Here are some of the rap songs I have performed at various venues around the world.

They are entitled "That ain't gangsta", "How to rob" and "Surrounded by hoes."

That ain't gangsta

[Verse 1:]
How you gonna take this? like a Man or a bitch?
you gon' get it on nigga or you gon' snitch?
I represent niggas in the hood gettin' rich
man, I stack chips and I unload clips
after 3 Summers in the joint I thought life was hard
some niggas started fightin', some niggas found God
you know me, started sellin' leek in the yard
yo, I ran into niggas who used to have Hummers
big as Hell in the joint wearin' '86 numbers
damm Dog, you been in here that long?
you could think that, but say that and yo' ass is dead wrong
a convo is only three words, "yo whattup"
you ain't gotta work out to leave this bitch cut up
let a nigga find out you on some goin' home shit
and you tryin' to bounce without payin' a loan, shit
some niggas beat cases on the strength of they cream
after the witnesses disappeared on the strength of they team
I'm hard as Hell to get along wit' so it never fails
a nigga I got beef with end up in the same jail
he had a L rolled in bible paper blowin' the lye
I sent him a little kite just to be blowin' his high
and when I shot you in NewYork why would I box you now?
If I catch you in the yard I'm'a ox you down
niggas you think is real really can't hold they own
I'll have 'em on some E.T. shit tryin' to phone home
in here a gemstar is like a Nine Milly chrome
it's similar, infact they'll both split ya dome
scars are souvenirs, niggas always take 'em home.

[Chorus]
You got blown over the jack? (that ain't gangsta)
Your Man ran when you got clapped? (that ain't gangsta)
rockin' a vest with no gat? (that ain't gangsta)
you only a thug when you rap? (that ain't gangsta)
niggas jooked you for your track? (that ain't gangsta)
you ran to other thugs to get it back? (that ain't gangsta)
niggas ran off with your packs? (that ain't gangsta)
If you ain't bustin' ya gat (that ain't gangsta)

[Verse 2:]
You'd call me an Animal if you seen me livin' on lock
I stay in a box cats be shook when I'm visitin' pop-ulation
when I walk by, niggas like "Fifty don't play Son"
"yeah, somethin' really wrong with that nigga..."
max out, I'm goin' straight for the glock
bust a u-turn, I'm goin' straight to the block
the things that'll happen if niggas say I can't eat
down goes the window....out goes the heat
I'll make the whole block look like a fuckin' trackmeet
some get it in the leg, some get it in the back
some get it in the foot, bleed all over their airmax
nigga pump my packs or pay poor tax
it's extortion, it happens in the hood often
claim more lives than choices, free abortions
Rich Nice says I got a problem with the dice
'cause I put the title to the Benz on the line twice
I rock shit 'cause I stay on that block shit
that 9mm Ruger to your knot shit
see the difference is I'm real and you not, kid
I still stash crack money in my sock, shit
ya'll niggas wanna pop shit? I pop clips
leave with your blood on my mink in the drop Six
Guiliani and Pataki can't stop this
since '86 my whole clique pop Criss.

[Chorus]
5-5-1 BLLLAAAP BLLLAAAP!!
1-3-4 BLLLAAAP BLLLAAAP!!
What the fuck you know about that?

How to rob

[Madd Rapper]
The art of getting robbed
This is how we do Brooklyn style boy you know what I'm sayin?

[50 Cents]
R.I.P B.I.G, R.I.P P-A-C, R.I.P enough of that, shit, it's time to OD
Aiyyo the bottom line is I'ma crook with a deal
If my record don't sell I'ma rob and steal
You better recognize nigga I'm straight from the street
These industry niggaz startin to look like somethin to eat
I'll snatch Kim and tell Puff, "You wanna see her again?"
Get your ass down to the nearest ATM
I have dreams of fuckin an R&B bitch
And I'll wake up early and bounce with all your shit
When I apply pressure, son it aint even funny
I'm about to stick Bobby for some of that Whitney money
Brian McKnight, I can get that nigga anytime
Have Keith sweatin starin down the barrel from my nine
Since these Harlem World niggaz seem to all be fam
I put the gun to Cardan tell him, "Tell your man
Mason Betha, haha, come up of that watch now
I mean right now"
The only excuse for being broke is bein in jail
An entertainer can't make bail if he broke as hell
I'd rob ODB but that'd be a waste of time
Probably have to clap him run and toss the nine
I'd follow Fox in the drop for four blocks
Plottin to juice her for that rock Kurupt copped
What Jigga just sold like 4 mil? He got somethin to live for
Don't want no nigga puttin four thru that Bentley Coupe door
I'll man handle Cas like "Duke get on the ground"
You ain't with Mary no more where gettin chips from now?
I been skeamin on Tone and Poke since they found me
Steve know not to wear that platinum shit around me
I'm a klepto nah for real son I'm sick
I'm bout to stick Slick Rick for all that old school shit
Right now I'm bent and when I get like this I don't think
About to make Stevie J take off that tight ass mink
I'll rob Pun without a gun snatch his piece then run
This nigga weigh 400 pounds, how he gon catch me son?

