Did anyone like GU?
I thought the story was good but the combat was repetitive and got very old very quick. Especially when getting ready 4 the final dungeon and u power level way 2 much and basically rape all lol

I loved G.U. and every aspect of the story. It really felt somewhat like back in Kite's chain of events in this game and with the whole email system had just about everything I can ask for in a sequel, story-wise and email/board-wise it was fun. Gotta love Online Jack. This is more than I can say for most sequels I've played.
I enjoyed Haseo's character as well, he was practically everything that Kite wasn't. I found the characters in this game to have more development than in IMOQ.

Though honestly in terms of gameplay, that's where the downer comes in. I enjoyed Infection-Quarantine much more in terms of gameplay and the battle system, it was a lot better with only six classes and multiple characters to a class. In this we have... 11-ish classes as all the old ones split up and only one or two characters from each class (just many Blade Brandiers). That was really disappointing, but I guess they had to do something to be different.
But still, the way of learning techniques... I liked in the old one how everyone can use magic, and skills were based on equipment, and every class had 4 elements of physical skills... rather than character based. It really should have stayed that way, it was a great system. Literally the only things the battle system had in common with the old one was spells like "Vak Kruz", which you only got to hear the black mage-like class say rather than everyone. It didn't even feel the same, it felt like just spells of the same name in a completely different game. This also reminds me how I hate how they split the Wavemaster class between Black/White mages (whatever their names are).

Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to play G.U.

I loved the earlier series of PS2 titles...and I hear a rumour that they were making an online version...Has anyone heard this or have any updates?

I know that they made an online one in japan but it flopped, however there is a GU CGI movie out there waiting to be translated.

Yeah there was in Online one called .hack//Fragment, but that never made it out of Japan as it was a flop.

I don't think the GU movie has been released yet in Japan... has it? About half a year ago I heard about it being in the making... haven't checked up on .hack news in about 8 months but I'd be pretty surprised if it's out already.

WOW i just got done watching the movie and it is awesometastic, it is alot dfferent from the games but still very good ill give detail when i am not so tired lol

GU was great but I have to agree mostly about the gameplay wasn't that good. I liked it because it was easy and it made you feel powerful but it didn't have the andreniline rush that I enjoyed in the first game.

I watched the movie the other day and i thought it was pretty good. great visuals altho the cgi characters took me a while to get used to. i spose they went for that look so that it would seem more game like. Haseo was awesome in the fight sequences. especially the first =D what did other people think of it?
