the lone gunmen were the three dorky guys that often helped fox with cases on the xfiles. they had a one season spin-off which i had been needing to watch for years. well, i finally did it and i highly recommend it if you were an xfiles fan and loved those guys. i found the series at hollywood video, and it even includes the xfiles episode "jump the shark" (which is lol if you know what that means) so you can see what ended up happening to them. it doesnt include the xfiles ep that explains how they all met which is kind of disappointing, but meh.

even if you werent a fan of the xfiles and are looking for something to watch, if you think you might like to watch a few nerds get involved in incredible hijinks to uncover the truth, this show is worth it.

SPOILER BELOW first ep

in the first episode, they predict 911. a plane in a terrorist act is going to crash into the twin towers. i was freaked out and laughing uncontrollably.

yeah, i saw it. i quite enjoyed it.

and yeah, the episode name 'jump the shark' was pretty appropite for that stage in the x-files.

that 9/11 episode is fucking lol. clairvoyance ftw.

'Thats why we like you Mulder, you're even more nuts then us' is my favourite quote from them. Frohike is a lollin perv too.

my fave thing was the chimp episode. "Simon Whitethatch Potentloins" still makes me laugh when i think about it.

yeah, it was definetly a good idea to bring the show in as the X-Files had gone completly stale and over the top by that point. i mean, the storyline was always far-fetched, but by the later seasons it was just plain silly. TLG was a lot more believable, and had some hilarious moments.

bastards cancelled it though. i havent seen in a few years but this thread might make go and check it out again~

I was excited when I first heard about the show. However, I was overall disappointed with most of the episodes. If I recall correctly, most of the episodes didn't deal with the type of storylines you saw on "The X-Files". Instead of being paranormal investigators they came across as more of just regular private investigators and I didn't think that was too interesting.

I think Lone Gunmen dealt more with the conspiracy end of things. It would've been interesting to see them deal with Hiram's Key type stuff, Masons, maybe even if they wanted to inject more sci-fi aspects storylines such as the Dragons of Atlantis and such. Too bad it was only designed for such a short run.