[Madd Rapper]
[(Chorus) 2x]
This aint serious
Being broke can make you delirious
So we rob and steal so our ones can be bigger
50 Cent how it feel to rob and industry nigga?

[50 Cents]
Ill catch P and Silk The Shocker right after the Grammies
And Will Smith and Jada ass down in Miami
Run up on Timberland and Missy w/the pound
Like you gimme the cash and u put the hot dog down
I figured it out
Been robbin Joe before that's why his ass
don't wanna be a playa no more
Mad at you I'm robbin J.D., FUCK YOU!! PAY ME!!
Had Da Brat with em, shoulda had his gat with him
DMX wanna get down well you tell homey
I'm on that Treach shit, I do my +Dirt All By My Lonely+
I should rob Clue man his shit did well
I wanna stick TQ but his shit ain't sell
I hit the studios take niggaz jewels and leave
Catch Rae Ghost and RZA for them funny ass rings
Tell Sticky gimme the cash before I empty three
Ill beat your ass like that white boy on MTV
Cannibus wanna battle while I'm stickin them up
Fuck the cab the coroners pickin him up
Heavy tried to hide his shit, nigga try to stall ya
He said "Why you robbin me I got _Nuttin But Love_ for ya!"
Caught Juvenile for his Cash Money piece
Told him I want it all he said, "Even my gold teeth?"
I caught Blackstreet on a back street in a black jeep
One at a time get out and take off your shine
Did you ever think that you would be this rich?
Did you ever think that you would have these hits?
Did you ever think that I'd flash the nine?
And walk off with your shit like it's mine?
I'ma keep stickin niggas until I'm livin'
I'll rob Boys II Men like I'm Michael Bivins
Catch Tyson for half that cash like Robyn Givens
I'm hungry for real im bout to stick Mister C
That nigga still eatin off Big's first LP
I had Busta and the whole Flipmode on the floor
He asked me if I had enuff I told him "Gimme Some More"
Is you feelin this? Then wait for the sequel
I gotta get Kirk Franklin for robbin Gods People

[Madd Rapper]
[chorus]
For real yo you know what I'm sayin?
Niggas got to get stuck up that's just how it goes down
It don't matter if you an industry nigga or a regular nigga
It don't matter, if you got it and I need it I want it
50 Cents ain't fuckin around

Crazy Cat ain't fuckin around
The Madd Rapper aint fuckin around

Surrounded by hoes

[Chorus: repeat 2X]
Everywhere I'm at everywhere I go, I stay surrounded by hoes
Even when I'm tryin to be on the low, I'm recognized by hoes
Man, its gotta be cause of the dough, its got to be cause of the dough
Cause the game sure wasn't like this before, it wasn't like this before

[Verse One]
50 Cent I'm makin hits now
Don't try an act like you ain't heard I'm the shit now
Some bitches changed, cause they know I'm fittin to blow
You should see how they react when I come through the door
In the club my niggaz, we fittin to ball out
Drink till we fall out
Some shit jump off, nigga we goin all out
Shots big enough to tear the fuckin wall out
I'll have your punk ass on the dance floor tryin to crawl out
I had bad luck, then my luck changed up
You see the Range, you see the rims all blinged up
You ain't hear what I charge for 16, I'm makin a killin
These other rap niggaz just catching feelings

[Chorus]

Haha, yeah
Yeah that's it nigga, what the fuck you thought
I ain't giving niggaz more than 16 for a motherfuckin freestyle
The fuck you want for free man
Ya'll niggaz be wanting a lot for free man
Fuck them other niggaz, other niggaz can't rap
That's why they give you 100 motherfuckin bars for nothing man
You know what I mean
Fuck that shit man, I ain't gonna sit there rappin to you all night
Haha, the fuck man

Here are some more.

