should I do this?

Also: How's the grind? I know it takes forever to level up but is it fun?

I don't recommend.

I'm sorely tempted to return to this game, especially since my best friend wants to as well, but I know that it'd be the worst idea ever.

The grind can range from monotonously boring to actually, well, fun. You have to use teamwork and if you can get a party working like a well-oiled machine, with joking and banter among members, it is awesome. One of the best gaming experiences, really.

It's all the other crap - all the grinding for money, all the farming, all the playing the auction house, all the BCNMs, NM hunting, all the missions and quests that you want to do but you NEED the help of other people, and genkai, and rse equipment, and whatnot - all THAT makes the game miserable (actually some of that can be really fun if it goes well but for the most part leads to pain and tears).

As an FFXI addict who is struggling to not return, I certainly can't blame you for trying it. I have no idea if the problems I (and many other people) had with the game are still there, but chances are they are... Also, I should say more often than not the grind is boring and painful, and only with luck is it as fun as it can be.

Thanks Wattson! I was worried about stuff like that happening because it isn't really what I feel like putting up with.

Don't play this one.

I played for over 3 years, and its quite hard and time consuming. A LOT things, you need 6 ppl, then come Dynamis and Limbus, for those you need at least 32 ppl. Now imagine 32 ppl wanting something else you want? Its a true hell.

I would only play again if I could use it as private server, and even so it wouldn't last 10 days.

Assuming you're being serious, the fact that every one of those links points to FFShrine only means that a mod or admin got to the post and removed the addresses that were linked.
