The weird guy called 'TEIOH' with way better stats?

No I was always confused by this. Teioh is another guy who is brilliant alright but I think I remember racing Joe before too. Anyways its not too important lol.

Teioh was the black chocobo, wasn't it?

"TEIOH" is the name of the Chocobo. Ester's referring to a jockey when she says "Joe" so it's not like they can't be one in the same.

Was Square trying to tell us something by making the black chocobo faster than the others?

Yes, that black chocobos are boss.

What made you thing of racism? 0_o?

lol are boss? Fair enough. The black chocobo probably uses its incredably large penis(being black and all) as a 3rd leg thus giving him a speed boost. Its simple really when you think about it.

Actually, the programming in the game makes Teioh have stats a tad higher than yours all the time. It might also be an encouragement to people to get one of their own (although that might stop people from going to get a Gold one).

Even once you get a gold chocobo, I think it's possible that some of the TEIOH chocobo statistics will always be higher than yours -- particularly Stamina. It is quite possible to win against this chocobo, but it generally takes both diligence and luck -- as a rule, if this chocobo is entered, you're in for a far more interesting race than the normal joke opponents the game provides you.

Lol...

Hold R1+R2 (or was it L1+L2?) to regen stamina and hold the dash button.

I've never lost to TEIOH.

Bullshit -- I've still lost once or twice to TEIOH using that method -- that method is a great equalizer, but it's still a bit random.

More like " My balls are bigger than any of yours".

Also, what Agent said.

That is not a foolproof method.

The stamina bar doesn't recover as fast as the dashing decreases it, so you''ll need to stop dashing after the spiral rainbow thingy in the short race or the thunder-y part in the long race.

Desert Wolf

I dunno guys, i've never had much trouble beating him either. I do use the recovery thing but normal fast running does the job for me usually. Don't need to dash at all.

I agree with Agent: the RI+R2 method does usually work, but sometimes he gets past you, especially on the last area.

Oh, sure, if you soup it up enough that you get an uberchocobo, then you're generally good to go, but until then, even a good player can sometimes lose to TEIOH very rarely.

I give my chocobos steroids.

Sylkis Greens = Steroids.

Anyway though, the R1-R2 method DOES work if you use square as well rather than just dash.

I don't remember ever losing to Teioh. He somehow always gets stuck behind the other opponents.

If anyone is having problems with him, I suggest using Manual mode to steer if you don't already.

I always put it on Manual mode. Look, I said I lost very rarely -- maybe once or twice, a long time ago.

I lost to Teioh quite regularly while training my Good and Great chocobos. I managed to squeak by a few times when training my Excellent chocobo, lost only a handful of times when training my Mountain and River chocobos, and finally did not lose at all once training my Mountain/River and Gold chocobos. Losing to Teioh is not a big deal. All you have to do is race again.

Slavka

I only lost to him once - the bastard snuck up behind me right before the finish line. I swear he wasn't there before... If he's too fast for you, the best thing to do is get in front of him at the start, when all the other chocobos are in his way, then steer your chocobo in front of him whenever he tries to overtake - worked for me, anyway.
