Neon Genesis Evangelion will start on Cartoon Network Australia (Pay TV - Foxtel) from May 11, 2002: 10:30 pm. Check your local Foxtel TV Guide http://www.foxtel.com.au/foxtelguidevv for the exact time for your timezone.

No word has been given as to whether or not it will be censored or not. I have no idea what kind of censorship goes on on Australian TV. All I know is, if it was brought to the states, 1) it would bomb because, 2) they would HAVE to edit it heavily, so 3) it wouldn't make sense to the age group watching it. I seriously pray that the US CN leaves Eva alone. But hopefully they show it uncut in Aussie-land.

Also of note, if you live in or around Melbourne, try to head down to the Chinatown Cinemas on May 16th or sometime 2 weeks after. They're going to be showing the anime film 'Spriggan' which is an extremely awesome movie.

Yeah I noticed this lately while reading my new FOXTEL guide. I have them all on tape anyways, bought, so I do not need to tape them off Ctn Ntwk thankfully. As for sensorship, we don't have strict sensorship, well I don't think we do, compared to the US etc. it may be different it may be the same. After watching the uncuts though I don't really see why they would sensor it...

On a lighter night, I was hoping that Spriggan would come here to our Perth cinemas. It is one of those animes on my "to watch list". It has been on my list for a long time but nobody seems to carry it or cinemas to show it so I have been lucking out all the time. Upon saying this they may bring it to perth, but I very much doubt it.

How come you even know about what anime is on TV in Australia? Impressive!
^_^ Over a year ago they showed Evangelion on TV over here, late at night, with German subtitles and so... I did not watch it, har har har.

I find it impressive that people want to have Evangelion on TV, tape, DVD again and again... there are still animes waiting for their first release ever... *sigh*

Just to annoy you a bit, each week I pass by the Spriggan anime and the Spriggan manga... pass by and do not buy it.
Maybe I am ignorant?

I really don't see the point in showing Eva when its on DVD and VHS for the U.S., and you can download it almost anywhere...

That and they'd edit so much that whole episodes would be skipped... XD

Anyone up for hiring some hit men? *inappropriate j/k

I so hate Cartoon Network's editing obsession. They edited the blood out of Tenchi Muyo and the other series, and Tenchi only used blood for important plot devices. The scene where Kamedake was examining Ryoko's wounds, after CN edited out the blood, became the scene where Kamedake was examining Ryoko's ass.
