I used to get this one and Start mixed up a lot, probably because of the beginning, though this one's a little faster. This is the Sin battle music as well as the invading Bevelle FMV track. And, it took a week for it to win the last round against the Thunder Plateau, due to the forums being down.

Seymour again... his themes have been on a losing streak in this round so far. But this one happened to be the first to pull off a victory in the last round. Will it move on? Attack is a formidable opponent to end the losing streak on...

Okay, I REALLY like Attack as well (better than Start that's for sure), but I'd rather see Seymour's Ambition move on. It's my favorite Seymour mix (Seymour Battle doesn't count since it doesn't reflect on his theme). It's also one of... what, two left standing, and the one of the two I'd wanna to go on.
To add to that, I would have preferred Thunder Plateau in the last round. :-P

AKA "Patricide". I believe the last we'll see of Seymour in this round. Ambition moved up after a narrow victory, and a losing streak of the rest of his track, but will this join it?

Tough choice! I know I've been big on choosing Seymour's theme and the many variations. But once again, I'm against it for what I think is a much better track - Decisive Battle.

Though I like them both, I've already voted towards a Seymour track being put through (the best one, imo), so my vote here goes towards Decisive Battle.

Decisive Battle, being a really unique final boss theme, seems to be destined to make it far. And this leaves only one more Seymour standing...

Epic boss theme used for five battles in the game that the creators probably assumed were the hardest or most epic fights or moments. If that's the case, then they did well, considering Seymour Flux is the only Seymour fight with that theme, and the only distinction it has is that it's actually tough. The rest are superbosses (and Dark Bahamut is the only Dark Aeon and a lot say he was the hardest). This theme won in a straight-up washout in the last round against Mi'hen Highway. This track alone is proof that a theme doesn't have to be all that melodic to be epic.

An interesting matchup, you might say. These two are great themes, but they're like polar opposites. One's a boss theme, the other is the antithesis. One's melodic, another is epic in a different way, one is barely known, another is commercialized a lot. And finally, Challenge won a washout, while To Zanarkand had a tough win with one vote difference against it's cousin "Revealed Truth".

One of the best "themes" lately. I know whoever loses this battle I'm gonna hate it. Love Auron as well as the Normal Battle theme. This is played in scenes when you first reunite with him, and in his sphere, and when he gets sent. I like this especially at the end of the loop, so I recommend a full listen since the scenes where it's played don't usually last that long.

I'm not too fond of either, I don't like longass shifting themes designed for opening/ending FMVs, and Hurry... well, not so much that my disc tends to freeze in the Zanarkand scene at the beginning when this is playing, but I also can't stand the fact that it beat Hopeless Desire in the last round. I guess in such a situation Ending Theme is the lesser of the two evils for me, plus most are probably gonna choose that anyway.

Awesome Mt. Gagazet theme of FFX. It's FFX-2 counterpart happens to be currently up in that rumble and about to win. Yeah... anyway it's beaten Braska's Theme and The Deceased Laugh so far.

Otherworld- It's an awesome track. And if you got stuck/lost like me in Mt. Gagazet, you'd hate People of the North Pole.

PotNP was on a winning streak for a while winning by landslides in the last two rounds, so I must say I am truly surprised, as great as Otherworld is. But anyway, score one for Otherworld being in the top 8!

Good old Yuna... well, Yuna's Determination lost to her own theme, as did I Can Fly. Poor Yuna and her own theme having to beat tracks that have to do with her. Anyway... description. People keep saying that this was on the FFVIII soundtrack. "Fragments of Memories" is probably what they have in mind. Right.

Wow, AMAZINGLY close battle... was tied, what, five times? Yuna's theme put up a good fight, but it turns out Normal Battle makes it into the top 8.

I think we all know how fun this track is. The great Via Purifico theme... yeah. Beat the Chocobo theme and the airship theme quite easily, two of which would have been competition for almost anything else.

The long blend of themes at the end. So far it's victims were Time of Judgment, and Hurry. Can't say much about that, yet...


As for me... well, I've always hated the long-winded indistinct blends that are made for only openings or endings, and this looks like an opportunity to knock out Ending Theme. Path of Repentance plz.

Can't say I did either-- for some reason I thought Path of Repentance was winning. Guess I didn't look too closely.

Okay, I'm starting the quarterfinals but let me say something.

I'm leaving for uni in about a week and I'm just starting there and it may take a while, like up to a week to settle in before I have internet and am able to update again, if at all. Since this one and the IX one are almost over I definitely want to finish them, but as for the X-2 one I might want to hand it to someone else. HOWEVER, I insist on finishing the first round myself, and then someone else may continue it. By the time I'm settled in I'll decide.
