i was playing ff 7 bout a couple of months ago. i decided to try the barret "overflow" glitch.

for thoes who dont know what it is it works like this.

you get barrets secret weapon. since its gets stronger and stroger when it has more and more ap on it.

sooooo with that being that you put materia on it that takes alot of ap to master. and if you have enough good materia (ex. knights of the round bahamut zero w-item w- summon ect..)
it can get soo strong that the game will glitch and do way to much damage.

heres my problem

i had
w-item, bahamut zero, knights of the round, hades, w-summon, and 2 mimes on it (srry but i dont remeber exactly what i had on it. but that was basically it)

and i still couldnt get him to overflow.
so i tred beserk and death blow for critical hits.

does his str need to be maked out with items

does he have to be on lvl 99 ( my lvl was 86)

i didnt think it would matter because of the amount of ap thoes materias had on it.

so little help

I think you've been lied to, games tend to never surpass their parameters, and if they did the glitch would crash your game. Unless you've seen this happen it won't happen.

did you put the hero drinks on him?

maybe try maxing his strength and luck out also?

are those materias you listed mastered or close to being mastered?

Yeah I've heard of this...I would fill all the materia slots with KOTR materia since those are the most powerful materia... It takes time but it is helpful

I will try this right now.

yes i put like a bunch of hero drinks on him. i didnt think his attack mattered since he gets powered up through materia. and yeas all of the materia i have listed has been mastered

Reasons Unknown, I can't get it to work.

Here's my setup:


Barret (LV 99)
Missing Score: KotR, KotR, Phoenix, Phoenix, Bahamut ZERO, Typoon, W-Item, Odin
Wizard Bracelet: Master Command (for D.Blow, Morph, etc.)
Champion Belt
Strength - 124, Luck - 188


I equipped Cid with Counter-Mime and W-Item, then used Hero Drink x2 in battle. Every time Cid was attacked, he used Hero Drink x2 on Barret. After using it 20 times, I cast Berserk on him.

No deal, not even with Death Blow.

I assume it's either a) a hacked version of FF7 for the PC, or b) only usable if your Barret has maxed stats. If the latter is the case, then it's not worth the time.

hmm yeah. damn you had better crap then i did and it dident even work!

(im assuming that materia was mastered)

ill try it some other time when i play that game again.

also did you try beserk

Again...use all mastered Knights of the Round... it's real...

though I think that it is completly luck whether the game will register it as a glitch and KO and enemy...

Yes, I used Berserk at the end. I tried it several times, and it didn't work. All of that Materia is mastered. Maybe I should use more W-Items?


Again...use all mastered Knights of the Round... it's real...

How many weeks would that take, approxiamately, considering you can only have one non-mastered KotR at a time? :P

well it took about 3/4 hours for me (assuming you use the elixer/magic pot trick)

but still thats sooooo boring not worth it

and it shold work just gota up your stats more you have a good setup there

i cant watch the video cause my school blocks youtube. but the video i posted on this thread a while back has the trick done. it just dosnt say wether you stats have to be maxed or not
