Does anybody else really not like the battle system used in this game? I've been an RPG'er forever and have always loved the turn-based battle system.
So, I do like the turn-based system used here, obviously, but I don't like these few very important details:
Nothing is real-time. This means that,
A: If your party member dies, you can only res him or her, not heal him or her. You have to wait until EVERYONE'S TURNS are done before you can heal (in Final Fantasy 3 for example, you could have somebody assigned to resurrect that fallen party member, while another party member can wait in real-time to heal that resurrected party member -- so that means you don't have to wait until everyone is done attacking or defending to heal him or her).
B: This works the same way with items. If my spell-caster has no more MP to spare, and therefore cannot cast anything at all, I have to use an MP-restoring item on him or her, but he or she cannot cast right away. I have to wait until everyone is done, almost like a "round" so to speak. Pretty stupid idea.
I really like the story and how it's going so far, but the battle system is just stupid because of those details.
