Hey I'm new here and this may seem like a stupid question but is uploading all of this game music and having others download it legal?

Well, how I see it is...

If they are rips, then its fine as long as you own the game and don't distribute them out further.

If its the OST, then I dunno.

Alright. Yeah I really wanna get the yoshi story soundtrack but they're like literally impossible to get now so the only way is to download...so I wanna know if it's legal before downloading.

Anybody else know?

Legal? No.

Moral? That's up to the individual downloaded, I suppose.

I take no moral issue with downloading out of print or promotional soundtracks, because usually you can't find them at a reasonable price, and the artist who wrote the music in the first place isn't getting any of the money when you pay astronomical prices for second-hand merchandise.

Yeah I know...I've only seen 1 yoshi story soundtrack before on ebay and it was $57. It never sold but I've never seen any others.

the way i see it, out of production OST's nad soundtracks that were never officialy released(game rips) aren't illegal to download(or maybe that should be 'shouldn't be illegal to download?).

if the original composer isn't 'losing' any money, then its fine to download. but i still download ost's that are in production.

its really a morality thing.

It doesn't really matter if its legal or not to be honest, i doubt the RIAA are hacking into everyone who goes on this site and downloads music computer just to find out where they live. you will probably never get caught, and even if you do, there is a very small chance something will happen.

My ISP knows i download films/OST's/TV series illegaly, all they want from me is an extra 30pence per GB i download over my limit.
