players aren't able to deal with the gap.

Thanks for this. I just watched the film tonight and knew I had to get the soundtrack. I'll be ordering it sometime in the near future, but this will suffice nicely in the meantime. :D

I've since uploaded the eight minute in-movie version of the end credits, which includes a couple more integrated sound bite samples from the original show - plus an awesome tire screech before the French lyric section kicks in. (Can anyone translate that French part, by the way?)
