Keep in mind, I have played Final Fantasy VII... But I never owned it! Just today, a friend gave me the whole game. I put it in my PS2 and It didn't even read the PS1 game. What is wrong and how do I fix it??? (Is it the game or the PS2? Help is REALLY needed!)

The game is probably fucked up.

Or your PS2 is fucked up.

Or (for the FF7 haters out there) your PS2 rejects bad games.

I suggest trying other PS1 games to see if it can read them. If they can, the game is fucked, if not it's the PS2.

Sometimes my PS2 would do the same thing. I've never had this problem with my Final Fantasy games, but the stupid thing wouldn't read the first discs of my games Chrono Cross and Parasite Eve once it started reading the 2nd discs as if the system didn't like the games XD. That's why I always chose to keep my old Playstation. None of the games had scratches either.

Could you be any less specific.

So, all I can gather is: You put a PS1 game in a PS2 and it doesn't read it. And without further information you expect someone to magically determine through the internet whether its the game or the PS2.

Details.

Your obsession is disturbing, and especially considering that you don't even own the game. How old were you when it came out? 5? Some of us have been playing the game since its release.

Also, the game your friend gave you is most likely a used game with lots of scracthes and surface damage.

The disc is probably raped, or you have a fat PS2 which is not 100% backwards compatible... but then again I played FFVII on my old, fat, PS2.

I still and always only owned the fat PS2 and never got the new one (off-topic).

1). I own The Fat PS2 that was released in 2004! 2). I realized that the 1st disc was completly scratched, BUT that did not stop discs from being read! (I had some pretty scratched up discs that used to work) and 3). Only 1, partally scratched PS1 disc worked on my PS2. It could be a Combination of dust in the laser reader and scratches in disc 1.

I suggest using your pS2 as a paperweight, and your friend's disc as a frisby. That thing's already bought its one-way ticket to sony hell.

Hey! I just had an idea; why don't you just buy a new copy of the game? It can be found on most online shops, so why not shell out the money for the game you profess to love?

Recommend SkipDR and such - works great. If the scratch is too deep, buy another copy as mentioned. :smrt:
