Im not sure if this should be in the FFVIII section, or the Music section, so if its moved. then its moved. but still!

Alright, this has been driveing me INSANE!!! My friend has these [Arranged] Remakes of the Final Fantasy VIII, and VII sound tracks... and they tell me that they got them from an FTP on some gamer forum, which no longer exisits (the FTP, not the forum.) and the titles are all the same... example:

"Final Fantasy VIII [Arranged] - Only a Plank Between One and Perdition.mp3"

ive been sent a few, and some are very similar to the originals in the OFFICIAL soundtrack, only the instruments are Much more clear, and sometimes slightly different more REAL sounding.. if you know what i mean....

Now, ive searched google for Unofficial Arranged soundtracks... and ive found nothing!!! ive searched for hours... and the artist(s) are unknown... these arent OC Remixes, or fanmade stuff... they are Professional sounding Tracks... But Unofficial.... at least i think so...

Has anyone come across them before???? I cant find any Trace of them on the internet.. and my friend has decided not to send anymore....

Thanks

MP3's?

www.vgmusic.com has plenty of unnofficial arranged MIDIs with titles like the above. A bunch of sites actually have MIDIs, and I think I remember coming across arranged MP3's. I mean, someone could have just turned those MIDIs into MP3s, but I think I also recall a site with such MP3's but I can't remember the name.

Anon, what do you have in mind?

You've probably heard the tracks on the Fithos Lusec Wecos Vinosec soundtrack. There's a few songs on there that were done through an orchestra (I call them the orchestrated versions).

Or maybe the one CD where it has music from FFVI-FFIX done by the Hollywood Orchestra. It was a tribute to Nobuo Uematsu (sp?) and I really enjoyed it.

That's what I thought at first, except he used "Only a Plank" as an example and that's not on there.

I'm afraid that I don't know where these songs came from. Tell you're friend to stop being a jerk and send you more!

No results found for "The Extreme Holy Version".

I think your friend may be telling the truth.

Also what is "I am Ultimecia"?

He said his friend sent them to him, so they're right now only on his hard drive.

However, Gavster, can you upload these somewhere? Please? Or if that's too much, can you email some to me bar request?

"I am Ultimicia", "The Extreme II/(Holy Version)" threw my suggestion out of the water. There was a site I had gone to long before, that replaced the entire PC game's sound score to a few different ones compiled by the webmaster himself. I know there was a few different ones and that they "may" have been in those, but I need to get my other computer's hard drive dumped to my new one so I can get the site address and check the files again. Really neat find from your friend if the original thing he told you is in fact the case.

The tracks he's trying to find aren't on OC. So what was the point of posting that site?

"she" actually lol, But! anyway. I just cant believe that she would be the ONLY one to have downloaded them all... not ANYONE else on the entire friggen internet, who has Downloaded these tracks and put them on another site... still im very amazed that you know what they are also. If you could get any other additional info on them that would be great thanks!

Well thats the thing, i WAS going to put them ALL into a big download full FFVIII and FFVII arranged album. Seeing how its so rare, people we very much appreciate it.

And, guys... stop posting friggen OC remix.org I KNOW that site has good remixes i get mixes from there ALL THE TIME, but alot of the FF remixes from there arent that great. There are a few that are fantastic. And they havent got many remixes of some of the best themes. No remix of "The Extreme" from FFVIII on there, etc.

Yeah, ive posted this on another forum, but i got 1 reply, from someone who didnt even read the post properly XD.

Oh and if it helps i believe that the forum she found these tracks on was called GamingForce or somthing. I checked the forum. but no traces of the tracks.

Ive searched these tracks for hours and hours, but without an artist, the search is more likely to come up with nothing.

If you do find anything on them tho, i appreciate it. Thanks

Ah that makes sense. Gamingforce is a GOLD mine for game music, has stuff you're unlikely to find anywhere else like from PS1 games that didn't really make it. I was searching for the Gex soundtrack for like 6 years and I finally found it there, same with other stuff. What's fun is the fact that the site does NOT come up on Google which explains why I never found those soundtracks previously.

So I did a search on Gamingforce, couldn't find it. I need more details. did you get them in a zip file? what was it called?

i was sent the tracks i DO have via IM. And she sent them 1 by 1 randomly (i dont have them all) I have NO info on the files, hence WHY i posted this thread.

Zak
04-10-2008, 01:48 AM
Well why don't you ask her details on Gamingforce, like which thread or in what section to find that sort of thing. As good a forum as it is, it's kind of unclear.

...from an FTP on some gamer forum, which no longer exisits (the FTP, ...

The FTP is down, and ive searched the forum for quite some time, the files are NO LONGER AVAILABLE from that forum. Thats why i posted this entire thread. I have no more details on the files, and i dont talk to her much anymore, and she hasnt been on much lately anyway.

By the way, im sure you have it already. But lets just check we're talking about the same Gameing force forum. I found ANOTHER one that has like a red theme, which im SURE is NOT the forum that these tracks were found on a while ago.

well my suggestion is to try to really get in contact with her because it seems as if you and her are the only two that have heard of these songs. not saying i don't believe you. just seems like a faster way of getting ahold on these songs.
