I know this is minimal but it's one thing i'm having a VERY TOUGH TIME trying to acquire and that is the Power Generator item and I have been reading on some guides you have a chance of getting it by mugging it from the Mobile Type 8 boss in Lunatic Pandora or I heard there's a chance when Mobile Type 8 is defeated he will then drop a Power Generator or two but i'm not sure since it's the very thing i've been trying to get but it's becoming quite an annoying task to get and I would GREATLY APPRECIATE any help on how to acquire this item.

Sincerely,

Terrier :)

When you enter a Laguna Dream Sequence, you are in Lunatic Pandora. You had to do certain things, so that when you go back there as Squall and the gang, you can pick it up. That was disc I or so. I forgot. You can pick it up in disc III. But you've already passed that point, I think. Here's the list, anyway.

I do not know about Mobile Type 8.

Also, following that same guide, it says you can get it from Blitz. "Mug (Very Rare) from Blitz".

I have been trying to Mug Blitz like it says to do but I usually only get Betrayal Swords but never the Power Generator like it says and I did open the middle panel but I think after I opened the middle panel I tried to open the panel that has the Power Generator in the guide you referred me to but I don't really get what it means by the Red and Blue Button unless it means the buttons on the little Detonator then I understand what it means by that but I will try and do this. Thanks for the help DubJ. :) It may take a bit for I thought that you press the button on the detonator that moves the boulder farthest away and then press the button that moves the nearest boulder and then it has no use after that but after hearing this I'll try and get these changes done. :)

I don't know where you heard that but Mobile Type 8 gives Laser Cannons which are a different Blue Magic, not Power Generators.

I think your only option at this point is to keep mugging Blitzes, it takes a while but you'll get it eventually.

Well on Disc 4 my three chosen characters are currently on lvl. 100 and i've been wondering where the best place on the World Map to find where I can encounter lots of Blitzs without getting annoyed by other non-Blitz enemies so I can focus on getting a possible Power Generator without encountering enemies that aren't Blitz enemies. If anyone knows where I can find a high concentration of Blitz enemies where they are most encountered then I would appreciate it. :) Right now i'm starting over from the very beginning of Disc 1 and making my way to the Lunatic Pandora part where Laguna and his comrades aid his scout in the Centra Lunatic Pandora Scout Mission since according to Absolute Steve Guide it says you can get a Power Generator Item by using Laguna to fiddle with the right panel (AKA the little doors that sometimes squeak) so when either when the first-time party enters Lunatic Pandora or the second-time party enters it seems that inside the panel that was the right-most of when Laguna was in the Panel area according to Absolute Steve you can get the Power Generator item.

What exactly do you want a power generator for?

If it's for energy crystals, I would simply kill they elnoyle in Esthar a few times.
It's a lot quicker and more certain than hoping for a Blitz to drop a power-generator.

But, that's only if you're looking for energy crystals.

I'm guessing he wants to learn Ray-Bomb because there's plenty of ways to get Energy Crystals and I doubt he'd be going through the trouble of a Power Generator for them. And Blitzes don't drop them, you mug them.

Anyway, Blitzes are on Centra continent. I forget exactly where, just keep trying different areas of Centra flying around until you find an area where they appear commonly, I'm sure there's more than one such place.

Alright, thanks for telling me where I can find a good concentration of Blitzs DubJ. Right now i'm at the Laguna Dream where he and his comrades enter the Crystal Pillar AKA The Lunatic Pandora when it was downed and i'm following Absolute Steve's guide in full since according to Absolute Steve following his guide in the Laguna Crystal Pillar Dream Mission will result in obtaining the Power Generator item i'm looking for when I come back to Lunatic Pandore to collect the item wither with the first-time party that eventually gets kicked out when they try to enter the control room of Lunatic Pandore or when Squall and his party assault the Lunatic Pandora and infiltrate it successfully. Thanks a lot for helping me out DubJ. :)

No problem. Although I found Absolute Steve's guide at that point a little hard to understand, I think I did the right thing. Make sure you make a separate save file, though. In case something goes wrong...

EDIT: Also, check out these videos. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nELV9HU0di0&feature=related and then http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYDAGM8U95E&feature=related. I think that person is getting the Power Generator.

