Now that I have finally played it (well not quite finished with it yet), I think it's safe to say that this game will definetly be added as one of my favorite RPG video games ;). In fact, one of my favorite games I might add.

Since I never had the snes system but the Playstation and PS2, I bought the Final Fantasy Chronicles and have been playing Chrono Trigger from that. I'll have to say, playing this game has been fun ;). The battle system is fun and very simple (very old school too just the way I like it), the characters are fun, and the story line is very captivating imo when it talks about time travel and all. Not just time travel alone, but the characters actually have to time travel to save the universe.

Anyone else a fan of this game?

My favorite characters I would have to say are Lucca and Frog.

Crono is my favorite character. Once you're finished you should try Chrono Cross on the PlayStaion, if you already haven't. Btw the character art is really high-res where did you find it?

I always have Chrono, Magus, and Ayla in my party. And CT is a superb addition to the SNES, and I wish SE would either revive Chrono Break or start another new project entirely.

@Ichigo-Oh yeah I've played and beat Chrono Cross and love it ^^! I know it's sacrilige (sorry if I spelled that wrong), but yes I actually did play Chrono Cross before Chrono Trigger XD.

Don't mean to get off topic but who was your favorite character? Mine was Serge because he most reminds me of Crono (the whole not talking thing) But I also liked Kid, Glenn, Karsh and Norris. Pretty much my party. I also really liked Grobyc but was never really good at using him effectivity. My favorite non playable characters were Miguel and Wazuki.

Chrono Trigger is pretty decent, but it is quite painfully easy.

It's no sacriledge. The two games are hardly really connected. The minor details they share together will only make you want to see how it started. But playing the two games in any order won't really spoil your any of the pleasure.

I have to say I prefer the open-endedness of Chrono Trigger though. Chrono Cross was more stricly scripted.

Always the usual negativity in everything. The "never content about anything" (no matter the quality of said item) comment.

As one of the many resident Square-whores, yes I've loved it since the SNES. Still have my cart ^__^

I use Chrono, Frog, and http://i210.photobucket.com/albums/bb1/ConstantMnemonic/37.gif.

I suppose so, if you're of a high enough level. The first time I played the game, I probably went a little too fast, and bosses even as simple as Magus crushed all my efforts, until I went back and gained a few levels.

Chrono Trigger is in my top 3 favorite RPGs, actually. I love the techniques and writing most of all.

For some reason, I really became attached to Marle. It seems like I'm the only one to mention her, however.

Chrono Trigger. If I was held at gun point and was told to say that this was the best rpg ever...I don't think I would hesitate.

Golem Twins were a pain in the ass. =\

This game is in my top 5 RPG's. The story, the characters, and especially the music just went over the top for me, not to mention the game+ option. I love this game.

Oh my goodness that game blew my mind. It's just so much more "Look at the sophistication. Don't talk about it! Don't sit and play the game over and over eating cheetos! Just replicate it in reality for the good of all idealist gamers/americans/europeans!" instead of final fantasy's "Play me! Buy me! Pl - Buy me!"

Really? I think thus far the most pain in the ass boss for me was the Giga Gaia. It took me at least three tries to beat that f**ker. lol XD. The walkthroughs guide I was using wasn't helping all that much even. So I sorta had to come up with my own strategy and it worked (can't remember what I did sorry).

Chrono was an awsome game, i really was immersed in that universe. I remember digging the court scene and how bleak the future was....

great game!

Why is Marle using Fire? That's not Arc Impulse.

I've always been curious about this. Probably just a mistake.

lmao i never thought about it. ROFL.

i remember renting this game like 40 years ago. (yes i'm making fun of me being old. -_- ;_; ) and i hated it. (i was a kid, forgive me) i was prolly 11 or something and was only into action games and the whole turn based system was totally new to me and i playing games for story was like "wtf"?

years later, i tried it again and think it's the greatest evar! it's been 10 years since i last played it i think. haha (fuck i'm old)

i have yet to play the ps version with the kewl anime scenes. i should do that.

also. i made a website where i host a lot of the images to the game. i tried to stay away from the new anime screenshots but i did get a few i guess. anyway sorry to say my site is down and no real plans to get it back up. but i worked hard as hell to get the high res pics seen above plus many other original art pieces.

if someone asks, maybe i'll make an effort to find a temporary host to share em.

Funny...I originally intended to put Giga Gaia down but everytime I do people are like "That was so easy." But still the Golem Twins were a bit tough for me...unless you have Luminaire that is.

Well now that I look at it...Chrono has a cape on. I don't recall that either. Original concept art? Who know...

Imo the Golem Twins were one of the easiest bosses yet. I'm finally almost done with the game for the very first time. I just beat the two Lavos Spawns which were also super easy with Frogs Leap Slash (I think it is?).

My team was always Crono, Frog, and either Robo or Ayla. I would use Marle but Frog is just so much cooler and can handle healing just fine and can actually fight to boot. Neither Lucca nor Magus really interested me...

While we're talking about tough bosses, why hasn't anyone named Zeal? Her metamorphosized form is tough on almost any level, as it tends to make everyone's HP go to 1 every three turns!

Now do you fight her a lot earlier in the game, or is she an optional boss? If earlier, than I don't remember, sorry XD. Now if optional, I haven't even started on a sidequest yet, so.....

Sufijo
02-20-2008, 07:41 AM
Yeah, she's on the last side quest, which is also a crazy way to get to the final boss. It gets you a serious amount of experience points just getting to her, however, so it's worth the trip to prepare for the final battle. Which happens to be easier than HER battle.

And what about that part of the game in Luccas house, you have to enter a code and was like WHAAAAT COOOOODE!!!
