So, this thread is dedicated to the wonerdus Cids of the Final Fantasy world. Who is your favorite? Who is your least favorite? What did you think of Cid's horrid voice in Kingdom Hearts II? And all other General Cid discussion.

Cid in FF7 was pretty cool but I think FFX Cid takes the biscuit for me.

I always thought it was a little lame that you get absolutely no reward for that.

What's with all the Al-Cid hate? Sure, he may have been a hopeless womanizer and not used much, but I liked Al-Cid. And yeah, the game's other Cid was cool too -- for the twisted maniac he was, anyway.


FFVII's Cid was definitely always a favorite of mine (loved using him in my battle party) and I have fond memories of the IV Cid too. V's Cid certainly fit the old-man Cid type, and had a cool grandson named Mid. And, of course, definitely IX Cid -- ribbit! "Frog... is talking..." man, they had so much fun with that game's Cid.

Same should be done to Biggs and Wedge... or something

My favorite Cid is Final Fantasy IV's Cid. I identified best with this cherictar... He was definatley the most valuable chericter in the plot... and amazing to boot.

I actually forgot all about Cid in FF12. Yeah I thought he was pretty cool too.

I agree. I not too long ago bought a little figerine of FFIV Cid. Very cool!

I don't see what the big deal about VII Cid aside from being able to use him in battle. Sure he was cool, but he was no FFX Cid.

Reddas was extremely useful in the tough battles against marks or bosses though, because he has a 100% hit rate, plus Telekinesis, and generally does around 1500 damage per hit, which is pretty good at that point in the game. If he'd had more HP he probably would have been my best character through that part of the game.

I never killed off any of my guests. If I needed them neutralised, I'd usually just send them to sleep.

1. You should be doing much better damage at that point, having the game's best equipment or not. AND you should have Folmuhut at that point at least, if any of your chericters are using guns.

Cid in Final Fantasy VII. He was like every prepubscent teen's deadbeat trailer park uncle that'll toss you a beer regardless of the time or setting. That's partly what made the game so appealing and popular.

IV. Dude invented the Airships. Well, the Cid in #2 did too...

Cid from Final Fantasy Tactics would destroy all other Cids!!! And I just perfer his character over all the others. ^_^

Dr Cid (FFXII) is definately my favourite. I like how he's the first Cid to be a major antagonist in the plot. He was a refreshing change to a 'Cid Tradition' of sorts.

He is n'all and he's so podgy. He's the best.
But the FFTA2 one looks stupid. He uses bangaa jobs but he looks nothin like 'em. He also has a stupid nose and that's a FACT as is the fact he has a stupid blonde tache that curves upwards slightly.i mean WTF?!

So many Cids, so little time. I liked IV's since he built the airships is a like a little daredevil, tough as nails when he's in your party.

Then there's the infamous Cid Highwind of VII, never before has there been a guy who's foulmouthed, scary, wild, daring (he lights a stick of dynamite with his cigarette, for goodness sake!), and yet loveable at the same time. I'm going on a limb and thinking they might have given him the accent if he (JP) were from Osaka, those folks are supposedly known to be a fun-loving bunch. which in turn translates to the (US) southern/texan drawl bit.

Hail to El Cid Fabol in IX, which is rather fitting since he's the regent of an advanced (for the setting, anyway) kingdom. Still making those wonderful airships, and having all those misadventures as an oglop (gwok!) and frog with that funny mustache. He saves your bacon on more than one occasion as well. Can't argue against that.

I guess those are my favorite Cids for now.

So many to choose from...I will have to go with Al-Cid from FFXII, followed closely by Cid Highwind from FFVII.

It's a hard choice to make....so I'll go for both my favourites! Cid Pollendina from IV and Dr. Cidolfus Deman Bunansa from XII. Or as I like to call them, "Captain Beardy" and "Older version of Me"
