What do u think is the coolest sword u've ever seen in a game and not particulary in a ff game but in any game.

Mine would b the Soul Reaver from Soul Reaver 1,2 and Blood Omen 2. This sword really kicks ass it is the oldest sword that excists and there is a story about it 2 but I'm not going to tell u cause it contains spoilers, but the story behind the sword is REALLY complicated.

Id have to say Tidus's Caldbolg. I could have said another game instead of a FF one but the way the sword looks and with the PS2 graphics...it just looked wicked.

Oh geez, I would have to say Sephiroths Masamune or Squall's Gunblade, those are both very very cool...

Armgrim's (sp?) Sword in Valkyrie Profile. It's long and it can do some decent damage. o_O

Probaly the Caldbolg as well. It just looks really good and cool and such other stuff xD
Another cool sword is Seifer's Hyperion.

Cloud's Ultima Weapon. Simply the coolest sword around.

As I said it doesn't have to be a FF sword any sword will do.

The Soul Reaver, definately. Its just so useful :D

Personally, I prefer the halberd Caladbolg from Brigandine...there arent many swords i care for specifically.

I'm torn between two swords.

Number one is Justin's Spirit Sword from Grandia 1. There is a big build up to Justin receiving the sword, and is easily the strongest weapon in the game.

Number two, and probably slightly edging ahead, is the Star Dragon Sword that Viktor carries in the Suikoden series. That sword is entertaining in that it argues back. Nothing like a talking sword to make things interesting.

Another of my favorite swords is the Ainkurn Sword. This is the a sword from the game Vampire: The Masquerade Redemption and it ignores the enemy's defense so it always does max damage and further it can steal the blood from ur enemy's while attacking.

i think the gunblade is, or the mursame.

In Zelda: Majora's Mask, that one mask you get for trading in all optional masks....I forget what it's called, but it turns you into an awesome dude. Anyway, his sword looked crazy awesome. If not him, then I'd say Sephiroth from FF7. Long as hell sword..

Well, without going to FF7 topic, i'll say that Jubei's sword from Ninja Scroll kicks ass.

Soul Calibur. The rolling eye, what more could you ask for. Caladbold is cool to.

Nightmare's sword from Soul Calibur is definitely the best sword.

i also like the Lionheart and flame sabar

the best sword. ahh that's a though one y'all. hmmmm, well let me just name a few sick ones; Lionheart, gunblade(Squally), ultimate weapon (Cloudy), that sword from Gatsu(from Berserk), several blades from '7 blades'(unknown ps2 game- sick stylee though), and that sword from that cool guest in Soul Calibur(just played it today for the first time on dreamcast at my mate his place. And offcourse- Kenshins legendary blade: "woooh! momma!!!" (man I'm lovely childish today!)
And ehrmm...well something like that. Yeah let's keep it on this, if something poppes in my head I will add it here, allright?

One of my favorite swords is Tenchi's sword in the first epiosode in Tenchi in Tokyo. It was cool. I also like Lightsabres and beamsabres.

I always liked the biggoron sword from zelda orcarina of time.

But also the Guarda Revanche from Betrayal at Krondor. This sword is so strong that if you add the right modifiers, i.e poison...steelfire, you can actualy give the enemys negitive damage due to messing with the damage calculator. :)

The Revolver Gunblade ore Ivy's(I think) sword from Soul Caliber 2(I think). <=The one that can become a cool whip.

The coolest sword would the one and only EXCALIBUR, King Arthur's sword ! I just love the name, plus it is the ultimate blade of Light ;)

Another sword that I like is the Equalizer from Baldures GateII it is the ultimate neutrality sword. And the Carsommir +6 is really something.

I like Steiners Ragnarok... it's just... cool...

But I also like The Sword Card, if you've watched Cardcaptors/Cardcaptor Sakura, you'll know what I mean

Sephiroths Masamune, Clouds Marsamune, Ultima Weapon, and Squalls Gunblade. Masamune kicks ass.

Masamune,Ultima weapon, caladbolg and brother hood are cool.
I like the samurai sowrd like Kinshen's. Ivy's blade is cool too.
The coolest is Sigfried's 2nd sowrd.

Viktor's Star Dragon Sword from Suikoden II

The Crissaegrim from Castlevania: SotN, mainly because it's the most entertaining thing I've ever seen. Four lightning-quick strokes, damage for all four, and it's one of the strongest swords in the game. Too much power? Oh, no, my friend, FAR too much power.

well i would have to say my own sword the Alastor it may not be the greatest sword but i like it the best ^_^.

the fairy sword (Majora's mask N64) looks really cool, its got two blades, one straight, and one curved so it goes over the short one, but i am sure there are probably better one's out there.

i like the weapon systom in legond of mana, swords and 2 handed swords included. You can temper them untill they are perfect ^_^

Okay, four swords which kick ass:

1. The Soul Reaver (both the physical and wraith versions). This sword makes the wielder immortal, and the wraith version of it cannot be blocked. It's power grows with each soul it devours (it feeds off it's victims at it contacts them), and it's been consuming souls for millenia, perpetually being used in combat. Quite easily the most powerful sword in existence in any realm (semi-Defiance spoiler).

2. Excalibur, from the legends. The ultimate sword of Light, as has been said. Burning with it's own light, blinding the eyes of all opponents. But it's sheathe is even more valuable than the sword, as long as it's owner can keep the sheathe on, no wounds recieved in battle will spill any blood, and are easily mended.

3. Grayswinder and 4. Dayswinder - Fictional swords from The Amber Saga by Roger Zelazny (nevermind the unimpressive names). Grayswinder is the sword of Chaos and Shadow, it allows the wielder to bend time and space while in combat so as to easily penetrate the enemies armor. Dayswinder, the sword of Chaos and Light, simply obliterates any armor it comes into contact with and immolates those it impales. These two swords can only be blocked by other swords of Chaos, there are two others, but they were destroyed by their maker--who wielded the two remaining swords until he passed each of them on to his two sons when he died, etc. etc.

The HF Blade used by Raiden in MGS 2. It can be switched into 2 modes. Plus, its light and fast..

well, now that i know the japanese history of the 2 legendary swords; masamune and murasame, nothing beats them no matter which game they are on! although, dont u think its strange that on ff7, seph got the holy sword and cloud got the evil one...and the fact that seph is the one winged "angel"... would that make cloud the one winged demon on kh? anyway, off topic...GO MASAMUNE AND MURASAME...

for me, i think the coolest sword is the BrotherHood because of its ocean-like appearance.

there is no compitition when It comes to swords and the best without a doubt would be the BUSTER SWORD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! of course.

It wasn't about an holy and evil sword. It was about a lucky and unlucky sword. That's a little different.Masamune and Murasame weren't the names of the sword, they were the names of the blacksmiths who forged them.

Vagrant Story's Holy Win blade ish a man-sized cross-shaped "sword". It's entertaining to see Ashley Riot swing that thing with his various chain attack animations, sometimes it looks like a golden flash of light as it strikes the enemy. Very, very holy indeed~

The Gunblades were a nice idea!

chainsword from phantasy star online was pretty cool.it was as tall if not taller that the user and had a moving saw around the edge of the blade.

Well, my vote goes to Sephiroth's sword called.......................it's giving me big headache to think about it......... i know it's one of them (MASAMUNE or MURASAME)

the lionheart. Squal's last attack is lionheart hence the name for the gunblade so this is the best weapon for the century

yes true that sword is the best shame they put it into a kinda boring game ff8 was the first game i played i loved it till i played ff7 now i find ff8 boring but any way the best sword before ff8 is the samari sword that cloud can use now thats a pretty cool sword
