You can't break 99999

The maximum life is 9999, you can break it by configurating armor with the Break HP mod. To do this, you need 30 Wings To Discovery.

ok do you have to have an Intl' version or just a normal us version

Goren

What is the "optimum health", in FFX? Taking into account the lack of room on the sphere grid for maxing everything?

9999, there really isn't much reason for break HP limit since it's a pain to maintain health at that point.

I supose you've never bothered fighting the Dark Aeons or the Arena Monsters?

Haha

If you never bothered doing any of the side quests. I suggest trying. You will then see why you need Break HP Limit. Its worth it, in my opinion.

I'm currently working my way towards Nemesis and so far I don't see the need for more than 9999 hp. Which side-quests do you mean? Dark Aeons?

Auto-phoenix works well for any attack that targets one character so the only things I have to worry about are attacks that hit ALL characters and do 9999+ dmg. I thought breaking hp limit was going to be mandatory after a while, but it turns out that there are much better things to have on armor.

I have heard of the "9999 is best" club, so to speak. Apparently with the right tactics it works fine. I'm juggling around 50,000-70,000 HP at the moment with all of my characters.

Can you post a screenshot please because even after the sphere grid you would nowhere near get that much, heck even the HP+5/10/20/30 percent mods still probably wouldn't get it that high. I'm not saying that you're lying but I didn't know it could go that high.

Using HP spheres dropped from Ironclad I assume. If you use the sphere grid well you can get pretty high by placing the HP spheres in the empty nodes. Although IMO I'd rather use the empty nodes for other spheres.

Dark Aeons, the monster arena, Penance. You couldnt do them without it. Not without using tons of items anyway. And even then it would be a struggle. You would not be able to neat penance, and alot of the monsters in the arena.

Also Harkus, I have seen people's games where its over 9999, by a long way. The way to do it, is to find all the Break HP equipment for the characters, Then, use clear spheres to get rid of weak nodes. And replace them with HP spheres, then use a power sphere to activate that node.

Its the same as maxing your stats out. The same principal applies, you just use strength spheres etc.

Yeah, you should. I finished it again like, a month ago and it was great. Still has replay value after 3 times.

Also, nobody noticed/pointed out that i said neat instead of beat. You guys are getting slack.

Genetic modification of a certain brain cell which is located in the cerebellum and must be removed with due care or you risk paralysis for life.

I managed Valefor, Ifrit and Ixion with 9999 life. Rather easily actually.

Here you go:

Not very clear I'm afraid, due to my lack of know-how when it comes to getting things off my TV. I think I could have done it clearer.... but it would have taken me a while.

In that same post you also missed out two apostraphes, started two sentences with "And", used at least one comma where it was not needed and also capitalised a word in the middle of a sentence.

Happy now?

Having over 9999 health is a nightmare actually.
Since some of the Celestial Weapons do damage depending on how 'full' your HP is, if you have loads and loads of it then it is harder to keep full than if it was 9999 so you do less damage.

Plus, it is actually easier to take on Penance with 9999 HP than with 99999 for the reason above and because he does a move that kills you in one hit, no matter how much HP you have so 9999 with auto-phoenix is the best way really.

I know. But it's so satisfying to look through all my characters with their 70,000 hp, 999 mp, 255 strength, 255 agility, 255 luck, 255 magic etc.

You should play it without cheating. I don't use gameshark for anything. And i think you'd find it more rewarding.

yeah, but if you use cheats and then save. Im pretty sure 100% is out of the window.
