Exactly the reason why I haven't played FFVII for years. I'm sure I'd be disappointed with it. I don't want to break the illusion of FFVII being the best RPG I've ever played.

I'm going to replay it too - even with all it's faults (and it has quite a few), I'm hoping it'll stay on the top of my RPG list :) It's a constant battle with a certain RPG on the Sega Master System though, damn you nostalgia!

yeahh. I've started again but then i got up to the second boss in Temple of the Ancients and I realised I didn't have Barrier so I'm starting AGAIN.

You don't need barrier. Demon Gate is fucking easy.

It can be tricky if you struggle against some of the other bosses. But really, the entire game is really easy. You can pwn most bosses with a few summons and limit breaks.
Grabbing the Aqualung or Beta enemy skill makes things even easier. Oh or Trine.

I'm going to replay it again after I complete Crisis Core.

Anyway, I don't know your stance on FFVII, I know that a lot of people here hold much contempt for the game but what do you think? I assume you like it to some degree since you are playing it again.

I think the game is horribly flawed but it has a lot of nostalgic value that makes me like it. So, I think it's a bad game but still enjoy playing it.

Yes it is quite flawed, I'd agree with you there but I still think it is a good game to play. It's not the B3ST GAME EVA like fanboys would say, it's not even the best FF game but still it has a certain charm to it.

Its a fact that Final Fantasy VII is a great game. Its just the graphic thats getting old. So if the graphic bother you than we could just say that books are "illusion" as well ;)
The Story and their Characters are important, nothing more.

Welcome to The Shrine Gattsung.

After some years without playing it, I started it last week and am already on disc 3 (breeding chocobos now, fun!), I find it as great as I remember it and I feel that I have been able to appreciate the game and it's story more this time around. It has basically cemented it's place as my favorite game.

However, I did find the game very easy. I remember some of the boses gave me a hard time when I played it before but now they were a walk in the park and I have not spent time leveling up.

A lot of people here are not fond at all of FFVII, they are even less fond of people that post about how good it is.

There's a difference between posting how good it is and posting blind fanboyism.

Its my opinion that FFVII is great. It has many reasons for that.
