Roxas20
12-06-2007, 08:49 PM
I sure don't know what codec it has, but I am psyched to listen to this version. I only have a 4 disc version of the rip, and it didn't have the Twilit Battle track in it at all! And no SFX in this one! SOOOOO PSYCHED!!!

Hey, does anyone have the single for Final Fantasy IV DS yet? I've been looking everywhere to download it, but can't find it. And apparently, Target stores will be selling it starting December 11th...

Thanks for the rip. But Megaupload WILL delete the files via the next couple of days, so prepare to reupload it again.
Maybe you could split the file into two or three parts and upload it to rapidshare or mediafire.

Thanks again for the grand music!!!!!!!!

Sweet Jesus, the sheer among of songs/themes here is enough to make my head spin, but it's impressive none the less. The quality is EXCELLENT, too!

Hearing the Song of Healing without that annoying wolf howl included takes me back :-)

My rips may be uploaded anywhere on condition that the tags and file names are not changed. Feel free to provide mirrors.

The rip is not exactly a disc extract (just the streamed music files playable with hcs's great in_cube plug-in), the sequenced tracks are line-in recordings with disabled sound effects.

This was an excellent rip. I liked how there was some looping in most of my favorite tracks.

Not sure if it was on here, but I think there might have been one missing track... the theme when you talk to Impaz in the Hidden Village...

If it's on here, I guess I missed it by the title of the track or something.

Phew! I just finished organizing all the tracks. The track and disc numbers got jumbled in the move - I was trying to keep the "times played" and "ratings" intact from previous rips. All the essential metadata remained the same (i.e. title, composer), but everything else needed an overhaul.

I don't know why I'm posting this. This is a massive, massive rip, but it was definitely worth organizing.

Posted right when you did... Anyways, you're reuploading it tomorrow? Awesome! But can you not choose megaupload? It tends to delete it after a few days...

Also, if it doesn't bother you, could you upload it in several parts? Some of us (at least I) don't have very fast internet connections, and can have their downloads cut off randomly. If you can, it's okay. Thanks anyway ^^

My rips may be uploaded anywhere on condition that the tags and file names are not changed. Feel free to provide mirrors.
Done. I've uploaded parts 1 and 2 of the file to FileFactory. Expect 3 and 4 soon. Mixup, please edit your first post to include these mirrors so that people can find them easily.
Part 1 (http://www.filefactory.com/file/41d2ba/)
Part 2 (http://www.filefactory.com/file/382457/)
As far as changes are concerned, I've included the track number for each song within the track tags, so that they organize automatically in a playlist. In addition, I took the names in the Composer field and put them in the Artist field, since that's where they typically go. Aside from that, everything else is the same. Lastly, I've included the readme file from the original zip file in each upload, so credit still goes where it's due.

To answer some questions about THIS particular Twilight Princess rip, let me say this: it's great. I don't care if Nintendo releases a full ST for this anymore; who needs it?

The bit rate for this rip varies between 84 kbps (VBR) for the incredibly short songs to 214 kbps (VBR) for the longer ones. The songs all have one loop and have no defects that I can notice.

Thanks very much, Prime Blue (and mixup); the VGM fan community owes you and everyone who helped make that rip a free BJ. I hate to ask this, but:

And just in case the Four Swords Adventures rip has not been posted yet:
Download (MP3_UPDATE):
If your particular rip is free of SFX and all songs are of reasonable length (at least one loop), could you reupload this? Or anyone else?

It certainly has been remarked upon, but it really isn't the kind of thing you can say often enough.

Ah, YES! Finally, an MP3 for the credits WITH the cut scene, WITHOUT Midna's babbling or other irritating sound effects! I loved the music during the cut scene, so I edited my own recording of the music for the credits in an attempt to muffle or be rid of the other noises. It ended up sounding choppy and lame.

But now I don't have to worry! I join the ranks of the greatly thankful!

EDIT: Another great feature: Howl Stone songs minus howling! I love the sixth one.

I'm perfectly okay with that changes. I was talking about changing the track titles and file order in particular.
This is only my second rip to release, so I'm still learning the tagging conventions. Expect them to be more accurate in future releases.
Anyways, thanks for reuploading.

The songs all have one loop and have no defects that I can notice.
There are some minor uncorrectable flaws, I elaborated on them in the README file.

I've heard disc one and all I can say is... amazing! I was actually working on a hq rip of my own, but I think I'm going to abandon my efforts, even I have been beaten this time :).

Unfortunately I'm not having much luck on these file hosters, and by the time I actually get to download more than the second file, the files will probably be deleted once again :(.

Can't someone torrent the release? I mean, this is a truly amazing rip, the selected one that should rightfully live on while other releases die out. At least, that's what I think. This is good enough to be a studio album in terms of quality... it sounds like waves was used for denoising... am I right? :)))

Take care,
Raz

Much better than any other rip I've heard, my only complaint is that you separate the instruments so you can only hear them either from the left or right speaker...

As much as I want to say it's a nice touch, it really does kill it because I concentrate on one side more and it just mucks everything up. Can't really tell you to redo the entire album for this, but it'll be a reference for future work

my only complaint is that you separate the instruments so you can only hear them either from the left or right speaker...