They are called "I'll still kill" and "I get money"

I'll still kill

[Chorus (Akon):]
Don't even look at me wrong when I come through the 'hood
Ain't nothin' changed, still holla at my homies (oh)
And when I hit the block I still, will kill!
And I don't want, nigga but I will if I got to, kill!
If niggas get to fuckin' around

[Verse 1: 50 Cent]
Yeah!
Respect come from admiration or fear
You can admire me or you can catch one in your wig
You see the Testarossa, the toasters right on my lap
So if a nigga get outta line, a nigga get clapped
I got an arsenal of infiltry, I'm built for this mentally
That's why I'm the general, I do what they pretend to do
Front on me now nigga I will be the end of you
Forget your enemies and think of what your friends'll do
I drop a bag off, then let a mag off
The Hecklar Koch should tear half of your ass off
I'm not for the games, I'm not for all the playin'
The hollow tips rain, when I unleash the pain
Get the message from my lines or get the message from the .9's
Paint a picture with words, you can see when I shine
Put my back on the wall nigga, watch me go for mine
I let 21 shots off at the same time, yeah!

[Chorus (Akon)]

[Verse 2: 50 Cent]
Yeah!
Where I'm from death is always in the air homie
Nanna love me so you know she say my prayers for me
I come creepin' through the hood wearin' Teflon
Hit the corners motherfuckers get left on
Niggas know if not they better check my background
Try and stick me, I'll fill your back with mac rounds
Ask Preme nigga 50 don't back down
I kick it funky like fiends in a crack house
Cross the line boy I'm gonna air your ass out
Screw your face at me, I wanna know what thats 'bout
Nigga I know you ain't mad, I done came up
And if you are, fuck you 'cause I ain't changed up
The O.G's wanna talk but I don't know these niggas
And I ain't did no business with 'em, I don't owe these niggas
A minute of my time, get it 'cause I grind
All across the globe like the worlds mine
Yeah!

[Chorus (Akon)]

[Verse 3: Akon]
Konvict!
Now tell me have you ever looked up in the distance
And seen a mac aimin' at your head man
Before you know it, life is flashin', reminiscing and your body is drippin' and full of lead man
I done been there (uh huh),
I done cocked that (uh huh),
It ain't ever been a question about that
Don't go there, you'll get cocked at, and if you plan to fuck around and rewrite that
You'll never catch me ridin' around on these streets, without a couple meta pieces under my feet
Fully automatic weapons and know it was done deeds
Smash up under the carpet like a Tennessee breeze, but 50 don't make me ride on these niggas
(Hey)
'cause I will kill, dip and hide on these niggas, 50 don't make me ride on these niggas
'cause I been long gone like the ripper, so..

[Chorus (Akon)]

I get money

get money, I get money, I get I get I get money (50)

[Chorus]
I get money, money is got (I I get it)
I get money, money is got (I I get it)
I get money, money is got (Yeah)
Money I got, money is got (I run New York!)
I get money, money is got (I I get it)
I get money, money is got (I I get it)
I get money, money is got (Yeah yeah)
Money I got, money is got (I run New York!)

[Verse 1]
I take quarter water sold it in bottles for 2 bucks,
Coca-Cola came and bought it
For billions, what the f**k?
Have a baby by me; baby
Be a millionaire
I write the check before the baby comes,
Who the f**k cares
Im stanky rich
Ima die tryna spend this shit
Southside's up in in this bitch

Now i play on boats
In the south of France

Get a tan? im already black
Rich? I'm already that
Gangsta, get a gat
Hit a head in a hat
Call that a riddle rap
Shit, f**k the chitter chat
I'm the baker, i bake the bread
The barber, i cut ya head
The marksman, i spray the lead
"I blood clot, chop ya leg"
Do not f**k with the kid

[Chorus:]

I get money, money is got (I I get it)
I get money, money is got (I I get it)
I get money, money is got (Yeah yeah)
Money I got, money is got (I run New York!)

[Verse 2]
You can call this my new shit
But it aint new tho
I got rid of my old bitch
Now i got new hoes
First is was the Benzo
Now im in the Enzo, Ferrari, im sorry!
I keep blowin up! (Oh!!)
They call me the cake man
The strawberry shake man
I spray the AR
Make your whole click breakdance
Backspin, headspin, flatline, ya dead then

I was young, i couldnt do good
Now i cant do bad
I ride, wreck the new Jag
I just buy the new Jag
Now nigga why you mad?
Oh you cant do that
Im so forgetful, they callin me cocky
I come up out the jewler, they callin me Rocky
Its the ice on my neck man, the wrist and my left hand
Bling like BLAOW
You like my style
Ha ha im headin to the bank right now

[Chorus:]

Yeah, I talk the talk, and I walk the walk
Like a teflon Don, but i run New York
When i come outta court, yea i pop the Colt
I keep it gangsta, have ya outlined in chalk

First off, fuck you. That racist bullshit is not called for. People are a product of their environment, if you were born into a violent enviroment you would adapt as well. You'd be crazy too if everything you did in attempt to do right was not available for you. No jobs..crime filled schools...and no one or nothing to help you.

