The Anti-Existence

In the beginning of the game, the two are relative equals as seen in the opening FMV to teh game... Each gave the other a scar.
At the end of Disk 1, Squall beats Seifer one-on-one.
However, every fight after this requires Squall getting assistance from two others to take down Seifer. (sure you can opt to do it Solo but the inherent "plot" idea is that Squal has two people helpign him)

Thoughts?

I honestly believe it depends on what is junctioned to Squall, but if you choose not to have anything junctioned, I believe Squall and Seifer are really about the same.

I would say Squall is stronger, Seifer was just hanging out with Edea, so i dont think he trained much after he left balamb, but nobody will ever know if he did?

In the Brady Games guide, they say that the first time you face Seifer (in Deling) Seifer's physical attack is relatively weaker because he hasn't been "training."

The second time you fight him (Galbadia Garden), they say he has become considerably stronger.

I'm not sure about the last time you fight him. I think he's supposed to be pretty strong right?
After all, he does defeat the almighty Odin.

but I think seifer was a bit stronger,if I remember corectly it took 3 people and some GF power to knock em out.

How does giglamesh come from odin's demise?

Well, to start off, it's a wide misonception that Odin and Gilgamesh are related. They aren't as far as we know.

As for your question, look here.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OoIUKzW5mMg

See that line in the air when Odin's sword flies off and right before the hand catches it? That is basically a tear in the dimension or fabric of existence/spacetime. Gilgamesh slips in through that tear, grabs the sword, then pwns Seifer. The "dimensional interval" arrives and transports him out after this.

Well, I'm not speaking in terms of "how hard he was to defeat."

Rather, in terms of "how strong he is from a storyline point-of-view."

Because, none of the bosses are particularly difficult from my own point of view. And that's because I'm playing a no-level up game.

However, in a storyline point of view, Seifer may have gotten stronger than he was at the story's beginning.

But, to answer the topic question, Seifer is obviously never stronger than Squall, because, from a storyline point of view, Squall always defeats Seifer (except at the very beginning I guess)

However, Seifer does get (from the same perspective) "strong" at the end of the game. His ability to survive Odin's Zantesusken proves it.

Okay, storyliine point-of-view, I believe he's stronger than most of your characters, but not stronger than Squall otherwise everyone would have been really screwed when they faced Seifer.

I honestly think Squall is stronger than Seifer. I noticed as the game progresses, Squall does seem to become emotionally stronger than Seifer which winds up making Squall the winner in the end. I don't know if it's just me or not, but the reason Seifer boosts his ego at the expenses of others is because he seems to have a lower self esteem deep down inside. That's what make's him weaker than Squall.

Now Squall did also seem to have some self esteem issues going on, but he didn't boost his ego at the expense of others.

I've noticed that it all effects their battles too in the story. When Squall says "you're losing it Seifer". Then as the game progresses Seifer goes ballistic while letting his so called confidence eat him up inside XD. That's how I've analysed it anyway.

Well, Squall never beats Seifer mono-e-mono except at the end of Disk 1. As explained, the official guide for FFVIII states Seifer wasn't training.

After this, in a storyline perspective, Squall needs 2 other people to fight Seifer.

From a psychological perspective, Squall did grow stronger than Seifer but that's mainly due to one had the luxury of growing mentally stronger.Squall was laying around falling in love.
Seifer? His head was being fucked around with by Ultimecia and he had to repeatedly fight the woman he apparently used to love.
I don't expect his mental state to improve under these conditions.

true true, but its not like we had a choice to face seifer without help, ultimatly i think the squall grows stronger as the the game unfolds but seifer gets weaker because he is being used as a "lapdog" in minor tasks. While Squall is doing alot extreme stuff and getting stronger with the help of his friends. Thats just wat i think.

I think it all depends. In the begining Seifer was acting all tough and everything, but in the end it was Squall who ended up saving everyone's asses (along with 3 other plays etc, etc.) But basically everything everyone already mentioned is a pretty good answer

It was nearly dead. Check the last post date. Plus, I wouldn't have been as negative if the comments posted hadn't been so stupid and pointless. None of them gave any real opinion, one was a stupid retard post, another was someone quoting it and agreeing with it. Phoenix Wright had something to say, but it wasn't anything particular. And yours was saying you were lame for not noticing something.

I suppose that a valid reason the revive is it?

And its up to the mods what they do. Not you. And im assuming it wouldnt need to be locked if it was just left alone.

The thread hasn't been around long at all. And your hostility's not masked quite well enough for me to take it easily at all. For myself and for the person I quoted whose opinion you dismissed by calling their post retarded, I say 'Suck my big fat hairy Australian balls'. And yes that is a distinct lack of respect I'm showing.

Someone don't like it? Ban my ass, there are plenty of Final Fantasy forums out there where a person's opinion isn't dismissed so callously.

I hope you're not denying the negative connotations of words such as 'stupid' and 'retard' as well as 'moron'. If you're gonna take the higher road, you honestly have no right to talk like that.

And fanboy comment my ass, you must have been the Spam King to get 2K posts since a couple months ago.

Your post was hostile. It negatively described people's opinions. Fan boy opinions or no, they're still valid. And it was personal as you involved me directly through mention of my post, and linking it to a post better than half what I have seen here which you called retarded.

I did check the date. It was only a month. I've seen a thread (2005) that was left alone for 2 years and then it was revived (2007) for quite some time then abandoned and then again revived at some point at 2008. You got a point about the posts being pointless but taken in consideration that saying Seifer is stronger than Squall or vice versa, is equally pointless and not an actual opinion since there's nothing inside the game that can justify it. So all the irrelevant revival posts are just as valid.

And its up to the mods what they do. Not you.

That's what I think too. If the admins haven't decided to lock it then I believe I can post something - anything. I can't see why if locking it wasn't there intention some random guy comes and begins a crusade against revival of older posts. I have maybe less than 3 days that I've signed here and all I see is people saying this and that thread shouldn't be revived. Can you guys give me a break? I didn't sign here to start flamewars.
