You see,I have this rip of the first Sonic game. I've seen many,many rips of this game,including the tracks from the official OSTs,but all of them were either incomlpete,or the quality was shitty. The one I have right now (21 tracks,~18 megs) is by far and away the best I heard so far. The problem,however,is that I don't remember where I got it from. If it's this thread,and Koto's other rips are on the same level quality-wise,then I will finally be able to update my Sonic 2 and S3&K soundtracks,since right now they are pretty much hodge-podges from random OSTs and rips with wildly varying quality.

My Sonic rip is 19 tracks, it's missing the the sega logo and a track called continue up from another rip i have, it's 27.6mb and encoded with the new lame codec in V2.

I could also do the other 2 if you want.

It's actually been a big problem for when it comes to NES and Genesis soundtracks (not so much SNES ones,though). A lot of the games (ex: NES Castlevania trilogy) are featured on many OSTs,and there's a million different rips available,but they tend to vary in quality wildly,and few of them are complete. Strangely enough,the OST versions are very rarely the best (ex: the quality of the NES CV OSTs is atrociously bad). Having to piece all the best vesrions together for the closest thing to a definitive OST is annoying as hell.

Wow,yours is actually really good. I almost thought this was the same one I had,with some modifications. =) Here's the one I have,probably the most complete and high-quality soundtrack for Sonic that I've been able to find,check it out:

The only modification I remember doing to it was fixing the Scrap Brain Zone track (it didn't seem to start at the beginning,so I had to go and copy the intro section from later in the track). Do you remember seeing this one anywhere before?

EDIT: Almost forgot - I'll say it again,quality-wise,you guys seem equal,which is a great thing. Have you done other rips of the Genesis Sonic games? I checked your thread,which I remember getting a lot of awesome stuff off of,but all the links seem to be down.

I had the server with all my uploads deleted on me before Christmas, so i lost all of my uploads. I still have them though myself and am willing to re-upload them.
