If you use winamp, theres an easy method to create Lossless files from other audio formats without going through a bunch of other programs.

1. download this plugin. http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Audio/Audio-Plugins/WinAmp-PlugIn-File-Writer.shtml

2. Install it in your Winamp plugins folder.

3. Open Winamp playlist and add the files you want.

4. Go to preference, and chose the new plugin in the output section.

5. Go to configure, and set it to write Flac. You can also chose to write ogg, wav, ape, mp3(lame), and pcm if you want.

6. Chose an output directory.

7. then simply push play.

The play bar will speed through the files in the playlist. Don't worry that means the file is writing. The plugin works really well. It will work on almost any supported play format, even wma files.

There you have it. Hope this makes getting the best sound quality from your music a little easier.

Caution: MP3's must be converted to Wav's first using the same method.

Does it create files like log and cue sheet as well? I'm so used to using Exact Audio Copy so I'm probably not going to switch to this program, thanks for the info though. :)

I downloaded it, but it unfortunately says that it doesn't support my version of Winamp (I'm using version 5.531).