I'm sure life is all grand for in the suburbs where your mommy and daddy buy you everything and you work at the local starbucks.

Fuck Rap. MetalNutz wasn't being racial there "Bus Driver." He wasn't simply stating all rap has is lyrics, and its all pretty much the same subject matter, everytime there is a new rap song, the words are shifted around a little bit, thats all there is here with these "Songs."

Rap fucking sucks donkey dick and will never out live real music with real musicians with instruments.

then again monkeys flinging their crap at other monkeys can be more artistic

So calling black people monkeys is not racist?

He wasn't simply stating all rap has is lyrics, and its all pretty much the same subject matter, everytime there is a new rap song, the words are shifted around a little bit, thats all there is here with these "Songs."

You are judging by what is popular and what sells. I won't lie, rap is at a commercial high and artists are being pushed to give into what sells.

Regardless, there are plenty of rappers who have strong lyrical content that are actually trying to say something. From your words, you seem to be going off what you hear on the radio.

The same can be said for rock..or alternative..whatever it is now. Despite a few they are mainly cliche.

Rap fucking sucks donkey dick and will never out live real music with real musicians with instruments.

Creating beats and knowing how to use studio equipment takes actual skill.

And as much as you would like to believe, rapping is not just talking. Having your words flow in harmony to the beat, saying the words in the right tone of voice..basically as we say in the industry...delivery. You can't just say this way or that way..you have to say it just right.

As I have said, the other music genres don't exactly have much to say these days either.

I listen to all kinds of music..from Nas to Jay-Z, from T.I. to Lupe Fiasco...from The Beatles to Lynard Skynard.

I can tell you're the type to deny mainstream music, so know the subject before you speak on it.

Domingo

I don't think the monkeys were some sort of metaphor for black people... just the idea of monkeys throwing shit around could be more artistic than rap. Nothing racist about it.

Valerie Valens
02-14-2008, 07:52 AM
The same can be said for rock..or alternative..whatever it is now. Despite a few they are mainly cliche.

Unfortunately, for your argument, you are just stating the obvious without realizing the implications of it. Songs about broken love and going against the grain has been a clich far longer then rock and alternative has been to associate them with, and with good reason. Many would relate to having their hearts broken, many would relate to how they believe that many social norms have outlived their welcome in society. Life as a gangster, talking about themselves in a self-aggrandizing manner (unwarranted self-importance), fucking with prostitutes and capping cops however, are all uncreative wankery. The lyrics are in a disasterously hilarious manner, completely disconnected from the reality of the hardships they try to express themselves going through. Nobody but the utter scum of society could even remotely relate to this.

Now I know that there are rap tracks that talk about more wholesome subjects, but you know..."Despite a few they are mainly cliche." ;D

Creating beats and knowing how to use studio equipment takes actual skill.

I can easily fart out a better beat in 5 minutes using Cakewalk MC pro 2004. If laying down beats take any skill at all, it is easily diminuitive to the creative skill required to...I dunno, lay down melodies with interesting harmonization instead of spamming IV-V-vi progressions?

And as much as you would like to believe, rapping is not just talking. Having your words flow in harmony to the beat, saying the words in the right tone of voice..basically as we say in the industry...delivery. You can't just say this way or that way..you have to say it just right.

Now you are just pulling shit out of your ass. Where is the musical theory behind those oh-so-subtle and artistic intonations in their syllables?

As I have said, the other music genres don't exactly have much to say these days either.

You are a retard for saying that. That is a small-minded excuse used by uncreative hackjobs.

I listen to all kinds of music..from Nas to Jay-Z, from T.I. to Lupe Fiasco...from The Beatles to Lynard Skynard.

Good for you, now can you tell me how you still turned out to be so ignorant about the music you listen to?

I can tell you're the type to deny mainstream music, so know the subject before you speak on it.

I can tell you're the type to resort to pointless ad hominem.

I hate how you cant fucking say the word monkey in front of a black person and they suddenly think you are insulting them. Poor choice of words on the posters part, but obviously not something that was intended to be racist. Jesus christ.

