Usually people request music, but this is a little different. (I also already have the music, anyway).

I'm hoping that since there are many rippers here, they can provide me with a niche request.

I'm looking for the sound effects (Weapons, characters, monsters, ambient loops ect) from the following ps2 games -

- Soul Calibur 3
- God of War 1-2
- Metal Gear Solid 3

Additionally, I am looking for the sound effects from the following PC games. These may be considerably more difficult to get a hold of. I have been unsuccessful myself. Again, I already have the music. I am looking specifically for sound effects to add to my library.

- Heroes of Might and Magic 5 + both expansions
- Lineage 2

As for formats... well, I'd prefer to have the files as individual mp3s, wavs or oggs, but I'll take a single stream as well, so long as it's unencrypted and I can open it in goldwave or audition. I am not terribly concerned about naming conventions; I can sort them if I need to.

Hopefully someone will be able to help.

edit - Added lineage 2. None of the Unreal editors want to open the decrypted files. :\

I was able to extract the sounds from lineage 2 myself, but the others are well beyond my abilities.

Hey man, i know this is a real long shot but was wondering if you could still get your hands on the Lineage 2 sounds? Not looking for the sound tracks, just everything else, creature and world sounds ect. Let me know as it would be a massive help to me if i could get my hand on them.

Thanks for any help

I was able to extract all sounds from Lineage 2 using Gildor's tools. A google search for those should land you in the right place.

How do i go about doing it? Do i need a copy of the game on disc to extract the sounds from that?

Thanks

Yes, but iirc the game is free to play now so acquiring the client should be trivial.

Gildor's tools comes with instructions how to use it. You want umodel, iirc. It's a command line tool, but extraction is as simple as feeding it a command per archive.

Really cant get my head around umodel. I cant even create a .bat file haha. I do have the lineage game files and im guessing its the uax and ogg files i want to extract from?

Open a command window in the folder containing the archives. I don't have the stuff on me at hand, but it's probably the .uax files (the oggs are music). You can open a command window to that folder on windows 7 (and probably vista) by shift right clicking the folder from a folder above and clicking "open command window here".

With umodel and its other stuff already inside that folder with the archives, I believe you type something like umodel.exe -export -all *.uax (with * being the archive name)
This will dump files to appropriately named folders in that directory.

Ok so i created the .bat files using the guide here How to Extract using uModel like a Pro (http://www.gildor.org/smf/index.php/topic,184.0.html). I place both bat files (bUmodel.bat and runner.bat) in the Umodel folder i made in drive C along with the umodel.exe, SDL.dll and the readme.txt file. I copid the uax files from the Linage folder into the umodel folder and double clicked 'bUmodel.bat' but nothing seems to happen. I just get the dos page saying 'file not found'. What am i doing wrong?

I never did anything with bats, I just did it the manual way.

Is there anyway to extract the ogg file also?

I think the oggs are encrypted. But you can probably find decrypted versions on this forum or on google if you look hard enough. The oggs aren't archives, they're actual music files.
