Hi all.. This is my second run-through on the game and I'm in need of a little rare game help.. The first time I played through rather quickly as I couldn't wait to see the ending.. :naughty: But this time I've taken it easy and gone for just about everything the game has to offer.. My characters are all 80-81 levels, I've gotten all the espers but Zodiark (^@$%$&^ miserable asshole!), all the hunt marks (shitty rewards there), most of the best armor and weapons (Zodiak Spear, Excalibur, Sagittarius and Artemis bows).. Nothing left to get on the license board and my next big fight is going to be with Omega Mark XII.. Working up to that now, but here's my problem.. I've gotten all the rare game except for Luxolid, Gemhorn, Phyllo and Larva Eater..
Now I will try for Larva when I go for Omega, but it's the first 3 that are really giving me trouble.. I already killed Lux's opposite Chaos Soul in the Abyss, but can not get Lux to appear in the Umber.. Gamefaq's says keep going from south to west, which I've done over and over again, to no avail.. As for Gemhorn, I'm about ready to throw in the towel on that one.. I've killed every monster in site 11 (AND site 9 just for good measure), darted in and out of site 11 but I have never been able to get him to show up and I've done this hunt 14 times now (in between others).. It's the same with Phyllo, whose suppose to show up in the Golmore Jungle Branchway area.. Again it says I should kill all the other monsters and it will show up somewhere, but again, nothing after many, many tries.. Gamefaq's said run a circle starting in the south branchway, going thru the next area to the north and coming back into the branchway.. Tried around 15-16 times for this one.. I really wanted to finish up this game getting everything but (sigh), this Beserk Bunny is on her last hop.. :-\ I'm deperate, and hope any of you can help me track down these guys.. I must be doing something wrong or they would have appeared by now.. So, I'd appeciate anything anyone has to offer.. =)

Well, not exactly everyone can answer to your problem. And I can't help you, if you've done everything GameFAQs said, then you shouldn't have a problem. Sometimes they get things wrong though so

Well Jeff, thank goodness I decided to do a little more forum researching and found Final Fantasy XII US Forum.. I posted my questions there and got an immediate response.. BTW, I have been using the gamefaq's help but they are not the 'be all and end all' for help and, it turns out, some of their instructions are not quite right.. For instance, telling people in search of Phyllo to run around from south to north through the 2 area's where he's located is really BS.. The fellow who was kind enough to reply to my question about this rare game told me just to kill off the malboro's and he would appear as long as I used Ashe.. He was right.. :) Anyway, I don't know why anyone would bother to create a forum about a game like FF and then not acknowledge anyone who came on it for help.. Seems somehow wrong to me.. Thanks

I don't know if you are even still looking, but SplitInfinity has an amazing guide for rare game. Actually he has great guides for almost everything in this game. I would check him out!

Thanks so much, Knight.. Yes, I do know about Split's guides.. =) I've been using them for years.. He must have the patience of a saint to do those and they've helped many a stuck gamer, including myself, but again, I've found a lot of help on different FF forums.. This one has been the exception, sorry about that, but not responding to someone who needs help is not my idea of a great forum.. Final Fantasy XII US Forum has been fantastic in helping me find those last 4 rares and in fighting Zodiark and Yiazmat too.. I think this forum needs to realize people not only come on here for help but just to chat, give ideas and opinions about the game.. To completely ignore them is not only rude but, to me at least, defeats the purpose of a forum entirely.. Thanks again.. Cya

Well not to sure if you've finished, but Gemhorn, there's the treasure monster where you kill Diabolos. I know that people frequently forget about that. Just suggestion.

This thread is almost 3 years old. That person most likely hasn't been back since.