As far as mainstream rap vs. mainstream other stuff, i like mainstream rap D: I might not be able to relate to the lyrics, but I find them clever for the most part. Certainly more clever than other shit I hear on the radio, but I'm sure others disagree.

As you go into less mainstream stuff, I tend to go other routes, but still enjoy a good hip-hop song.

I've heard some really talented people play some music that really required a lot of skill and ... hated it. Because it just wasn't my style, I didn't like the beat/flow. While I can appreciate that a person or group does a good job musically, I'm not going to force myself to listen to it because he does a mean guitar. Of course, it helps if I already like the song to begin with.

We can go back and forth about this, but you will never understand. You are apparently hung up on stereotypes and will call rap "uncreative wankery" regardless. You have your opinion, I have mine and we'll leave it there.

I don't think the monkeys were some sort of metaphor for black people... just the idea of monkeys throwing shit around could be more artistic than rap. Nothing racist about it.

exactly.

Coming up with beats and all that shit may take a little bit of effort, thats the producers job, not the "Musicians." Just about every other genre of music its more technical and well Musical. Rappers have it very easy. I've been playing classical, spanish, rock, and metal guitar, plus drums since I was 5. No rapper can top what i've accomplished as a musician. they will never come close. Now, I may not be a pop star with millions of dollars and all that shit, but I am way more musically enclined than some fucking rapper

why do people always get into an argument about rap vs rock. everyone should just gang up on techno/trance if arguing about musical skills

Seriously learn some stanza structure. Your lines are nothing new, for real I can turn the radio on and get tons of this "badass" from the hood shit. You wanna prove you a thug, tell me your story don't tell me that you rob and kill people. Rap is more than violence it's can be an autobiography set to a rhythm and beat. Be real cause right now the streets is fake as synthetic shit. And before you say something about what I know about the hood, I was raised in Brooklyn N.Y., near Flatbush.

@Everybody why are you getting off topic just comment on if you like his lyrics or not don't just spam with racist debates and stupid rap debates. in case everyone forgot you are entitled to your opinion as long as you remember it doesn't mean shit.

[Intro] (talking)
Niggaz

We 'bout to go hard on these hoes wit this one right here

[Chorus]
Can you control yo hoe?
You got a bitch, that won't do what you say

You got to control yo hoe..

[Verse] (Snoop laughing)
I came to your house
Your girl came in and started cursin' you out
You shoulda slapped her in her face
I wanted to tell you, but it wasn't my place
I kept on the low
'Cause I knew that you was gonna check that hoe
But, you were quiet as a mouse
Made me start to think that it wasn't your house (house)
'Cause she was acting like a nut
You got the kind of bitch that will kick your butt
What kind of pimp holds back
Never met a bitch that a pimp can't slap (ha)
What's wrong with the pimpin'
Why you gettin' a whippin'
All I see is simpetttes

[Chorus]
Can you control yo hoe?
You got a bitch, that won't do what you say
You can't control yo hoe
She hard-headed and she just won't obey
Can you control yo hoe?
You got to know what to do and what to say
Listen.

You got to put that bitch in her plaaacce
Even if it's slappin' her in her face
You got to control yo hoe..

[Hook]
This is what you made me do
I really didn't wanna put hands on you
But, bitch you playing with fi-ire

Of loud mouth bitches like you
A nigga had to go and put tips on you
'Cause bitch you playing with fi-ire

I really didn't wanna put hands on you
But, bitch you playing with fi-ire
I'm so sick and ti-ired
Of loud mouth bitches like you
So a nigga had to go and put tips on you
Bitch you playing with fi-ire
I'm so sick and ti-ired

[Chorus]
Can you control yo hoe?
You got a bitch, that won't do what you say
You can't control yo hoe
She hard-headed and she just won't obey
Can you control yo hoe?

Fitty Pennies blows. 'Nuff Said.

In fact, most if not all mainstream rap sucks. It's all about pimpin', how much ice/money they got, how many people they've shot/robbed/whatever, and how many hoes they pull. What-the-fuck-ever. I can remember when rap was actually about something meaningful, instead of this tired, hackneyed crap that pollutes the radio airwaves these days. Underground rap blows away everything the mainstream is doing these days.

