I'm curious, and I know [or at least hope] that there are other horror music fans here, what's your fav. music from horror movies and games?

Not really a fan but I like Chou and Koe From FFII/III

Some songs from the SH series like cradle of forest, Laura's Theme, The main themes(or whatever it called) from SHI/II. There a few more but I can't remember the names.

Well I have a ton a like, but off the top of my head a handful of my very most cherished faves are: Creepshow, Children of the Corn, Nightmare on Elm Street 3 Dream Warriors, Halloween 3, Prince of Darkness, (some that only semi count as actual "horror" : Killer Klowns From Outerspace, Bride of Frankenstein, Fright Night, Invaders from Mars (the remake), Lost Boys, Poltergiest, Eight Legged Freaks, Cats Eye (stephen kings). I Also love the small suite of Stephen King's IT I have, but am constantly looking for the full score, thats one of my "holy grail" soundtracks to find.

The Haunting Ground (Demento) OST features a very scary soundtrack, also some tracks from Biohazard games.

Rule of Rose also has some amazing soundtracks, most are violin though.=)

Have music from Silent Hill, Resident Evil/Biohazard series (trying to obtain Umbrella Chronicles) and if anyone remembers it, Alone in the Dark. Not the movie, the ooooooooooold dos game. Oh and I have a horror movie title/end music CD thing somewhere which has music from various horror movies, I'v taken a liking to Childs Play 's and Hellraiser.

As far as favorites go its a very very hard pick. I suppose I can say atleast one of my tops would have to be Resident Evil/Biohazard Outbreak's main theme. (I even got my mother addicted to that one) Orchestralish rate very high in my book and Resident Evil just seems to have a good number of those.

New nightmare is one of my favorites. Silent Hill 2 was a great one. I like the other SH soundtracks but they really don't have a horror feel to them like SH2 and 1, and one was mostly creepy soundeffects. Halloween The Curse of Michael Meyers, Identity, and Sleepy Hollow.

Silent Hill, but Resident Evil is also pretty good, Clock Tower was pretty freakin' creepy as well.

Agree, too bad the game was so insanely frustrating. I never got to finish it because I got to a place where I was always getting killed because of the lame combat mechanics.
Anyway, I don't think this game got an official soundtrack, which sucks because the music is excellent.

Oh yeah also the "Sound of Music", the whole soundtrack contains some pretty scary shit!

Creepshow is an amazing score. I wish they would release a version with the DeWolfe library music though. Be nice to have all the music.

I think my favorite piece of horror music is probably Die (http://www.silenthillmemories.net/music/downloads/sh1_ost/30%20-%20Die.mp3) from the original Silent Hill score. I love when Akira Yamaoka experiments. And it worked perfectly in the trailer for the film.

I just signed up here to see the links to the Clive Barker's Jericho (http://forums.ffshrine.org/f72/clive-barkers-jericho-soundtrack-rip-49339/#post969458) soundtrack so that I could download it. I like the menu theme, and some of the Firstborn theme tracks. I also love and have the menu theme to Clive Barker's Undying (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LbH3eck6a2s).

Recent movie scores I've liked have been The Uninvited. If I wanted to be scared by sound though I'd rip the ambient sounds from Doom3 and Silent Hill and stuff. Not the music but those messed whispers and babies crying, mix it with some of the wind loops, creaking noises... *shiver* ... scary. Something nice and creepy to fall asleep to... :) lol