Nintendo composed the files like that.

There seems to be a problem with part 6 of the download, as it comes as just a file with "&amp" added to it. Does anyone else have the same problem, or is it just me?

I think there is a slight issue with the song count. When I took inventory of the songs after deleting duplicates, I came up one short. I There is one unlisted song in the tracklist - the non-MIDI version of Orchestra Piece #2. Also, a shorter version of Midna's Theme is in there, but with seemingly no consequence.

Oh, and as far as the tracks themselves go, the second halves of the Horse Battle and King Bulblin tracks are far too intense for continuous listening. It's great to have them for sound editing, but not for prolonged listening. Perhaps you can separate the tracks next time?

Just thought I'd throw that out there. Constructive criticism for a great rip and all.

Nintendo composed the files like that. You know, stereo audio? And stuff?

I went back and listened, it comes out of every speaker equally for me (And no, it's not on mono)

Prime Blue, did you use the streamed version of the ending credits? I noticed you combined the staff roll into one file... that's what makes me wonder if you just used the line-in for it, or used the actual streamed versions.

Thanks,

Okay, I haven't had a chance to listen to much of this -- I've only downloaded the first two discs -- but what I have listened to is absolutely brilliant. As a general rule, I tend not to download game rips because, usually, they're not very good quality. This is probably one of the best I've ever heard, and as I'm tired of waiting for an official soundtrack release, this will make a lovely addition to the ol' collection.

Cheers! :D

Incidentally, is there an official soundtrack for The Minish Cap, or will I have to hunt down a rip of that, too?

Have I just not found it, or was it somehow overlooked? hey prime blue,

great post, and fantastic music. I'm just curious though, I can't find the 'secret jingle' they play when you complete a puzzle, or unlock a new area in dungeons. Would you happen to know anything on where I could go about finding it? I'd really like a TP version of that noise.

I ask you specifically, because your rip includes the treasure chest, item get, small item, and rupee noises.

Here's a link to an older version of it, so you know what i'm talking about :)

Well, of course it's on the disc. So, you could try to at least "simulate" the effect.
Find the single chime after converting it to a WAV file (I won't go into detail here, you'll have to find out that yourself) - then create a soundfont, compose a MIDI with the 8 tones, play it with SynthFont and add some reverb in post-production to make it sound as close as possible to the original.
That's how I'd do it the reverse-engineering way.

The rip is not exactly a disc extract (just the streamed music files playable with hcs's great in_cube plug-in), the sequenced tracks are line-in recordings with entirely disabled sound effects.

That's one thing that I wish had been included in Prime Blue's readme file. A breakdown of what blended tracks like such as this consist of. Does anyone have encyclopedic enough knowledge of the game's music to identify the individual components of these blended tracks? There are also some tracks that would appear at first glance to be missing until you realize they're elsewhere in the soundtrack under a different title because they're heard multiple times in the game. If someone can identify those tracks too, that'd be helpful.

The quality is flawless, but whatever sound editor you used must've been really anal about clipping; audacity tells me that some of the tracks can be increased in volume by about 10 dB before clipping becomes an issue...

BTW does anyone know where the LEgend of Zelda Orchestra pieces come from?

Did they make more of these? Kind of sad there are so few of them!

I really would've loved more Zelda orchestral music. Does anyone know of any more beyond this stuff?

OH yeah and since I forgot in my own foolishness in the original post, thanks to the OP for putting this up. You sir, rock hard!

As far as I know only 3 orchestral pieces were written for TP. Sadly none of them relate much to the main motifs of the in-game score. They were orchestrated by Michiru Oshima and Mahito Yokota.

This is all we get until Skyward Sword. Miyamoto has already indicated that orchestral music a la Galaxy is on the cards :D

Their's two minor tracks that's been bothering me for a while now.

5-10 - Rollgoal
5-22 - Love

Rollgoal is actually the original theme (variation) of the STAR Tent without the start jingle at the beginning and the second composition that starts playing 20 seconds in the Love track is actually the Boss room theme when the Boss is no longer present, that should've been it's own track.

Track 5-22 was easy to split for me and I'll post that later, but 5-10 Rollgoal was too tricky to take out the jingle at the beginning. I was hoping you could rectify the Rollgoal track.

Agreed 100%...any word on where/why he's gone?

No idea where, but the why is pretty easy to guess. If you look at his last post here, he got upset with another user for "remastering" his work without his permission (and continuing to do so even after he told him to knock it off) and said as a result he's finished with soundtrack/ripping work. That post was two years ago, and so far he's stuck to his word. :(

I also heard he greatly dislikes the Wii (versus GameCube), so that could be part of it too.

Hello, i'm having trouble with converting the vbr into an mp3 format. I did some searching and decided to use Audacity on windows.

i don't know how to use Audacity. using these two pages here:

how to convert MP3 vbr to MP3 cbr? (http://forum.videohelp.com/threads/293911-how-to-convert-MP3-vbr-to-MP3-cbr)

Audacity: How do I download and install the LAME MP3 encoder? (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/help/faq_i18n?s=install&i=lame-mp3)

Am i missing something here? I mean.. a bit of info, somewhere... Any help would be appreciated.
