No offense, but what in the world is wrong with some of you people?

1) Of course it's the soundtrack - the clue is in the ruddy CD cover image which states in large letters "Music composed and conducted by John Williams". Other clues: a) This is a music forum. b) The score has just been released in Australia. c) Nobody ever said it was the movie.

2) Yes, it's by John Williams - please see above, or if that doesn't hold sufficient certainty for you, IMDB, Wikipedia, etc can all help you learn the truth. Failing that, there's always Google - a little known but surprisingly valuable tool, used for discovering information on the Internet.

3) Are there really still people in the world who don't know who John Williams is, and what his involvement has been with the history of film music? This *is* a forum where music from film, television, and video games is traded, is it not?

I don't mean to be rude - but it really makes me nuts when people ask silly questions that have a) already been answered, b) are easily answered in five seconds by a quick Google search, or c) no sane person should need to ask in the first place...

I'm sorry.

Thank you, poster! Somebody beat you to it earlier today, but they tacked it on to the end of the Indiana Jones thread, so it's nice to have such an important release in a thread of its own. :)

AND who would seriously complain about file tags when you're getting one of the most coveted soundtracks of all time a week before it comes out??

I love you, Mounlight.

Without wishing to cause further offense:
Reasons to complain about the lack of tags:

a) There is no track listing.
b) This has already been posted twelve hours ago, at 320kbps, fully tagged and with a track listing.
c) This is 128kbps and sounds comparitively dreadful.

Here are the links that were posted earlier today. (NOT BY ME - I'm just transferring them here from the Indie thread.)

No offense, but those links are dead. And 128kbps is better than zero, you know? Besides, I'm sure someone will upload it later in another thread with perfect quality and track listings and all that other BS that people are too lazy to get on their own.

Whoops... Those links aren't dead - I'm just a fucking idiot. Sorry guys. :)

I copied them directly off the other thread and didn't realise they'd been shortened by the forum.

Here are the working links.

The final track is missing the last five seconds (as is the low bitrate re-encode the poster provided in this thread) but this rip is 320kbps. There is no known complete version of the final track circulating at the moment.

> this is 192 not 128

We're actually both wrong. The first track is 128kbps, the final track is 160kbps, and the rest are 192kbps.

Incidentally, the third track on this rip is damaged - a bit of the beginning of the cue has been chopped off.

> and it doesn't sound bad at all.

It does sound bad, compared to a 320kbps rip - hence my use of the word "comparitively".

I'm not dumping on the original poster, merely stating facts. :)

Sorry this was too funny. John Williams pretty much did all the music for Spielberg and Lucas films from the 70s and up to the present. Jaws, ET, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, and of course Superman, Williams has pretty much composed the greatest themes and music in movie history. And yes he did ALL the Indiana Jones, not just the first one.

how come some of the last track isnt there?
john williams is one of the best composers ever and it shows in his work, best music he ever did was for the DEER HUNTER it never fails to bring a tear to my eye

RAAAGE! He never did music for the Deer Hunter, christ! Closest thing were the scores for Oliver Stone's films. (Born on the Fourth of July, Nixon, and JFK.)

yea i know stanley myers wrote the music for the film but i ment the version of cavantina that i have

tangotreats

CavAtina was written nine years before Deer Hunter in 1970, by Myers. The producers just happened to like the piece so they shoved it in the film.

The performance was NOT by John Williams, the composer - it was by John Williams the guitarist - a completely different guy.

NB: This release and all the others on the web (torrent, mule, ng...) is a bad australian promo release: the editor made a mistake when creating this cd and it miss 6 seconds of music at the end... we have to wait a couple of days 'till the official release is available
