Hi guys. I recently found an awesome looking papercraft model on /po/ that I decided to build myself. After consulting Rasse, I went out and searched for the template at the link watermarked onto the model I found. Here are the results:

Getting started

All parts complete - Unassembled

The Torso's Complete !

The Final Product

Overall I guess I am happy with him. There are multiple glue stains and creases over his body but those will stop with more practice. This is my fourth attempt at Papercraft, jftr (The first being Balrog (), the second being a smaller, more detailed Balrog and the third being an incomplete Mario)

I will edit in Rommy's messages to all you FFS people soon.

The gluing is really sloppy on this one. Some of the joints aren't connected properly. No glue stains this time though - I've learned from Rommy.

Overall I think they took me two and half hours or so~

EDIT: I just realised that Mario makes an appearance in most of these photos which I didn't intend at all. Still awesome though

I had a lot less trouble with Leo Leo than I did with Rommy. All up I think he took me about 2 and half hours and a lot of my gluing is cleaner too.

I'm considering making another Rommy-like model yet, too.

Up next is my Seventh papercraft attempt: Snake in a Box.
This is definitely the most difficult template I've worked with so far and probably the worst results out of all of my models (excluding Mario). You'll have to forgive the huge gap from "Preparing to Glue" to "The Final Product" - I was in a rush with this one and taking photos completely escaped my mind.

I've completely ignored the pumpkin head guy because he looks awful and I have no idea why I still have him around so most of this post will be dedicated to KissKissKiss. Once again, taking photos completely skipped my mind in the middle but I didn't miss much. Here's how it went:

I would've put these two up earlier but I was way too tired. Anyway, in this post will be numbers 14 and 15: Mean Green (Squirrel) and Team Rocket's Meowth Balloon respectively. These two both took me a lot longer than the rest of my models and they were also somewhat more difficult, especially Balloon Meowth. You will notice a few mistakes on both, I'm sure.

I didn't know there was a papercraft thread on here.

I folded the box flaps on my snake in half, I think that's what you're meant to do but after seeing yours I I'm not sure.

I think the white cat is Long Cat and the toothy grey one is the cat that always bites Sakaki in Azumanga Daioh.

You'll have a choice of original, Minsh Cap, Zora Armor masked/unmasked, Magic Armor, Shadow Link, 8 bit, 4 Swords, & Fierce Deity.
This is probably the best Link that's not a stylized cube but still simple enough for beginners, if you want a more complex Link there are plenty of them on that site so take a look around.

What type of paper does people use? I use plain card stock and sometimes with the modes with lots of curves and gentle folds regular printer paper.
The glue I use right now is Elmer's all purpose glue that I squeeze a little on a scrap piece of paper and then spread it on the surface with a nail. I use tweezers to put together small parts.

edit: They have lots of the masks from Majora's too. That's my week planned next week.

edit II: I didn't want to wait. So I decided to make the easiest one to see how it would go, so I made the yellow diamond shaped thing that you shoot with an arrow, from Zelda. Printed it on 190 gsm matt photo paper, and stuck it together with double sided tape (so no waiting for glue to hold) and it turned out okay. The template was very well designed. The square bits were simple but the curves were hellish. I uttered lots of NSFW exclamations during the curved bits.

Thanks everyone here for bringing this to my attention, and Chewey for starting the thread.

Wow, I had absolutely no idea this thread was revived. Coincidentally, I've just started doing papercraft again. It's very likely I'll just create a horde of ROMMYS (http://rommy.kamimodel.com/index_e.html) though, since they're awesome. In case I hadn't already said it in this thread, I lost all my papercraft stuff a long time ago and gave up on the hobby because of it. Let's see how far I get this time.

Screenshots will be up later.

My first papercraft were these japanese houses from the 50s and I just used plain paper and folded them by hand. Turned out ok even if they were really only boxes, then the next ones I did was cubeecrafts and those are pretty much strait lines so it's good to start off simple.

I've seen pictures of vintage papercraft sets from Victorian times so it's pretty old.

I want to make this one model which is on a PDF file. Now the file is just a little too big to print it original sized, it cuts off about 1/4 of an inch which wouldn't be any problem if I could change the size of the margins on the printed paper but the only size options are original, size to fit, shrink to fit, multiple pages on 1 page and booklet.

I've been scouring how to's and can't find the right info on this simple problem of making the print image cover more of the page.
