Beaten to the punch it seems! I'm too much of a perfectionist or just too slow, not sure what it is yet. ;) I've been busy watching tons of videos getting all of the tags right. I have 17 extra tracks for some reason after deleting redundant cutscene ones, and from ripping the multi-channel tracks in stereo. I wonder what the discrepancy is. Anyway, should be posting what I did soon. It will be interesting to find out what's different.

Thanks Skunk! But the tracks that where multi channel arent supposed to sound the way you encoded them. First, they are multi channel because they are "dynamic", for example in toads factory the music gets the clapping sound only on different parts of the stage so i think you should let the two stereo channels run solo for one loop and the hit in with the third and fourth tracks on the second loop.

Wow. so many releases of this game.. Coo stuff. I like the brstms :P but yeah its great to hear the mp3s on an ipod or something :-)

Yeah its a good idea to add the other channels the 2nd loop also ..Good idea. Its something like .dot hack game OST where it plays softly and then the battle theme gets mixed into it :)

I didn't change anything, and you have to accept what the only program resulted in. I had about 20 converters and audio editting programs, of which only one was able to convert - dbpowerAmp.
If you have a better version, feel free to send it to me, so I can change the file.

Could you possibly order the tracks properly?

There's over 100 to keep track of to order.

Here ya go, I used audacity (its free) to do this, and the wav converted by vgmstream. The clapping starts on the second loop which is at 1:24.
15 - Toad's Factory (fixed).mp3 http://www.mediafire.com/?0h4wrnlcbso

The other multi channel tracks needs to be fixed too.

Well, Audacity didn't work for me, though. For me the file had extremely bad quality when I used Audacity.

Well, Audacity didn't work for me, though. For me the file had extremely bad quality when I used Audacity.

Thats because audacity opens every channel as mono, you have to set the two top channels to "Make stereo track" and the same for the lower two. Otherwise the sound thats supposed to be on the left channel plays on both left and right and vice versa so it sounds garbled.
The top 2 tracks are the song w/o clapping and the lower 2 are with clapping, so you need to mute the one w/o clapping from the loop point and the one with the clapping until the loop point, easy isnt it?

Red Arremer
04-17-2008, 05:08 PM
Well, I'm not really good with that stuff, so no idea.

Define "order properly" please?

They're not in any order other than alphabetical. i.e. Battle Course View is the first song.
There's no logic in the order. Usually the first track is the opening, then game menu, then all the tracks in order, and so on.

Does that make more sense?

The difference is the quality of the .mp3 (kbps) and the way the tracks are arranged. My thread also has a few more download options, in case you only wanted a few songs.

lol? I actually even tagged them with numbers, manually. I have no idea what's wrong with your download, but mine starts with
01 - Title.mp3
02 - Menu 1.mp3
etc.

For much, much more then 3 years, miss. ;)

Came out last week In Europe, I still havent unlocked all karts/bikes, so the game is resident on my Wii DVD tray, yes.

You have to have SOMETHING worthwhile to go home to, right? Im usually all day at work listening to music, and I really love the Kinoko song.

Mind you, nothing beats Super Mario Kart on the SNES, tough...

Im also make music as a hobby (sadly im resdesigning my website, so the link on my sig will only redirect you to a warning page) and I take TONS of inspiration fromvideo games (as well as movies, anime, etc etc).

I have even forgot to upload here the alternative electronic soundtrack I made for Excite Truck (such an amazing, underrated Wii game!) I made duringlast summer hollidays. Take it as a gift for your hard work from the website right here (http://shiryumusic.no.sapo.pt/ETEX/) or direct download link here (http://gameover.files.sapo.pt/Shiryu-ETEX.zip).

I guess in the end, you're right... I AM ONE FAN!

Perhaps in the ID3 tag under track number, they are tagged in alphabetical order, that might explain it.

Red Arremer

It can be fixed, but you know - putting numbers in each of the tracks to tag them (and there I can't even copypaste it <.<) is not much fun.

Tell me about it. I had to do that for the Brawl soundtrack before it was properly named, tagged, and ordered. I had my fill of that. hehe

If you could do that that would be great.

Try kid3 http://kid3.sourceforge.net/ , with it you can tag much easier than doing it manually!

It would be appreciated. :)

Well, since someone bumped this topic anyway, I hope it's okay for me to post here. The songs are great, but there are two things I noticed. One of them is that the 'Mission Start' music isn't right. That music is what you hear when you unlock something in the game (a kart or a character for example).
The other thing is that the name of the battle song's final laps should be changed. That is because the battle stages don't have laps.. You hear that music when only one minute is left during that game. So maybe it should be changed to something like 'Block Plaza - Final minute' or whatever =P

sorry if im being annoying D: great job though =]
