Does getting all the Al Bhed Primers get you anything later on in the game besides knowing the language completely. I am only about three hours into the game so I wanted to ask to see if it would be a terrible thing if I missed one later on that could only be gotten then?

Although most of the text is being said in English by Rikku or Cid just in other words.

I could translate Al Bhed pretty fluently after playing through the game a few times. I suppose I was overexposed to it.

There are like four primers that are permanently missable in Home and Bevelle (and one on the ship at the beginning, obviously, but I assume you got it. And I think one of the ones on the SS ships is missable cause the place where it is acts like a rest area later. Not sure about more, but either way, you can always get them in another game file and load them on the Al Bhed Compilation sphere! Ever think of that?

Also there IS a reward other than being able to read it. If you get all 26 and talk to Rin on the airship, he gives you 99 Underdog's Secrets. I think thats what it is, maybe Gambler's Spirit... been a while.

Hehe, that's actually used as a great trick to fighting Evrae, as soon as you get to Rin there the first time you can have all your Al Bhed primers from another game compiled, thereby completing the collection and getting those 99 US as soon as you meet Rin and make Evrae an easy fight.

If you don't get the ones like in Bevelle or something, you can always make a new game and remember to find that al bhed primer. If you do find it, you can find like a little blue hemisphere looking thing in the airship and compile your books. Then the ones you found in the new game that you DIDN'T find in your old game will be added. Of course, this is quite a bit of work too.

why would u do that???

gil in ffx isn't really important because most of the best weapons u usually find. the only time gil is important is with potions and O'aka's
