Sample FF Versus XIII Music in Advance
New soundtrack CD to include audio tracks for FFXIII installment.

February 4, 2008 - Final Fantasy Versus XIII may be the most mysterious of the three known FFXIII projects, but, in a surprising twist, it's going to be the first one with a soundtrack! HMV Japan has posted a listing for a new soundtrack from Square Enix that will contain tracks from the TBA title.

The soundtrack is called Drammatica - The Very Best of Yoko Shimomura. Being released in celebration of Shimomura's 20th anniversary as a game music composer, the soundtrack will include selections chosen by Shimomura herself, re-recorded using overseas orchestras (overseas as in outside of Japan).

FF Versus XIII music is being included as a bonus.

Look for the Drammatica CD on March 26 at a cost of 3,000 yen. When contacting your favorite importer, ask for catalog number SQEX10112 on the Square Enix label.

Her Kingdom Hearts I & 2 work is phenomenal!

I personally dig the work she has done on the Mario RPGs along with KH1&2.

Ooh, yeah, this sounds pretty awesome. I've been a fan of Shimomura for quite a while. One soundtrack of hers that hasn't been mentioned yet that I quite like is Legend of Mana.

Can't wait to hear her stuff fully orchestrated. It'll sound brilliant. ^_^

I love the tracks listed on the CD, but where's my Parasite Eve? I'd really like a fully orchestrated version of Femmes Fatales and the PE Main Theme. Oh, and Aya's Theme, too. But it looks like that's not gonna happen...

Also, kinds bummed that there's only one track from Versus XIII. Wouldn't be that big of a deal normally, but previous reports made it sound like we'd get SEVERAL tracks from the game. Still, Somnus is a great song. I'm very glad to have the opportunity to hear it minus the Prince-owning-the-armored-troops sounds.

And at least we still get The Other Promise. Woo-hoo!

Besides, like I said, several stores already started selling it a few days ago.

Shut up and be patient. You don't see me whining about the lack of a Horton Hears a Who soundtrack download despite it being sold early at many online retailers since the 18th (which admitably, I'm looking forward to more than this).

Its a download you're getting for free, you can wait.
