Well I'm right at the point where Brahne sends the Bomb to destroy the ship, and I see no differences so far. Also, i was able to load a save file from my previous play through Disc 1 with ePSXe, so I'm not convinced that this is actually a beta version.

Well these guys who release this kind of material always make sure what their buying into is real.

Being a Beta version doesn't make it very different but I assume some dialogue is altered at least.

Apparently, I've checked everything on an in depth FFIX script on gamefaqs, and I've been mistaken. Sorry guys :(

But I'm sure there are going to be some obvious differences after entering Lindblum. After all its just the beginning of the game.

Well, there must only be minor changes then. The only thing I could imagine that's different now is possibly animations. Then again, it seems no one else in the Final Fantasy is even bothering to find out the differences (if any) so I guess this is a first.

I have read before about a bug affecting early versions of the game that allows you to glitch the game by getting a flying chocobo before you have access to the Hilda Garde III. Somebody try this out if you get far enough along and see if you can do this.

See if you can do the chocobo hot & cold game on disc 3 before Zidane gives Dagger the garnet (ie. before Esto Gaza), up to the point you can dive for treasures. The treasure at the bottom of Quan's Dwelling may have garnets in it.

I have one of the early releases of the Japanese FFIX, and this was a "glitch" that was changed in all of the English copies of FFIX I've played. The garnets were changed to ores so you couldn't get Dagger the Bahamut/garnet ability earlier than the plotline dictates.

Dunno if that's something that counts. ^^

Sure it counts, if it gives you something that you shouldn't be able to have access to, according to the dictates of the plot.

Yep, exactly. If you can manage that, then you should be able to glitch the game. Save a backup savefile, of course.

Don't you need to get the Gold Chocobo, then go to the Air Garden in order for the game to glitch?

Erm, I dunno. Do you? I mean I would think just the fact that you would be able to navigate to places such as Daguerreo that you normally wouldn't be able to access without the Hilda Garde III would cause it to be glitchy.
