The last 3 were good, imo, but the first one looked substantially worse. I believe it's due to the coloring. Not sure what you're using, but it doesn't look good at all.

Yeah, the first was done at at about 3am, took me about 4 hours. The sleep deprivation is probably why that one looks worse, it was sloppy.

Quite good remember perspective is one of the most important things to considered when drawing characters my suggestion is to work on more simplistic characters making sure you can mimic exactly how people and animals stand, etc or at least get quite close. You would be surprised how much it can help your sketchs. Also you can never have a enough reference material. :)

The first one is really awful when you compare it to the other ones. Well done with these ones, imo.

You've got some wonderful ideas! <33

As for colouring, the reason why it's not aesthetically appealing is because you need shading and highlighting to pop muscles forwards and make the picture seem more realistic. I suggest studying some anatomy to colour it a little better? :')

The best I've seen so far are the fish and harpy.

Good for what they are. All the best suggestions have been given already. Use them if you want to evolve.

I tend to have the same problems too, but there isn't enough eye-popping contrast between light and dark. You got a lot of detail, but the lack of distinctive shadows and highlights washes it out.