And Locke, I don't agree that making rap songs is any easier than creating something more harmonic in nature. It can be just as hard as creating, say, a traditional rock song can be... Unless the rap artist in question is just a lazy ass and just slaps together the same old recycled garbage as everyone else (which is definitely a trend in the mainstream, in ALL genres). I should know how difficult it can be, because I am, myself, an underground rapper (mainly horrorcore/acid rap; I stay away from that tired gangsta shit as much as possible). And I think you don't really understand that some rappers actually can and do play instruments on their tracks. I myself play guitar and keyboard on my entirely self-produced shiz. Not every rapper in the game has someone else producing their instrumentals. You shouldn't generalize like that, man.

That being said... Music is an extremely subjective topic. What's good to some ain't necessarily good to others. However, I think everyone is in agreement that those Fitty Pennies songs blowed goats. :))

hey if i was from the hood, was a drug dealer, and got popped ten times i would probably try out rap too, whats there to lose at that point?

and if we all really cared about lyrics, there wouldn't be j-pop/k-pop/tribal bongos threads on this site

I love it when people complain about rap or use the "real instrument" or "musical talent" argument. Because there's crap in every genre, and sad to say, this particular one just has the most negative on the mainstream.

If you listen (or try to) to rap and were expecting _____ in even the slightest, then listen to _____ and stop bitching.

J. Peterman
03-29-2008, 08:28 AM
cococococococo you see rap is bad because they cuss sometimes and i am not liking that

also the rhythm and stuff in rap is not my taste and i am country boy myself lol not really

pokemon songs i would rather listen to (don't take as insult i am huge pokemon fan)

cococococococo you see rap is bad because they cuss sometimes and i am not liking that

You could curse in any genre and still like it to a degree, but rap just does it the most. Not exactly a reason to hate it altogether.

I guess whatever argument I was trying to make was that I'd respect you(random person, not anyone in particular) more if you simply said "I don't like ___" rather than "___ sucks, and let me pull a list out of my ass of why I don't like it". If you're talking to someone using the latter who predominately listens to Rap, that shit will get old real quick, and your argument will fall on deaf ears every time.

oh, and Pokemon music rocks my socks. Not really. But I'd listen to that as opposed to ..um....Soulja Boi.

something amusingly random

hey hey now, don't be so quick to spread the dislike to ALL of rap, I agree that most of the mainstream crap out there is relative to well an ameoba or paramecium or maybe monkey fecies, but the underground stuff is the shiza, only a few mainstream rap artists catch my eye , and by a few I mean like 1 or 2 other than that it's a very played out and "meh been there done that" kind of music genre. I'm more into orchestra, symphonies, and classical oh yeahhhh

The main reason why most people dont like rap on here is because they are those nerdy D&D kids you see listening to pearl jam and playing Dragon Quest 7 alone in their room. They only hang with the gothic crowd and do not get out much. They fear any form of music that is different then theirs. Plus they are borderline xenophobes. I feel sorry for some of you.

For those that are getting into the raps, check out the following.

Underground:
Cannibal Ox
El-P
Madlib
Madvillian
MF Doom
Jaylib
J-Dilla
Quasimoto
Dizzee Rascal
Del The Funkee Homosapian
Fat Jon
Nujabes
Nomak

Mainstream:
Cam'ron
Hell Rell
40 Cal
Freeky Zeeky
Nas
Rakim
Krs-One
Gangstaar
Guru
Group Home
Mc Eiht
Dj Quik
Lord Infamous

Here are some rappers from different areas of the raps. Check em out. And to the racist people on this board.....Fuck You. Have a nice day.

QFT! And i have to say NAS, Rakim and Gangstarr are probably the best Mainstream rappers ever. I love mostly Underground and Old-School HipHop such as Tupac(Legend), Nas, BoneThugsHarmony, DMX, WuTang, Gangstarr,KRS-One,Rakim,Luniz,AZ,Notorious Big and many more.
I don't like the Mainstream music nowadays such as 50 Cent, Soulja Boy, The Game, Lil'Wayne, Lil'Jon, Young Weezy and so on. It is all about Violence, sex, women, cars and jewels. What happened to the old music style which was about Life, Society and racism? :(

I have to agree with Palas on this. I think those of you who thinks Rap sucks haven't heard anything but mainstream. That's like saying you hate Final Fantasy's because you played seven or something. There's others you might like.
Rap isn't as shallow as you give it credit for. All forms of music are a lot deeper then how they appear in publicity.
Take me example I used to hate everything BUT rap because it was the only thing that didn't suck on the radio. But that's shallow thinking I realized how wrong I was and how ALL GENRES have good songs if you look hard enough. If you don't think so you haven't looked hard enough.

So be more open and you'll enjoy a lot more music. : )