Don't worry, I understood the guide since I saw guides like those before and I understand the guide so it's ok and as for my progress on getting the Power Generator item i'm on Disc 3 and at the moment where Squall and his chosen party members stop the Missle Launch for hitting Balamb Garden. Now I only need to get to the part where the Gardens clash and I think you remember what happens after that. Rinoa faints after battle with Edea to be short. :P Almost to the Power Generator item. :)

EDIT: I JUST now got the Power Generator Item from doing the little side-quest of Laguna messing with the things inside the dream so now I have the Power Generator item I was looking for. Thanks a lot for helping me out. :)

Awesome. I didn't get the Power Generator, bhwhahaha. I got confused while reading that guide -- I only got the Silence draw point.

I'm just gonna use this thread for help, if you don't mind.

There's a total of 36 magic, right? But you can only hold 32. Which magic should I never draw?

Well, I guess to answer your question, it depends on what type of game you play. A no-level up or a leveling game.

I thought Aero was pretty useless. It's just like a watered down version of Tornado, which is much more effective to junction.

Later on, silence kinda becomes useless. (pain is better)
Sleep, IMO, is useless in a no-level up game. Basically, everyone in your party becomes so much stronger that it doesn't matter whether or not they are attacking or not.
I don't ever really use Slow too much.

DubJ

Alright. But what about Stop? I want to level up soon, but I'm doing the side quests now (damn Chicocbo forests...).

I never use magic, though. Just for junctioning.

If you're just junctioning, then I'd recommend just drawing Haste (I think it's the best speed magic you can junction, but I'm not sure), Meteor is great along with Ultima (no-brainer). Meltdown works pretty well too, but just in a few areas that I can't remember either.

Maybe I should play again?

Meltdown is great to use on enemies since not only is it effective but it effects ALL enemies and bosses INCLUDING THE ULTRA-ANNOYING OMEGA WEAPON!! And the great thing about this status spell is that not only does it make the enemies vitality zero but also makes their Spr (spirit stats) along with the vit zero greatly decrease their defense against both magic and physical attacks which is very useful to use indeed but for a GREAT Strength amplifier you can use 100 Ultima magic junctioned to a character strength stats to make the physical attack strength MUCH MORE POWERFUL! :D As for the guide it says to first open the middle panel and then after that you go to the right panel and fiddle with it by using the command to fiddle with it when you press the confirmation button to do so on the right panel and do the same for the left panel and after this go to the the right of the right-side panel and then proceed forward until you see a way to go up from the path and then go up again in the next screen to the screen which shows a little strange device which is actually a detonator and first choose the option to use the switch which will be used for the boulder that is farthest away and if you fiddled with all the panel after the scene it will show that the crash of the boulder made tremors that made the left-most panel open and after the scene then press the button to use it on the boulder that is closest and after the scene occurs it will shows the same result as before but this time the left-most panel will open and there ya have it! If done correctly when you go to Lunatic Pandora either with the party that eventually gets tossed out of Lunatic Pandora or the time the party attacks Lunatic Pandora and infiltrates successfully inside of it but either way navigate the passages until you find a ladder to climb down from and you'll see a familiar sight from the Laguna dream that used to be the Trap Panels fiddled with by Laguna and his gang and you should find all three open including the VERY RARE Power Generator item I was looking hard for and this is true for I have done it myself ALL THE WAY from the beginning of the game just to see if it was true and it is. Thanks a lot for the help DubJ! :D

I'd rather junction Ultima to my elemental def. because when junctioning 100, you will be able to absorb 100% of all elements.

And if I don't have Doomtrain, then Meltdown is the only magic I'll use because of what Terrier has stated. Definitely helps with virtually every boss/monster.

You should play again, IDX Rider. Only if you have the time, though.

No problem, Terrier.

Also, I want to abolish most of the rules. In the beginning I abolished a couple of rules (went from Dollet to Timber). But I sort of forgot to abolish rules after that. I one the Alexander and Laguna cards in space (what a pain in the ass that was) and was able to abolish Random. How can I get rid of other rules? Should I just go back from Balamb to Dollet to Timber etc?

