Has anybody played this yet? Sorry if there is another topic on this, I couldn't find one. I've been thinking about downloading it off Wiiware, but I haven't really heard much about it. I want to know how long it is and how deep the story gets, so if you have any information about it, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

IGN, reviewing the Japanese version of the game after its launch, was impressed with the quality and expansiveness of the game, saying that it was a "good start" to Nintendo's WiiWare download service.

In a later review of the North American release, in which they scored the game a 7.5/10, they cited disappointment at not being able to undertake quests, calling it "a Final Fantasy game where you stay at home and send other people out to play Final Fantasy", and felt that elements of the game were repetitive. However, they praised the presentation and felt the game could be "engaging if [the player] put enough time into it".

1UP.com gave the game a B+, comparing the game to Animal Crossing but with a distinct RPG feel, and praising the game for its depth.

Wired's Chris Kohler felt the pricing for the game's downloadable content was "exorbitant", with all available items at the time of review costing almost as much as the game itself to purchase.

To me this sounds like a Sim City with RPG elements. Interesting but I can do without this title.

Check out this game, it's made by a combination of people from the FF: Crystal Chronicles team and the Front Mission team. Also, Motomu Toriyama is the scenario writer, he directed FF X, FF X-2, FF XII: RW, and is directing FF XIII.

Akitoshi Kawazu (executive producer)(Leader of the "Saga" Square Enix rpg series, now he's an important Square Enix executive producer).
Toshiro Tsuchida (producer)(Leader of the "Front Mission" Square Enix rpg series, also currently working as Battle Director for Final Fantasy XIII, he may be doing the "Game Design" job on FF CC: Mlaak game also)
Kenichirō Yuji (director)(He worked on the Square Enix Front Mission Online rpg
Motomu Toriyama (scenario writer)(Director of FF X, FF X-2, FF XII: RW, and FF XIII)
Toshiyuki Itahana (art supervisor) (Works on FF:CC titles as character designer and/or art director and/or director)
Yasuhisa Izumisawa (character designer) (Worked on FF:CC and FF:CC: RoF)
Kumi Tanioka (composer) (Traditional FF:CC composer)

If I had a Wii I'd rent the game if it was possible to rent it before buying the game, not sure if I can do that if it's a downloadable game though. The reviews are great for this game here...

I think if the price is good it might be worth a look...

It's 1500 Wii Points, which is $15, for the main game. But in order to get extra stuff, you have to spend tons of money. It's not super bad though considering when you spent that money you're getting around to a normal price for a Wii game I think...

This game is awesomely addictive!!! This is a slow game but somehow I can't stop playing it! If you buy all the add-ons (except the costumes) it will cost you 2900 Wii Pts...

I always wonder what if FF has become a city-building game like simcity or caesar and this is what they give us?

I have heard that some building have "conditions" to acquire. Is it true? (This is how those big game company bleed money out of our pocket, I guess. Give us with incomplete game and force us to find add-ons and patches on their store.)

I find it kind of odd that there are so many opinions about the game from people who admittedly haven't played it.

It's an extremely fun and addictive yet incredibly simple game. The gameplay is very repetitive and easy, but it sucks you in if you're not careful.

For the people claiming it's TONS of money to download the optional content, it does indeed nickel and dime you a bunch, but it isn't really that bad.

All in all, it's just a very simple little time waster that has the ability to become extremely addictive. It isn't like a true rpg, where you worry about your own stats and kill things yourself.

The game I think it's closest to is a very old game named "Majesty". I think Cyberlore Studios made it. Probably 8 or 9 years ago. Look it up if you want to know more about that.

If you feel the need to hack and slash stuff, this game isn't for you. Don't waste your time. :)

If you like a simple no stress game that lets you play at whatever pace you want, you can safely purchase this. The add-ons do give a lot more to the game, but they aren't necessary.

For whoever said that there are some "conditions" to get buildings, yeah, there are, and not the money kind. Unless you mean the downloadable content. The regular conditions typically consist of beating the bosses of various dungeons to unlock better buildings and more variety. :) Hope this helped. I've been playing it forever, hehe.
