Interesting, to say the least.

I'm glad they put it on for the psx, but it would have been cool to play it like one of the classic games.

I know it's a hack and all but why not at least port it onto the SNES, and the choice in textures and sprites could have been significantly improved if they had gone with a Chrono Trigger and a Final Fantasy VI tileset. No Yuffie, and no Vincent shreds up any chance that I'll ever download a .rom of this. For what it's worth, the idea of a PSOne game having the same title on an out-dated system amused me.

As much as I loved the game, there is no way in hell I'd waste my time playing that - 8-bit just isn't my style.

I'd like to see it, just to confirm it's existence, but like other FF retro hacks, there is very little to collaborate the veracity. Still, the person who put the article together, had an uncanny consistency to the screenshot's he's put forth, so if it turns out to be a hoax, it would be an elaborate one.

(I'm convinced that FFX NES is a hoax. RetroROMs are way too popular for it to have simply ceased to exist, and even the FF Fanboys are finding themselves unable to find it.)

FF VII looks more appealing as an 8 bit game then 3D for some reason.

jftr

Apparently it's not a hack. Apparently it's a full game made from scratch.

Hmm. Quite Intriguing.

That would be an interesting experience.
