Vossler is my favorite NPC, however Larsa would have to be my favorite guest considering he has unlimited use of Hi-Potions and doesn't hesitate to heal a wounded comrade.

Larsa because he also carries X-Potions...but Reddas looks good in pink though...

I'd have to say Vossler. He and Basch were my tanks while Penelo was the healer.

Why wouldn't Amalia count if Basch counts?

Anyway, by far Larsa.

Vossler was helpful because we couldn't have Telekenesis during his short time, not as much as Larsa's healing.

Reddas disappointed me and was a huge disgrace for a guest. So what, he can use Telekenesis, so could we by then... and after Larsa he was nothing considering he never healed. Better yet, he'd just be in the way when we were making chains or trying to steal.

So... yeah, Larsa.

Vossler. I would have preferred Vossler to be an in-game character rather than cute little, metrosexual Vaan.

Agreed, Reddas was more of a burden than anything. By the way, is Reddas black or just tan as fuck?

Reddas is so awesome, but I have to go with Larsa ;_;;

I LOVE LARSA. Unfortunately, with my anal retentive attention to achieving things as soon as possible and massive leveling up...basically by the end of their duration, my guest would always wind up being several levels lower and having less than half the HP...

I'd spend half the time reviving them, and it's happened with Vossler, Larsa, and Reddas. Someone with less than 1000 HP always gets targeted when the other three have 2,000+ HP, sadly. Amalia and Basch weren't around quite long enough, but you can get a LOT of sidequests done when Vossler, Larsa, and Reddas were in the party. They died quite frequently and wound up being a burden.

Larsa! Not only was he a good fighter, but he could Hi-Potion and X-Potion your party. Extremely useful.


Reddas was the epitome of baggage. Complete junk. If he was KOed, I didn't generally bother to revive him. And yes, I suppose he's black.

I'm on my first play through of the game, just about to head for Feywood.
So .. SO FAR, my favorite guest was Larsa. I'm missing him terribly. Love a healer.

Larsa is by far the best guest, due to his healing capabilities. Reddas, on the other hand, did nothing but drag more enemies into a fight, and he wasn't even a fantastic fighter. Better off dead, if you ask me.

For me It would have to be Vossler for his usefulness as a tank, he also looks like Sigfried from Soulcaliber 3.

Either that or Larsa for his Hi-Potions, X-Potions, and Telekinesis ability against fliers. Besides, I like a little kid that can kick ass with a sword and look good at the same time.

It would hav e to be Larsa, but not for any healing/support/battle help reasons at all. Really, it is only because of my insatible need to prove that he was really a girl, lol.

Yeah, but he wasn't a guest - at least not the guests the thread is about. He didn't show up in the party menu, so technically he wasn't a guest - just someone who helped you fight (like the hunters from Clan Centurio that help you on certain hunts)

I suppose those characters are best referred to as non-allied helpers. Oh, and that character is usually referred to as "Gabranth." (Hmm, seems he has a fan listing (http://ivalice.nu/gabranth/).)

You heal him with cura and protectga worked on him.

But non-allied helpers often tend to be resistant to some spells, such as Bubble. In fact, it's really annoying when you have a Bubble Gambit set and one of your characters keeps trying to cast it on a non-allied character that's immune to it.

I was doing a hunt with a non-ally character and for some reason, all my MP was disappearing. Took me forever to figure out where it was going to.

I can't decide which one I liked more. :/
But I think it would be Reddas. His end was more tragic than Vosslers. *no more spoilers*

Out of these Larsa was my favorite.

He kept right on throwing an infinite number of potions at me. So I used him to level up other characters.

My least favorite sadly, was Basch. He's my favorite character over all but as a guest..ugh. All he did was use up my Pheonix downs. I just quit reviving him after a while.

I preferred "Lamont". He was a great help when chaining the skeletons in the Lhusu Mines. After that though I got my AoE cure spells and he became useless. Same with everyone else.

Reddas all the way man XD. Not only is he like the only NPC in the game that, you know, actually duel wields (lol), but when you finish fighting Cid in the Pharos Tower, he sacrifices himself in the most awesome way I have ever seen :D! Although all these things make him awesome, I'm still more towards Larsa for his spamming Hi-Potions lol.

My favourite guest was Larsa as his use of Hi-Potions and X-Potions was very helpful, however I did really enjoy having Vossler and Reddas in my party as well.

Vossler. Reddas is probably the best guest as far as his character and his role in the story, but by the time you get him, he's pretty useless if you're at a good level. Vossler, aside from being another very strong and complex character with interesting motives, helps out a TON in the early game, Plus, I love his line "...a son of Dalmasca."

I used Larsa for a lot of sidequests (the second time you get him). Free infinite x-potions? Fuck yeah!
