Direct mp3 downloads and torrent (http://www.videogamescrapbook.com/album.php?id=smash_brawl_!_vault)

Unlike the other rips available online, this uses vgmstream, the successor to the in_cube plugin. That means you WON'T get small pops at some of the loop points (such as Luigi's Mansion at 1:30). Besides a direct disc to vbr mp3 conversion, this also features a super extensive assortment of tags:

The titles are exactly as they appear in the game, accompanied by official OST titles in the comments (especially handy for the medleys)
In the Grouping tag is the game from which the song comes from.
The composers for nearly every song are given.
If you sort by year, you can see which songs were arranged for Brawl.
The vocal songs feature lyrics along with line by line translations.
Every track has different album art, a relevant screenshot from the official smashbros website.

"Every track has different album art, a relevant screenshot from the official smashbros website."

Gimmicky, but aside from this, it's probably the best looking collection currently out. Definitely going to have to get the DDLs.

Okay, slight complaint about the Lost Tracks...

1) How does one know these were the songs cut from the game?
2) All of them are just arrangements and whatnot ripped from other soundtracks, and the majority of them don't loop anyway...and even a few of the songs in the "Lost Tracks" are readily found in the game anyway!

Despite these...the songs culled in the Lost Tracks are still nice to listen to.

Clicking the Torrent link just takes me to a bunch of jumbled letters.

Malfaisant: There is a listing of songs on the disc that includes those in the game and a few that weren't. I worked like crazy to get the most official versions of the songs that were cut and to master them in a way that fit the other songs on the disc without introducing artificial loops. Glad you're enjoying them!

Vulcan: The link you mention says to Right-click on it. For Firefox and others, there is no easy way to make a download link behave the same with both left clicks and right clicks, so I've settled with the default browser behavior.

Sweetness!!! I've got a couple of questions, though; what's the bitrate, and how many times does each track loop? Oh, and about how much space does the entire soundtrack take up?

Sorry to double post, but I just finished reading the readme, all I can say is "WOW"! If you can pull this off, Scrapbook, you just might become the most Internets-renowned figure of all time!!!

I tip my hat to you, good sir.

Not sure if it would make me renowned, but thanks for the encouragement. :) I'll be able to do it, it will just take some time. The plan is to hit a point in about a month where I can release one of the original songs per day in a music player and for download, along with the regular weekly updates. Sure it will take a year to get through them all, which is an eternity for games, but if Brawl is anything like Melee (and if Nintendo music continues to be loved), it will still be relevant! And at the end, it will be glorious (to video game music lovers anyway)! There are so many things I'm wanting to do with the site, I wish I had more time!

Bitrate is VBR that averages 192 kbps (LAME 3.97 -V2 -h). To those who don't understand a lot about mp3, this number may seem small, but these settings have been proven in blind listening tests to be indistinguishable from the original source for the vast majority of people. Non-variable bitrate at 320 is labeled 'insane' in the settings for a reason: it's bloated without any real quality improvement. For that you need a lossless format such as wav or flac, which I'll be uploading later. Total size is 692 MB, which you can backup to mp3 CD if you remove the cover art. Each song loops once, but with a longer more satisfying professional fadeout. I will be posting them in two loop form at some point, along with the non-fade OST versions of the vocal songs and such.
