I fought against Seymour flux enough times that I am kinda giving up. If someone could just give me some helpful advice of what a good strategy to use, then that would be enough to push me to try beating him again.

I'll say that I am not very good with strategy so how do I do this. I really have enjoyed the game up until this point but this battle is a like a big speed bump that I just can't get past.

I forget... which one was Flux? Was he the one you fight in the mountains?

yeah Flux was the one at Mt. Gagazet ^^

i just filled the overdrives for all the aeons and it also helps if yuna has the ability to perform holy. lost the first time, but seconds always a charm.

The closest I got was actually by filling all the overdrives. I summoned all my espers but all they can get off before dying is the overdrive. Even after doing them all he still had around 20,000 HP left. I died soon afterwards.

Unfortunately I don't have Holy and it might take a while to get it if I tried.

What I do everytime I try to kill him is to put on protect, haste, and maybe shell too at the very start of the battle. Then used the aeons so that he stops doing that zombie crap. Then he does something strong... forgot, so be sure to have your guys' health up. After you use up your aeons' overdrives, use like Auron's or your strongest dude's overdrive. After that, bash the hell out of him, keep a healer out, and have lots and lots of pheonix downs. It would be a shame to lose someone because you ran out of pheonix downs. Or life works too. Hope that helps...

Yeah, Flux is, in my opinion, by far the hardest boss in the game (except for possibly one later...) Go in with everyone at full overdrive. I mean everyone. Go into the battle with two or three people you don't really want to fight with, use their overdrives, then switch them out quick. Then, make Lulu's first spell Bio. Yes, he is very susceptible to poison (works wonders in this battle). Then set up the protect, haste, shell, and whatever other defensive spells you desire, and keep a good deal of anti-zombie items on hand. Get off all your aeons' overdrives. Then just proceed to beat the narcissistic shit out of him with your strongest people (probably Tidus and Auron, but keep Yuna in for support). When he starts his little countdown, you can either just buff your defenses and hope to survive the hit (really kinda hard to do) or you can attack his little carriage thing and force it to spend its turns siphoning health from Seymour to heal itself instead of counting down (it will still count down though, so this just delays it slightly). Either way, Flux is a bitch to take down, but the above is my own strategy, and I've found it to be reasonably effective.

I was gonna say fill the aeon's overdrives, but since it's already been suggested let me add a few more things.

-Wantz sells items with Zombie Ward, they may help.
-Start off with Bio (please tell me you have it..)
-You could use Mighty Guard if you have it (though your only chance to learn it before this point is from Biran Ronso, so if you didn't get it from him... then you won't have it 'till after Flux).
-The unsurvivable "Total Annihilation" is actually the little Mortibody's skill (or whatever he's called then), and not Seymour's himself, so killing Morti while he's "preparing" for Total Annihilation should cancel it, even though he comes back to life. I don't know if you reached this point yet, you said he had a lot of HP even after the aeons.

It was actually Cross Cleave that got me most. It's annoying how Esuna and Remedies don't remove Zombie, but there's always Holy Water. You can use that and then take advantage of his curative spells that follow.

Wakka's Attack Reels is also just as good as the Aeons if you have it.

Another thing you could do before unleashing the Aeons is Auron's Banishing Blade, which will inflicts all the "Break"s.

Thanks everybody, I sort of blended all your ideas into one and was able to beat Seymour the first try. Didn't even need to use all my summon's overdrives neither.

Now I can finally go on with the story!