That is a very good idea yet there is another way to make all elemental def. block 90% without having Ultima equiped to elemental def. of about all other elemental magic while some will let the character absorb or have no effect from some elemental magic so in that way most elemental damage only does 10% damage to the character which is very little and should be right around only like 150 damage which is much at all when you get all ready to face the final boss and this can be sone without having Ultima equiped to elemental def. And yes, I know Ultima is a VERY GREAT Elemental Def. helper but it can be used very well in Squall's Lionheart move so in that way when Ultima is equiped to Strength he can do about 9999 damage every strike of the Lionheart move and plus the damage done by the Renzokuken meter damager is usually around 8900 damage which is really helpful and since most elemental damage when you equip the right magic to elem def. you can have most damage done by elemental magic do very little damage to your character especially the most advanced elemental magic including the Blizzaga, Firaga and Thundaga magic which can all be even absorbed when you have full flare magic equiped and there is other magic to make the other elemental attacks such as holy only do around very little damage around like 158 damage which is very little when the characters are about at levels 65 and above. :)

Yea, basically you need to go play a game in an area with nice rules. You save before you play a game in another area.

When you play a game in a new area, you decline the offer to play (after the music has started). Then, the game will choose at random, which rule is abolished, or which rule spread. Sometimes, the game won't abolish or spread anything. If the game doesn't do what you want, then I suggest you revert to your saved and repeat the process until the rule you want exists in the area.

Also, if you're collecting cards and you want to make it quicker, find the card queen and spread the "All" trading rule. Do this by playing a game with her in which she chooses ALL as the trading rule. Then find someone else to play with. The game won't officially say you've spread it, but you can see that ALL will spread if you reject a game with any other trading rule.

Also, for speed, Triple is the best magic to junction. However, Triple is also great for a lot of other stuff. I still prefer it with speed.

Stop is decent magic. I rarely use it, but IMO there are more than 4 or 5 unused magic.
Heck, I use bad breath nowadays when I want to inflict status effects.

IDX
04-08-2008, 06:46 AM
I'd rather not take any damage at all and rather just absorb the elements. Besides, there are other magics that you can use to boost Squall's Str. stat to where Lionheart will do 9999 everytime (using Doomtrain/Meltdown really helps). Using I think 100 Protects or Shells does it just fine. Also, Double and Triple.

Heh, you MUST abolish Random in Dollet for the Queen of Cards side quest, considering how she requests certain rare cards. It would be a nightmare to do that quest up to the point of getting Phoenix while Random is still in Dollet. The first time I played I thought I accidentally spread Random there, but it turns out Random is default in Dollet so you have to get rid of it.

Do this:

-Play (or just start and leave a game) in a place outside Dollet without Random, if the last place you played had Random make sure you aren't spreading it.
-Go to Dollet and SAVE.
-Go find a random person in Dollet to play with, then decline to play after the music starts. A rule effect will likely take place (and if it doesn't then reset and repeat), but keep resetting and repeating this step until it says the Random rule was abolished.

Zak, I have finished the CC Group thing and the Card Queen. I want to abolish rules, so that when I reach disc 4, I won't have problems winning cards.

This is what I want to know:

How do I abolish Sudden Death/Elemental from FH?
How do I abolish Same/Plus/Same Wall/Random from Lunar?

I abolished Random when I was in space.

Zak

The same way. Follow the same instructions I mentioned replacing "Random" with the rule you wanna abolish, and "Dollet" with the place you wanna abolish it from.

Um... what? "Random has been abolished from Dollet which is the only place with Random"? That would mean Random was wiped out from the whole world. So how would you abolish random from another place when there's no place left to abolish it?

DubJ
04-09-2008, 12:45 PM
Hmm... never mind. I'm just going to skip the whole abolishing rules thing.

EDIT: Okay, these are the rules of my game.

Balamb: Open
Timber: Open, Same
Dollet: Open
FH: Open, Elemental
Esthar: Open
Winhill (Centra): Open
Lunar: Open, Same/Same Wall/Plus

Whenever I go to Lunar to abolish rules, the girl won't ask me to mix rules, so I can't abolish rules there. And I'm having trouble with abolishing Plus at Winhill.

Zak
04-09-2008, 03:53 PM
Hmm, that's weird, maybe Lunar is unchangeable and just a way to keep most rules from being gone forever.

And why, pray tell, would you abolish Plus? That's a great rule, I'd take advantage of it. But if you insist, play in a Plus-less place, go to Winhill and save, then keep starting a game with someone and quitting and resetting until Plus is abolished.

DubJ
04-09-2008, 04:02 PM
I always get screwed over while playing with the Plus rule. The CPU uses weak cards and always beats me. I never learned that rule, so maybe that's why.

Also, I abolished Random, Sudden Death, Elemental from Lunar. But now she won't mix. Weird. Anyway, thanks for your help (so far!).

EDIT: Plus at Winhill is now gone. The only rule Centra now has is Open. That leaves Lunar. I guess I'll leave it at that.
